I recently begun making CZcams videos of my travels. Any advice on how I can improve them would mean a lot!
Why lie on your videos? Harmony beach is one of the finest beaches in Jamaica and a stones throw from where you were situated.
In making a video it is important to cover all angles. The crime rate in Jamaica, as well as Haiti, and Mexico is fueled by more than 90% by the massive number of illegal weapons that the USA turns a blind eye to leaving it's shores for profit. Without the guns these governments would be able to crush the criminals a long time ago. In most cases the security is outgunned. CARICOM has asked the USA to spend some of the '''war on drugs '''money to stop these weapons crossing their borders, but only ;promises. The remaining 10% that is causing the deaths in Jamaica, is Lottery scamming
WHY ARE YOU BEING SOOOOO MALICIOUS TOWARDS JAMAICA.??? MONTEGO BAY HAS A FREE BEACH PARK.ALOT OF THING YOU AND YOUR HOST REPEAT WERE UTTER NONSENSE
@@EddieExploresTHIS GUY IS THE WORSTTTTTT...PURE EXAGGERATION AND LIES.
I live in Montego Bay and yes, there's daily crime here but there was just as much crime in my US city. Most of the crime here is gang violence or domestic crimes. As the man said, if you stay away from the wrong things, you'll be fine. I think that a good point was made about the resorts taking away from the locals and that tourists should be buying their souvenirs from craft markets, etc. I walk around downtown, alone and don't feel unsafe. This video using the word "war" so many times would probably scare tourists into not leaving the resorts, possibly hurting the economy even further... Just my thoughts.
The resorts tell everyone to absolutely without question stay within the confines of the resort and only purchase things there. Vendors aren't even allowed on the beaches near the tourists. Beach access has been completely cut off to everyone by those resorts. People who've relied on those waters for fishing and other profitable opportunities have been cut off or drastically limited and soon to be cut off 🤷♂️. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer 🤷♂️💯. Poverty always draws crime, but you're right, it all depends on what you decide to do with yourself that determines how dangerous things will or won't be more often than not.
Chicago, NYC, Memphis to name a few.
Di world have crime ah true
Just left Jamaica for a friends funeral and holy cow was it a blast! I’ve grown up dirt poor so I didn’t think it was too bad, I knew which blocks to avoid after dark. But there’s no party like a Jamaican funeral party let me tell you!
I feel like their presentation is just so off. a large difference in an area where locals try to tell you dont be a dumbass tourist. Because it happens there go figure. Saying "youll get robbed" to these guys they spazz out. "99% sure the context was don't go fuck around there after dark.. Which id give the same advise for anyone! If your not from a place dont pick the night time dressed in fancy clothes cell phone on a selfie stick already held 10 feet away from you." After a certain point tourists fucking beg for it., Have some sympathy, culture, and the class to not flaunt shit that people aren't looking at going "hmm id like that camera, instead hmm i could take cara my kids and pay my bills with that" While still bad I dont count stoupid actions that lead to obvious results mean an area is dangerous. I mean dude this kid talked over these guys in every other scene because he cant tell what they are saying so he just waits for pauses. Everytime he misses a chance though he goes interrupting. I love Jamaica to anyone who read my rants preciate ya!

But no business skills. Just smoking, jiving and jobless.
I can’t stand the singing

We've been to Jamaica on vacation twice, 20 years and 10 years ago. We walked the markets, toured the gardens and enjoyed the culture. Jerk chicken is still our favorite. I hope the quality of life in Jamaica gets better.
How was the change in the 10 years you saw?
@@CrazyKurt-tb4cq Are you saying that you should feel bad for traveling to a poor country for vacation? many impoverished countries live off tourism, without it they would be way worse off.

Went on a mission trip here to help a remote town. It was my first time out of the US and was one of the most eye-opening experiences. Despite the crime, they were always working hard and upbeat. I like your videos a lot! But from living recent years in Kingston Jamaica I gotta say..this is a pretty rough portray of the island. There are a lot of local youtubers to team up and explore the island with and there are some very safe parishes all over. Of course you going to find certain dangerous areas but usually you’ll be fine.
Im with ya here man, I lived off Montego Bay for almost 8 months If you look at the map North point of the bay cliffside overlook has Ricks Cafe. There also wasn't much adressing of the people who -choose- to live almost water side. Certainly living there longer than me you know what im talking about. The houses are almost open air? Some of the guys dont even own any of the land they just have a deal to put up a shack and farm there for some time A breadfruit roasted on the same drum they make the pan-hang from. While theres alot of impoverished people and a lower income. Its like he found the worst 5% and presented it as all of it outside the resorts.

