Translation note it was always laughtale but because L and R are interchangeable in Japanese this wasn't fixed till Oda confirmed it was based off of the word laugh.
This is also why you'll see in official translation ruffy and zolo
Buggy is the only character besides Luffy who I think has an actual chance of finding the One Piece because it would be funny and that’s all you really need with Buggy.
But so late in the story isn’t “it would be funny.” Kind of a weak motivation to give Buggy all that at this point?

Based on how Shanks announced he wants to claim the One Piece, I don't think he wants to be Pirate King. I think he wants to be a final test for Luffy once the Straw Hats reach Laugh Tale.
I honestly think shanks stole the nika fruit to give to ace because roger thought his kid would be joyboy so he brought it to east blue for ace and luffy ended up eating it because zoan fruits have a will of there own and it chose luffy as joyboy shanks was pissed at the start then realized the fruit chose him and he was better candidate so much so he got his arm bit off by a sea beast to gain luffy trust because u can’t say shanks with arm haki, future sight, conq haki would get his arm bit off by a sea beast he could use any of those to stop it but he let it happen to gain luffy trust, the reason he did all this because he knew roger or his crew couldn’t acess one piece and they all laughed they couldn’t then told shanks, maybe the only way it can be acess is with luffy fruit and gear 5 ability to turn stuff into rubber and stretch it, so he will use luffy to get the one piece then steal it from him to give to the world government/ 5 elders because that mf a celestial rat, he is st fingerland kid and able to meet 5 elders like there best friends, it’s either that or roger thought joyboy would get one piece and become his successor so shanks wants to challenge joyboy and become his successor but I think the first one is more likely

I think it's worth pointing out the next Pirate King isn't who finds Laughtale first; it's whoever is announced to have found the One Piece. We may very well have a situation where multiple factions get there simultaneously & whichever one survives the resulting battle royal gets to have their leader become the Pirate King.
I mean that’s basically the same thing. The last Poneglyph is most likely under WG control, and since it’ll be Luffy going to war with them, he most likely gets there first, then shares his location via den den mushi or vivre card
@M8V3N187 I'm feeling it's more likely Luffy & Co. will get the last poneglyph from Elbaf, then they'll need to go deal with some emergency, which will give Blackbeard the chance to get to Laughtale with the presumably stolen information. Shanks &/or Buggy will probably get there shortly afterward through their own means, but I'm basically writing fanfic at this point.
I wouldn't be surprised if Oda presents the island with crews landing in different parts and showing their progress in a top down view (including showing Zoro getting lost again like he did in Skypea)

Below Big Mom and Kaido, the next person who was closest was definitely Sir Crocodiles Baroque Works. He had Robin to read the Ponegliphs, and even Bon Clay that can easily infiltrate whole cake island and Onigashima. Even if Baroque works wasn't that strong, he could easily get there through sheer resourcefulness alone.

Shanks is like that one guy in class where everyone is struggling to finish up the Finals project but he's just chilling but a day before the deadline (or even an hour) just gets it all done within a shorter time than the rest of the class. I wonder if Shanks knew what Roger said about him being too early to Laugh tale. I could imagine him getting there first and waiting for Luffy, knowing that he's the one that needs to arrive to make use of the One Piece. He could even clear a few hurdles for him along the way without him knowing, could be why when he finally had the chance at Wano to meet Luffy, he decided instead to go after the One Piece, he realised Luffy was ready.
I think that would actually be one of the worst things he could do to Luffy. Luffy doesn't care about the goal, he wants the journey - and he wants to get there himself. If Shanks would help him that way he'd be maaaad.

Buggy claiming the One Piece and receiving all the recognition for it while looking in the general area and spotting/following Luffy’s crew is pretty on brand.
Bonus points if he steals it while Luffy and Blackbeard are battling. Triple points if this is after Blackbeard had defeated Shanks but had been stuck trying to figure a way past some final test.

I just realized that cross guild is between the three pirates that were important right at the beginning if the of the story which were the three oda probably had in his mind even before creating the warlords. So criss guild and buggy as one contender really seems like something that was planed from the beginning

The other thing is the gol d roger crew, did you forget that rayleigh was making a proposition to tell the straw hat the whole story on the poneglyphes, but luffy declined. Might be that shanks and buggy know a lot about it, yet who knows what is lurking there and who is after their head after going for it. So there was first a disturbing of power needed, make ground for the right prerequisites to make it possible.
2 theories about shanks: 1. If the man marked by fire is Saul, who IS on Elbaf same as Shanks, maybe he has 3. 2. Maybe he doesnt want the One Piece for himself but maybe he will be like a judge of character type so nobody vile or evil will get the One Piece since he was such a big Roger Roger fan.

