I for one have never been able to afford the high cost backpacking gear. Most of what I have used has been Walmart or something similar. Glad to see you are reviewing these items and welcome more reviews.
Please do more Walmart and budget gear. Thank you for this video. I find this very helpful. If something were to happen in the world I would be rummaging for supplies and your channel is pretty close to what a person like me would use in bug out situation. I like homemade gear too along with gear around the house to use.
This is a great series! I have a genuine affinity for scrappy low budget outdoor travel especially for young people. Save your money for road trip costs when young. Once you crack 35-40 then put some cash into making the trail a bit easier with gear.

Good review! Like you said, it can get overwhelming getting into backpacking due to gear costs! I’m in that exact situation myself now but my gear list is almost complete. I have an msr single cookset for myself but I want to pick one up just for camping with someone else and this seems perfect!

Great review. I live in Northern Michigan on a lake. I can’t leave here too much this summer but I’m making a bug out bag so my husband can just get up and go to the UP to meet big foot. I have looked at every pot and pan for sale on Amazon. I made a list of every thing I wanted to buy, but in the end I walked into Walmart yesterday and bought this kit because for my needs it all I really need. I looked at all the cool jet boil systems but saw many reviews that said they were just to heavy for a hiking trip. I just want to buy the minimum of what I might need for car camping and then this winter I’m going to rethink what I really want to carry to Central America. Having fun dreaming and learning on utube right now.
Walmart is selling an Ozark Trail backpacking stove now. It's the same stove that's been around a while under various brands or unbranded. For $13 you get the stove, gas can stand, propane tank adapter, and a decent little pouch. Too good of a deal to pass up, and I only had one stove anyways.
Great review! An outdoor experience, (particularly for a first timer) with somewhat compromised, but perfectly serviceable gear, it far superior to that individual missing out the experience all together. 🤔😎

Out door equipment at Wal-Mart is basicly, Entry-level material. It will be able to be used a few times and not break the bank.

I just came across your channel. Great informative videos. keep up the good work! I definitely subscribed and I would have to say that walmart is getting pretty impressive with there low cost equipment. I am a cub scout den leader and getting parents to spend a lot of money on there kids for equipment is hard to do, speaking for myself on my children as well. Such as lost of interest and dropping out of the program or destroying or loosing the equipment. ozark trail is a great starter point and above.

Not sure what that other brand is, but this is exactly like one I got at REI years ago. That was called "Dualist".

Unfortunately the Walmart near me doesn't have a good selection of gear, but you can order on line and pick it up at the store.
Be careful with the pot though. Even over a low burn on my backpacking stove, the non stick started to flake off in to my food. I saw some reviews of others having that happen, but of course they were after I had bought mine.

Affordable And Rugged For Most Part...Tents Are 3-4 Years Old But Holding Up Good For Their Age...No They Won't Last A Life Time But Using 4-5 Times A Spring Summer And Fall They Have Been Great...And Not Spent Hundreds Of Dollars...

It is definitely not stainless steel. That pack shipped a few days ago, and hope it will be here soonish. Coming from China. I'll probably do a first impressions video just to look at it, and then after I use it a few times make a video with how I think it works etc. Thanks for watching!

I still use a Walmart clamshell kit from 20 years ago. Just be careful with that tippy little pot.

This is a GSI product. You know for a fact It comes out of the same factory in China at the very least! You can’t convince me otherwise.