I visited Montego Bay on holiday 6 years ago, this episode was a real reality to life for those there. Very eye opening to someone who was on a luxury Caribbean cruise. Thanks for another great episode Nick!
If you want a cruise you just spent a day in Montego Bay you had to be back on that ship cruising to the Caribbean is not eye-opening
This is not everyday jamaica😂 this is a small part of our island
imho opinion, there's a bit of sensationalism here. My 35 years of experience in Jamaica says that you can find all levels of life in Jamaica depending on how you live. Generally the people are some of the most respectful and insightful people you can meet on Earth. Can be a true Nirvana depending on how you move and mingle. If you go looking for the undercurrent, its there. Like any country, but ultimately it has the most respect for people and philosophy that Ive ever experienced. Kingston has always had its own world sometimes referred to as Killtown. again .. search and you can find all levels. Bless

The man tells the truth about ghetto life in Jamaica unless you rich and live uptown you ok. Life in the ghetto it's like a war zone sometimes. Unless Jamaica money start have value the ghetto continues poor need money to gain wealth
Man Jamaica is one of the most violent countries in history, you say otherwise but these people are real and not paid actors. Y’all only want the fancy and happy aspects of human life. Indigo Traveller is necessary for people to see the undercurrent in the Global South
Well said, the Europeans tend to gave a globalist agenda to undermine every non-European nation with the exception of the ones that lean towards a communist/socialist form of governance. Look at how developed all of Europe is. But now that the Asian country of China 🇨🇳 decides to invest in Africa and the Caribbean, this cause a rift in the geopolitical order of things. For decades America has claimed to be a “friend” of Jamaica, but this “friend” who is wealthy would not so much as help its neighbor to build its infrastructure so that prosperity can be achieved. But rather try to keep Jamaica as a dependent friend/nation. The friend who delivers in action exposes that the so-called “friend” in words alone was not really a friend. Sure every superpower has some kind of angle for why they do things. It’s no different from a corporation which has an angle as to why they conduct business. Terms of agreement can either be agreed on or rejected. Jamaica is a nation with a very powerful history and influence on the world. And this scares America. The Haitian revolution was orchestrated by a Jamaican. Marcus Garvey is Jamaican. The apartheid in South Africa had no opposition as vocal as Jamaica was.
So as close as the relationship with Israel is to America . They are worried that Jamaica will be that close to the new superpower power.
Very much click bait. He went to the dumb to film the video. Some of the thumbnails are not even from jamaica. He has videos from over 15 years ago. All for likes and views. If it was so dangerous how did you safely go places without a tour guide. Triovol gardens is much more peaceful than it use to be.
My wife and were in Montego Bay a few years and rented a motorcycle. We were warned about going into the “hills”. It was gorgeous; cooler temperatures, warm friendly people, great twisty roads. We zigzagged from one side of the island to the other with no problems. Except stepping on a fire ant hill. I’d do it again anytime but not rainy season.
someone warned you not to gi in the hills. The hills are the best part of Jamaica!!
Salt Spring ? Lol
Mo bay is a beautiful, safe town, love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️
Im a woman that visited Montego Bay by myself and had a great time. You have to move smart. I stuck to the resort and only used their excursions. Everyone else outside the resort is looking to hustle you.
@22:20 you speak of little beaches for locals that aren't expensive. I know you went past Harmony Beach Park which is free. It's a beautiful place that was build the other year. Yes, resorts take up most of the beach areas, but there is more than enough beach.
One thing i dont like about some people is that when you think about the caribbean you think about war and death but really when you go to the caribean you see the sun beaming and lovely beaches its only some countries but not all
I was in Jamaica at a resort in Whitehouse back in 2012. I was told by workers that I should not venture outside of the perimeter. The one time that I did, security stopped be and had me sign a waiver saying that the resort was not responsible for anything that might happen on the outside.
You'll be safe. He is showing the worst places on the Island. The tourist places are not like that.
That's normal
I couldn't help but read "should not venture outside of the perimeter" in a Jamaican accent.
The waiver is to scare you into staying and spend all your money at the resort.