Shanks should be a bit further down on the list, on account of him being 'less free' like Kaido and Big Mom. He's got territories that he protects, like when Barto took one of the red haired flags and replaced it with a straw hat one and he insisted they'd have to go not to lose face.

Also we have to remember that somebody could potentially talk Rayleigh into giving them the info on how to find laugh tale. It’s absurdly unlikely but it’s still possible

I knew Oda didn’t care about Kid’s aspirations when he had to be handed Kaido’s poneglyph rubbing by Law. Without Law looking out for him he would have simply left Wano without it.
But what makes it even funnier to me is that L magnet Kid is missing the Poneglyph that is situated on Zou, an untraceable phantom Island, as well as a way to read them. And it just so happened that both of those things were in his vicinity while at Wano, and he left with neither.
Because he wouldn't know what they are or why he should be wanting them, that is something people find out on the "final island". Law was just damn lucky that the Straw Hats allowed him to join anything poneglyph related, both on Zou and in Wano since he didn't deserve or earn any of it.
@@tobiaswedin I've always thought that was an issue that Oda needs to address. Kid and Law shouldn't know what the poneglyphs are. I guess in theory they could have been to Lodestar already, but it doesn't seem likely. Yet Law had absolutely no reaction to the info dump the straw hats got from Inu and Neko.
Kid 100% knows the significance of the road poneglyphs, as he brought up the man marked by flames, I just don't get why he knows. The implication is that the Straw Hats were extremely fortuitous to find this information out on their first trip through the grand line.
Law and Kid crews are underdeveloped Luffy got Jinbe post-TS BB got Aokiji and DFs for each named member now. Oda has put too much of a gap for the majority of the supernovas to get acquire the OP
@@aleccampbell7707 Exactly, there portrayals post time skip have taken a massive nosedive. When Law recruited Jean Bart, it was cool that he was able to easily convince a former pirate captain to join his crew. But post time skip, Oda showed that there are levels to this game. Kid and Law's reaction when they found out that Jimbe was joining the Straw Hats said it all.

i think oda is setting up the 4 emperors meeting at laughtale and having the final showdown between the 4 and their crews. something also tells me that laughtale has plenty of juicy information about the ancient weapons that we have been yearning for

I think people also forget that Buggy also personally knows Momonosuki, the Shogun of Wano, and so a potential easy way into Wano. Plus Nekomaushi and Inuarashi, who while not on Zou could send Carrot good word that their old friend is stopping by. If the next Poneglyph is on Elbaf, well he not only has his old buddy Shanks there, but he potentially might still have allies on Elbaf who remember him as a kid. Only obstacle is Whole Cake, but he has 2 Warlords to help him storm that stronghold. Buggy has some seriously good connections.
I think all four Emperors make it to Laugh Tale at roughly the same time, learn its secrets, and team up against the true enemy - the World Government.
I feel like Shanks truly knows the danger levels of Blackbeard and the World Government and feels that Luffy is the only person that can overcome them and is gonna be one of the final tests for Luffy and his crew on their journey to Laughtale where Shanks is probably gonna intercept them before or more likely after Elbaf
About Shanks only having the copies he took from Kidd, Shanks had free access to Zou all this time, Inu and Neko, they would have gladly received him, and he already knew where the poneglyph was, and the 4th most believe is in Elbaph protected by Saul, a place to which Shanks showed us that he had access at ease, so if he had someone to decipher it (and knowing that Saul rescued all of Ohora's research, it is very possible that it would be him), Shanks would technically already have all the elements to go

I don't think Pudding is able to read the poneglyphs. That idea comes from Big Mom assuming that Roger could read it with the voice of all things, but we know that it was Oden who was reading it to the crew, but that was kept as a secret from others outside the crew and some of the WB crew members. Otherwise Roger and Luffy would just read it themselves without the need of Oden and Robin.
Could Pudding's memory fruit allow her to simply steal the location of Laugh Tale out of another crew's head instead, bypassing both road poneglyphs and the capacity to read them entirely?

I kind of feel like the discovery of Laugh Tale is going to be closely tied to Buggy. I mean his character and story have carried the most weight as far as humor. Not to mention that Luffy's role in the story is slowly shaping into a legendary hero with the intent of shifting the well-being of the world, a purpose beyond just being King of the Pirates. Oda could easily hand Buggy the crown as one last triumphant, hilarious troll by the clown himself

law and kid are 100% coming back into the story so theyre not out of the running yet. narratively they are definitely not going to be the ones to find laugh tale themselves or become king of the pirates (which, lets be real, narratively it made no sense for them to do that even before being obliterated by blackbeard and shanks, so in that sense, nothing has really changed) but theres nothing stopping them from teaming up like glr said or allying with luffy or cross guild to get there. kid is too hotheaded and has too much pride to give up, especially when he made it so far, and law still has yet to uncover the mystery of the will of d.

