Moto Guzzi has been producing the V7 since 1967 and one of the most iconic of all time is the V7 sport of 1971, also known as the red frame. Now here I get the opportunity to review and ride a 2020 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer, third edition, that owes its heritage to that original "red frame". A modern classic, lines harking back to the sixties, with technology and rider aids of today.....
Here in Cape Town with one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world and on one of very few hand made motorcycles still made today, Italian art, bold, beautiful and inspiring.

I have a Guzzi V7 Racer 3 with the number 0185. In and of itself it's a wonderful motorcycle if you're in the mood for something like that. The original Pirelli tires were terrible, but with Metzeler they drive wonderfully. But beware! For people who are used to modern Japanese motorcycles, this Moto Guzzi has a surprise in store. She is very prone to kickback. I'm not used to this from my Yamaha superbikes (4 with 1000cc). After the first fall, I quickly stopped trying to ride it fast. My only and by far weakest motorcycle, which I have a lot of respect for because it becomes uncontrollable.

I have number 85 ever made and it was manufactured in November 2010. Later it was released for the market in the spring of 2011. My bike is still unused and I will save it until some day.