Probably a Jamaican did something to him I don't know. Based on his video you would think as soon you step off the plain in Jamaica you are in an active war zone. But the funny thing is AirBnB are booming in Jamaica right now because a lot of people traveling to Jamaica don't even want to go to hotels, they want to travel the island. Jamaica will have 4.1million visitors this year Jamaica is the second or third most visited island in the caribbean behind DR and sometime Puerto Rico. If Jamaica was such a warzone I wonder why every year the number of visitors increased. I am not saying Jamaica do not have bad areas, they do, just like anywhere else. Absolutely love watching your videos! Keep doing what you’re doing.
Im going to Jamaica next year. I want to go camping in Blue Moutains. I love their coffee.
You will be fine 🙂 Jamaica is safe to visit. LoL for Indigo traveler to even remotely compare Jamaica to Haiti boggles the mind. This is exaggerating taken to the extreme. Someone should tell him to go have a conversation with many Haitians who call Jamaica home. Yes there are quite a few Haitians in Jamaica who fled Haiti due to the violence there. For what it's worth I think this video is just exploiting people in lower class/poor communities. Haiti is a failed state while Jamaica is an emerging developing country.

@@cadizking8161 Your comment is on point, he's not the only one to have done this. The word and place Jamaica sells. A lot of CZcamsrs go there and can shape the narrative to fit the audience they are catering to. To be honest you have local Jamaicans who build their CZcams and other online platforms doing negative news about Jamaica. I have learned that you cannot compare Jamaica to any other island. There is so much happening that you can do or find anything you are looking for. The place is multi-faceted. Indigo Traveler could have easily done totally different videos about Jamaica. When I was 23 years old I travelled to Jamaica with my sister. As an European I imagined I could travel the same way like you can in Europe. I just booked a flight, nothing else. We arrived at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, walked out the airport, basically with no clue where we gonna stay for the night. I didn't want to stay at the strip with all the fency hotels, so we just got a cab to Sam Sharp's square, in the area where you were filming. From there we walked to the end of Thompson Street and stayed at a local small hotel.
I remember walking these streets, people stopped with their daily activities, like playing dominos, chatting with their neighbors, even the stray dogs on the streets seemed to realize that we are white people who don't belong in these neighborhoods, so their eyes would follow us all the way down the street.
On the way to the hotel we had to eat something because we were so hungry, so we were looking for a place. One guy crossed the street and offered us help, we said we were looking for a nice restaurant to eat some real Jamaican food. He took us to local place, I invited him for dinner and couple of Red Stripe beers. I thought that would be enough for him. Aftet dinner he demanded 20$, which I didn't like, but gave him anyways. After that he decided it's still not enough and started following us on the streets. I really became terrified, it got dark already too. He asked caught up with us with another guy and said we still owe him more money fo his service. So I ended up giving him another 50$ I think, because he made it clear that he is not gonna let us go.
Some other guys would shout at me, 'Hey white man, I'm gonna take your girl away' or 'I am gonna rape your girl'.
So you can imagine how our first night at that hotel was. I was terrified that somebody gonna break in the door at night with a gun, because they followed us.
In the end we stayed 2 weeks in Jamaica, drove around the whole island just in route taxis from town to town. Even spent some time in Kingston.
But we learned not to trust people who come walking out of their way to help us.
It was a great experience overall, I would go back to Jamaica. But there are neighbourhoods which are better to be avoided
Why did you go to Jamaica, cus of movies showing it's nice?
because I was young, I didn't have a lot of money. But I wanted to go see something different than Europe. I was looking for tickets and found this 230€ round trip to Montego Bay. So I booked, with no clue what I was about to experience. But in the end I can say I did experience the real Jamaica
You just got to be vigilant wherever you go in this world. Human beings are the most corrupted beings in this world.
Thank you for giving us your story. Much appreciated. Even with a thought of scams (much less blatant extortion and threat of rape and assault), I would steer me away from visiting a country because I can never relax. So what's the point of vacationing if you are always under fear. Tourists should avoid all these shithole countries. It's just not worth it. It's too much of a nightmare anyway.
@@Tummie39 But even the locals have to protect themselve. When we were in Kingston, many upper class neighborhoods have gated communities where you enter through one gate with two guys with machine guns at the entrance. Everything is surrounded by tall walls with barb wire or broken glass on top so no one can jump over the wall.

