Back when everybody had tans in the summer, the skies were blue, most days had big fluffy puffy clouds and the sun was yellow. I was 18 in 1990.
I was 17 with out a care in the world. Now at 49 with the weight of the world on my shoulders I realize we grew up in the BEST of times.
I was 18 when this was shot. Things were so much more human and joyful. This made me cry.

Experts say that you remember things nostalgic and romanticize them but they were not actually better times but they are idiots. Those were better times. I miss all those times but we have to move on. No choice.
Man I really never thought we would look back on the 90s with such nostalgia. I was still a little kid in 90. My times were like 96 when I turned 16 till like 04 and looking back it was like pure freedom compared to the safe boring sanitized world we have now. I hope my next life I come back in a cooler Era

The summer of 1990 was the best! I was 16 with a license and an Acura Integra. I worked the whole summer in the mall to put in an insane stereo system with a CD player that skipped non-stop so I could cruise Lake Washington Blvd. What I would do for a time machine to go back and do it all again. The late '80 and the '90s were the best of times. Thank you from a fellow-Washingtonian.
I was 18. I just moved into my first apartment. I could have parties, stay up all night, eat hot dogs for breakfast and have sex on the kitchen counter. It was a magical summer.

The party went to the Attitude era in WWF WCW ECW within wrestling by the late 90's.. Sports was good in the 90's. No smartphones yet. In music the gritty heavier and darker side of both Rock and rap often outshined the good time feel good party tunes. But kids back then were still having fun and made their friends outside in the neighborhood. More families were closer. Kids now go straight home, don't say hello. I think on social media there's too many memes glorifying cutting people off, ending friendships and that's just part the reason current generation so depressed
@@themadrapper101 social media? this was happening long before that - social media is popular to blame but it doesn't keep people in their homes watching tv...tv does that. and 'home' is more of an escape rather than a place in a community, or, a place to stay while waiting to go back out to some form of work.
There was still plenty of cocaine in the 90s.

Solid gold, man. One thing that jumped out at me was the bodacious stocking of the deli case. It seemed that in all forms of retail at the time (fresh food, grocery, dry goods and other non-food retail), owners and operators were extremely liberal with stocking and inventory policies. I remember retail stores of that era absolutely filled with new stock (to the ceiling in a lot of places), and usually delicatessens and corner stores were meticulously stocked and maintained, even in rough neighborhoods. If there was a soda/pop cooler, it was absolutely filled with every imaginable variety from the bottler (including the phantom Snapple carbonated sodas). Good times.
The Penny Saver is / was still stocked that way as of January of 2022. Looks a lot the same, really.

1990 was an epic summer! I was 16 and was my first summer driving! many concerts that year, including motley crue dr. feelgood tour at Legend Valley. Buckeye Lake, Ohio

I'll never forget that summer in 1990 mainly because I got married that summer, but I also met Fallon Williams the 3rd"who was the back up drummer for humble pie and we jammed together for a few weeks. We played a couple of clubs in Atlanta Georgia, and a few in Chattanooga Tennessee. Then we went towards Michigan, NY, before heading back south.
I will never forget the night that we took a bunch of quaaludes, right before going on stage at the play late club in Chicago Illinois. Fallon was off time so bad that we stopped the show, and took him back stage to chill out. Then the rest of us grabbed some acoustic guitars, and played the rest of the night unplugged. Needless to say that was the last time I ever did a quaalude "well the next week or so, Fallon flew up to LA to meet up with the other members of humble pie. They were starting up a tour or recording a track or something, I really don't remember but I never heard from him since. Yeah that summer was a blast little did I know that was going to be the last summer of me living the single life, because I got married on the 28th of July and happy to say that we are still going strong.

I had a dream the other night that I found an old solid brass time machine in an old warehouse that existed only in my mind. I climbed into and started at the controls and it projected me out on a telescoping ladder a few hundred yards and I got really freaked out because I didn't know how to work it and I felt like I was playing with something that I didn't understand. It would have sent me into space. Maybe someday I'll get a second shot because I just watched the news and I need a second shot at it.
I just turned 23 in June of that summer. Where did 32 years go?

@@skywishr1313 I can only tell you the culture I was living in compared to now. Now things are much more controlled, subdued, serious and monotone. Back then things were carefree, colorful, energetic, and less serious.
We can only speak our own honest experience.
