    I love the fact that you show us Walmart level stuff. We don't always need to have elite equipment. Sometimes more is just more....not better...depending on what you are looking to do. Thank you for all you do!

      I was thinking the same thing. I can't afford titanium Snow Peak pots. I will try the second hand stores for gear since the gas stove was found at a thrift store.

    Toss the sporks and replace with better cutlery, toss in a can opener, Scotch brite pad and few utensils like a spatula and you got it! Thanks, This is perfect for my RV.

    The plastic plates work well as holders for paper plates so less cleanup 😁

    Thanks for sharing your video and showing what it looks like on a camp stove, wanted a bigger set, volume wise for spaghetti and corn on the cob, I just bought this set and I like the size of the big pot, and the sturdy handle on the skillet. Thanks again.

    So I got to use this fairly extensively this past weekend and I gotta say this is a great value! The pots, plates, and cups, are all great. Didn't use the sporks, I despise sporks, but can't bring myself to take them out lol. The frying pan worked well enough, I cooked a lot of bacon, sausage, and pork chops! I was having a little trouble in the mornings with heat control as I think my coleman single burner stove was freezing up some how. The frying pan made some noise and warped when heated up, but seems like when it cooled it popped back to flat. I'm very pleased so far with this purchase, it seems sturdy enough and well made enough that it shouldn't wear out anytime soon. This kit and a seasoned 12" cast iron skillet should serve a family or small group really well!

  • @WhstlblwrBlastingEpsteinsILK

    I'm at my bug out camp in Burlington Vermont. Subzero temps with -15° to -40° wind-chill factors. I used to look at these cook kits and wonder why they have the big chonky plastic bowls & plates.
    Until I prepared my first hot meal in my fireplace. I just used one of my thin microwavable plastic bowls that has a lid. My hot meal was cold AF in just seconds. Luckily I have the double walled stainless steel carabineer coffee mug so my coffee stayed hot. But, everything else was cold quick.
    I'm actually going to save whatever chonky plastic bowls & cups I get in my kit to use for hot food. I'm betting my food will stay hot longer.

    I bought one this week for car camping, mainly for the big pot. The plates and cups seem nice, the pots seem good, the frying pan is a little meh, but we'll see how it all works this weekend on a trip!

    Awesome review. I just bought this but have yet to try it out. What sold me was the fact that the handles fold. I've been taking my old "home" pots and pans, but the handles make them bulky and space consuming. I also have the two cylinder stainless steel pots from ozark, and they've held up nice, so I figure these will too!

    How Are the Ozark Trail Bottoms Compared To Stanley Adventure Base Camp Bottoms In Regards To Thickness For Durability ???
    Awesome Review.

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  Před 5 lety +1

      The Ozark Trails was actually surprising, its pretty thick and well made, I will be testing more with it in the future so I cant speak to durability yet (just got it before this review) but it seems that it would hold up well long term. Its not cheap tinny metal, its actually decent without weighing a ton.

    Hi. I enjoyed your video. You got me interested in this set. I’ve been looking at the 4 person Stanley Base camp set. I like this one better because it has a mid size pot, and it seems like the pan is a bit larger. What do you think? I don’t think I’ll be using it much but wouldn’t want to buy junk. Should I splurge or do you think this one will work for using a few times a year? Thx so much for sharing your expertise.