Anywhere, all over the world, it's like that. If you're causing trouble then trouble will most certainly come back to you.
Absolutely narrow view of Jamaica. The focus was on Jamaica’s poorest neighborhoods and lacks context. Like every country on this earth, you have the rich, the very rich and the poor. Would have loved to see a more balanced view and more context. I think this video, not sure if intentional, is more of a spotlight on the plight of poor people in Jamaica and in no way represents the full spectrum of Jamaican life. The title should be “Walking Jamaica’s Poorest Neighborhoods.” However with the catchy click bait and given the popularity of Jamaica as a tourist destination, pretty smart way to push up those numbers.
Well said, he is trying hard to get content.

Not enough documentaries on Jamaica- thanks you for covering this. I look forward to more Jamaica content.
What is he covering? He’s trying to scrape the barrel to come up with incidents of the fear and violence that he set out to portray of Jamaica. He needs to realise that Jamaica isn’t Haiti - the only similarity being similar looking people! For a start the Jamaican government wouldn’t hesitate to send out the armed forces and police. They wouldn’t allow terrorists to walk their streets with long guns. They don’t mess about. So if he’s trying to portray Jamaica as another Haiti, he’ll have a long and unsuccessful scrape down to the bottom of that barrel!

I was in Jamaica earlier this year and 100% agree with what you were saying about how they try to keep tourists on the resort, everything felt kind of scripted. The places they would tell us to check all seems to be money grabbing tourists traps. Also, our guide was telling us about how the cartel came down, not too long ago, and bought up most of the resorts and are using them to launder money. It’s a beautiful island with good hearted people it’s just still corrupted at the highest levels to the point it where money can buy you anything from a drivers license to building permit.
Obviously, all inclusives are garbage and just mask the poverty they are located in

I'm a subscriber for a while. But I'll be honest, sometimes, if i haven't watched one of your vids for a while, my initial attitude is like, 'Another influencer, profiting on the suffering of others.' But then I watch it and I'm like, 'I'm glad I watched that. I know something now I didn't know before.' The gnarliest country I ever travelled in was Mozambique, 1998. Keep up the good work. If I weren't old and poor, I would still be out there going to places. When I look back and filter all my experiences, Mozambique and South Africa were the most memorable and it was directly related to the danger. It's like, when you're in these places, you're hyper aware of the dangers, but this hyper awareness seems to translate to being hyper aware of the beauty when you encounter it. You know? Like that shot of Montego Bay you include is just breathtaking. In Mozambique, I saw things that took my breath away. I will never forget them as long as I live. I could have gone to a safer destination like Botswana (and I would like to see that place), but I'm happy I went to Mozambique during that time.

