So, technically, it is not a rope chain, rope chains are made out of two c-shaped jump rings soldered together to make the link. Still a cool chain, none the less.
I didnt understood but i gave like im gonna try anyway thank you!
Looks good!!
Thank you!
Nice work. Teaching old dogs new tricks
Thank you!

Yes
What thickness of wire and what is the diameter of the loop if you don't mind me asking?
I’m using 16 American wire gauge wire, and using a 1/4 inch thick rod for the inner diameter of the links.
What size rod do you use
1/4 inch thick rod
Thanks

good looks playboy
Yessir
is that solid gold wire?
No unfortunately not. I wish it was though!
@@aywjewelry still dope tho! one day I shall have gold wire! i speak it into the universe!! i wanna make a chain so bad lol
@@politerudeboi6898 go for it!
It is best to use a drill to make a circular loop
Drills can slip and mess up, it’s best to wrap the wire around a rod
Ive tried to make this and it dosnt come out right GRRRR
It’s ok! Practice makes perfect. Patience too. It’s key that you use the right sizes of everything in the video, at least for this size/width of chain.
buen video
It looks cool but slightly off compared to a normal rope chain if you want to make a really high quality rope chain you have to use different technique and solder
Yeah, I know, I don't have the time, resources, or knowledge on how to do that, and I really like rope chains so I found this method
@@aywjewelry yeah I get that. I can really recommend learning how to solder, it is surprisingly simple to do and increases the possibilities of what you can do so much. Props for finding a way to do what you like with limited recourses and making it look as good as it does
@@Simon-jr2oe thanks!
@@aywjewelry Yet you call yourself "AYW Jewelry"
@Danny Green If you couldn’t already tell, I’m not a professional yet. I have to work with what I have.
Rather than purchasing a chain would it be cheaper to have one made by a jeweler with provided wire?
That’s a good question. I really don’t know. Cuz if you have the wire, might as well make it yourself since you’re already part way there. But if you did do it that way, you’d probably have to discuss a prove with the jeweler
@@aywjewelry I don’t think I could do the other half of the process because I am disabled and don’t possess the tools to make the chain necklace. At most I mainly use metal wire to wrap shark teeth and other pendants.
@@ethansoderstrom8287 ah I see. Well, wrapping wire, even if not fine metals, is still a viable method for jewelry making so I count it.
Definitely not gonna be cheaper. Handmade chains cost what they do, not because of the material, but because of the work involved. 100 grams of pure silver is less than $100. A 100 gram sterling silver, handmade cuban chain, is gonna cost 4-6x the cost of materials, easy.
First time it gets caught or yanked, that chain is gonna be in pieces 🤦
"Gold wire found at Michael's" uhhhh that aint gold dude.
Obviously not, that’s why it’s found at Michael’s
could you do this with sterling silver wire?
Absolutely yes
No...... Are you MAD?!
Since when does a rope chains have links.
Every rope chain has links. Just not traditional links like a paper link or a Cuban