I'm not sure that Shanks' waiting was just him procrastinating - I think that the events of Wano, and specifically the awakening of the Nika fruit may have something to do with it.
We know that there's something needed to do whatever the thing is that has to be done on Laughtale, since the Roger pirates were "too early." I choose to believe Joyboy is required to do the thing.

I don't really know why noone talkes about how Kuma's backstory basically showed that Dragon is the man marked by flame. I mean he has the black ship, the presumed weather powers to make whirlpool (ch.1081) , a MARK on his face and a past in the navy that seems to point to Sakazuki, the guy who scars peaple with lava (aka flames).

I prefer the Sabo theory myself but the idea of Dragon being the man marked by flame does actually get talked about a lot.
Makes sense. Dragon seems a little unknown among pirates. He’s still famous, but he’s not mentioned as much as some other characters.

Buggy is going to find captain johns treasure where there will be copies of laugh tale. Buggy will take a different route and end up helping the Straw hats by sharing this route with them.
I know this is a very rouge theory but what if laugh tale is actually Logue Town where roger was executed laughing and potentially his treasure was the memories he had growing up there.
Part of me thinks buggy becomes the pirate king before or after Luffy which is why Roger and everyone was laughing
I think its important to note something else Luffy has over the other crews and that is Nami. I believe that while the other may have fine navigators, finding Laugh Tale is going to require travel without the use of logpaths. Something that people can rely on so much Bartelemo’s crew can sail in the New World.

If any of the other crews want to find the island in the first place, I believe someone as skilled as Nami is required just as much as someone like Robin.

I think that the Straw Hats will run into Blackbeard’s crew and then Shanks will come to tip the scales more towards Luffy to give them the edge to get to Laughtale. Shanks always has been betting it all on the future.
Technically, Momo has seen 2 road ponyglyphs, traveled with the straw hats AND has the voice of all things

Black beard should be in the #2 spot regardless and I’ll tell you why. He has a history of coming in at the last second to steal the progress others have made. From how he gets his devil fruit (murder/theft), to empel down (piggy backed on luffy’s break in), to getting his second devil fruit (killing whitebeard after the navy had done all the damage), to the rocky port incident (somehow got help from Koby), his invasion of Amazon lily (made easy by the navy), up to taking laws ponegliphs. I feel that somehow when it’s time to actually find the one piece black beard is going to be following whoever it is that’s going to laugh tale. And he just so happens to have a guy with him that could possibly turn his entire shit invisible. Lol simple theory but from his history I can’t help but theorize this.

You should make a what if video where Kid and/or Law join the cross guild. Or another character that could strengthen such group.
For example, Law knows that Kozuki Sukiyaki can read poneglyphs, and that would give the cross guild another advantage. Same goes for probably knowing Pudding's location. Imagine Yamato and Monosuke protecting Sukiyaki from Crocodile and Mihawk!
Kid is a wild card and knows about the man marked by flames, which we don't know if cross guild knows.
I doubt law would submit himself to another pirates leadership, same goes for kid, but i'm not as wise on one piece lore and you or tekking, or ohara coold probably find a reason why
I think the real threat that Buggy and Shanks pose is that even tho they didn’t go to Laugh Tale they probably know who has the final Road Poneglyph
I think there's something about Buggy's line in Stampede that he no longer wants to get involved even if it's One Piece. I mean Buggy no longer needs a log pose to go to Laugh Tale
There is a missing pages in Odens journal it could possess the location of laughtale. Prime candidate who stole those pages is Shanks or Buggy

It seems Shanks was just waiting for Joy Boy to awaken, perhaps only with him the One Piece could be obtained, he even stole the fruit for it and perhaps made sure to inspire Luffy after he eat it so he could one day use him to his advantage...

I think it is actually very likely Shanks visited Zou during the Wano Arc both Shanks and Zou were just outside Wano during the fight with Kiado and Shanks probably went to Zou for the ponoglyph he needed while he was there. so he at the very least has all the same ones that Luffy has and i think it is likely that he has the last one already.

My question is that if you have two of tham ( oposite side: or heck 3 is even better) cause if you have 3 you would get a line and a random location than travel in that line till you find it (and i know this would take the fun avay but it would be neat as a what if)

By the end both luffy and black beard set sail to the one piece as a final race begins between black beard and buggy who im guessing already knows where it is
think kidd is out of the race with law likely going to the strawhats but love the ways buggy has gone to being extremely close to going to one piece(being with the roger pirates,having really strong individuals guarding him with a loyal crew alongside especially usopp & boa hancock/luffy seeing the log pose for it in stampede.:3) if he didn't get lax in east blue .