If it's so dangerous how is a wealthy foreigner walking thru there unharmed?
ever heard of security? bodyguards...etc... they might not appear in camera but in the background they're doing their job
@@ItaAndyOfficial That's bs
If you want to tell the full story of Jamaica tell all sides. This is a highly condensed version of the negatives of a small part of the country. But NEGATIVITY SELLS.
I’ve been waiting for this! ❤️👏🏻 Yah Mon!
I like the content ur making.u have to show us Trinidad 🇹🇹 next
Especially sealots area where six is trending
What a beautiful country and people, I would absolutely love to live there with them, said no one ever.
16:00 BUP BUP BUP!!!
Also if you are looking to vacation but dont want to fund the internation cooperations, try local motels and resorts, air bnbs,
Sandals is a pretty big resort, well known and owned locally by the Stewart Family (who I believe also own AC Hotels in Kingston, if your looking to stay there)
AG1 is the best, it can do so many good things for your body as well as your mind, it helps you to concentrate, it's amazing, cheers Tracey from Australia xo
This guy is a champ!! Love his videos.
Thank you for watching!
Always watching and will never forget your name. As I said go to poor European countries and get out of mine. We know exactly what your doing.
@@IndigoTraveller you likkle fool. When he said "no where is safe" he meant in the world. And you try to bend the convo by saying in "here". Watch yourself. Mi nuh wuh try baddup some pushole but swear on my life Jamaica is God people. It's a island with no land mass of natural resources $$$ of course there's poor. Get out! You all done enough!
@@IndigoTravellerIs this during the time of Covid?
My wife and I was just there in September for our honeymoon and seemed pretty safe to me lol. I guess I was blind from the beauty of it all. Stayed at secrets, monetego bay. We walked the hip strip downtown, took a trip to the mountains for a bamboo raft trip. I felt on edge sometimes because of people on the street competing over my business, really tried to enjoy the walk but couldn’t even stop to have a cigarette without being bothered by a shop owner. Very busy traffic as well. Had a blast though! I would probably go back haha 😂 we also played 18 holes at cinnamon hill.most of the locals were really cool and fun to be around!
This is undoubtedly my favourite channel, am glad Nick is in my country. Nick you need to go to Portland, safest parish in Ja and the most beautiful.
Thank you, would love to!
@@IndigoTraveller Portland has very little crime. I doubt your viewers would like it 🤷🏾♂️
@@IndigoTravellerI am Jamaican as well. I was thinking to myself that maybe one of these days I might meet you en route to Jamaica or Europe one of these days. 🙏🙏🙏😊🤗
@@kevinchristian1547 if you watched this channel alot you would realise that he normally shows but sides, the good and the bad. He normally travel to see if what the news is saying is true. He does it alot better than the journalists.
@@kimlayne1993 He can still redeem himself. I look forward to seeing where he goes next. Will be interesting to see if he goes to places like Portland and Mandeville which have low crime rates. I wonder if he will talk about the developments taking place across the country?
Amazing videos as always
Thank you, much love
Thanks for chaptering that ad 🍻
Great video! I have been 3 times and its an beautiful country. We never left the resorts, but I appreciate you showing what's outside the walls and what the rest of the country looks like.
You go to many places I wouldn't dream of going to (i hate hot weather), so it's great to watch these videos and experience it vicariously through your channel. Cheers!
If only it were all true. He has to hype up the level of danger to entertain you. He showed you a crappy little beach for the locals. Take a look at harmony beach and ask yourself why he didn’t tell you about it. Crime is way too high in Jamaica but the government have invested heavily in crime fighting resources and education. A new modern prison will be built imminently too to rehabilitate criminals. Jamaica is one of the most progressive countries in the world today. Don’t believe the hype.
Great video! Felt sad over their small public beach they had for themselves.
I really enjoy this channel, its so interesting to see what you see.
So fascinating thank you for your work
Thank you for watching!
I absolutely love Jamaica, but of course, I don't see this side of it. I spend my time at Sandals resorts. What I love is the people. They are absolutely the most hospitable I have met in many places I've been. I do thank you for offering this side. Makes me want to help the workers I meet even more. One thing on my wish list is to spend a year as a teacher there. I presently teach computer science in the USA, but I'd love to offer my experience there in some way. Not sure how I could do that.
One thing I will point out, Sandals Resorts does dump money and support into the country, and the locals. Many times, I have brought school supplies with me and Sandals has a program that distributes it, but, Sandals was founded by Butch Stewart (RIP), who was a Jamaican.
Don't feel sorry for Jamaica
Dude didnt leave his 5 star complex and think he knows about the country 😂😂
@@user-dx5mg9by9yJamaica isn’t a person. But the civilians are.
This channel is fascinating to me. I’ve visited a few Central American countries with my family in recent years, and it’s always been a goal of ours to experience as much of the real local culture as possible, and we’ve had some of the most incredible experiences doing so. Sure, there have been moments of uncertainty, but the experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. Incredible , even. That said, we’ve occasionally had guides point out some of the tougher areas and on one occasion even brought us through, but I think it’s important to see that side of a culture as well. Makes you appreciate everything you have in life. Staying at a resort and being confined to it is odd to me, but I understand that some people couldn’t be happier in that environment. I also understand that certain countries are more dangerous than others, but I want the culture, the atmosphere, the food, and even the occasional moments of uncertainty. No tourist gimmicks, please.
Sandals is not the real Jamaica.
@@truenorth7949right… did you read what I said?
Thank you for your work bro. You safe as tourist but cant say the same for us locals
I love when you post content from my country! Big up🇯🇲
Big up!
So nice and knowledgeable videos..Take care
Different vibe different life . Respect. Greetings from Brooklyn NY.
I enjoy all your videos, but Jamaica is close to my Heart, so I loved this deep dive into areas I would not be able to go to - thank you.
Don’t be scared to go to these areas, this yt man goes to every country and generalizes it by its low income areas.
You should use unique thumbnail inserts. I've noticed that you recycle the same ones repeatedly 😂
Not you trying to convince your guide that the place seems tense 😂
Bro that was regular downtown mobay shopping district. It’s a little hectic but not tense like things are just gonna pop off at any moment. It’s sketchy late at night there ,cause no one’s around, but during the day and early evenings it’s fine.
Wow Jamaica looks so diverse 🤩
