What every poor country always say that they need is jobs, but the corrupt government isn't helping. No one is asking for a free handout - just for employment and peace. Great documentaries, and amazing strong people. ❤️ 🙏🏽
I wouldn't say Ghana is poor
They've just been going through a phase because of bad economic policies and a little tussle with EU
@Prince Okilo It's definitely poor... They said it themselves in the video. If you live in a lawless country, you're pretty much poor because you do not have politics who care for their people...meaning people there have to fend for themselves, which means poor. What these countries need to do is build businesses/factories where people can obtain employment so they can survive. No business = no pay, which leaves countries struggling.
@@r.r911 because they always chose wrong people to power
These governments don’t really collect much tax. There’s not enough money to invest in industrialisation. Even if there were, it takes many generations to train up the workers needed. You need skilled and educated management and limited corruption. It’s so much more complicated than just the people as well. It requires stable logistics and suppliers as well.
I don’t see a way forward for these underdeveloped countries.
Well lets face the facts. Why does not companies invest in Africa with cheap labour. Close to tons of natural resources. The people living there is lazy and corrupt. Not just the leaders. Dont forget China was the last country that was released from colonalism.
Whenever i think my financial situation isnt ideal, i see things like this and im immediately reminded how blessed i am
i hear you
Yeah me too feel so
Doesnt stop me from hating my life any less tho
Remember there are african women doing short reels on youtube acting like they all have lots of money.
It deeply angers me that they talk like that and meanwhile it LOOKS LIKE THIS.
@@1marcelfilms Same...
I had been in Ghana for almost 7 years. The ordinary people there is so kind, helpful, respectful, compassionate and enthusiastic. Though this video was taken in a relatively poor community, you can still see how good they treated the foreigners and how they wanted to talk to strangers and share their lives. Ghanaians are great people. Sure I will visit again!
I can't believe how good the slums look compared to some gypsy villages inside the EU. Ghanians are way more poor and even the poorest of them lead a decent life. They don't want to live in a trash.
And the industrialized countries with well paid jobs use them as their trash bin for consumer goods. Admireble that they dont spit in our faces while visiting.
Except for the one who wanted to stab him.
@@redplanet7163 yeah the *one* lol
Super poor area yet He went for this click bait like All of Accra looks like that.. SMH
Ghanaians are wonderfully welcoming people, very genteel, genuinely nice, good people! Loved Accra! 🥰❤️🖤💚🙏🏿🇬🇭
I'm Ghanaian, I live in the capital city away from the parts shown initially in the video. Those parts are huge slums, situated along the coast (Jamestown, korle and Bukom). They are some of the oldest townships in the Capital, towns that initially sprung up with the arrival of the British (traders of goods and later slaves). These parts used to be called British Accra. The residents are mainly fishermen and traders and sadly place very little priority on education and are consequently caught in cycle of generational poverty, a plight worsened by a poor economy. They however have produced most of the famous boxers that have come out of Ghana, including the hall of famer Azumah Nelson.
The other part of the video shows largely non Accra natives, who have moved from other parts of the country to the Capital in search of a better life but have found themselves doing odd jobs and trades and have resorted to living in the slums as the opportunity they had hoped for is highly lacking thanks to the declining economy. It's quite unfortunate but there are no signs that this situation will change for the better any time soon.
You so so on point
What declining economy? They have been there for ages. Since the British left
Thanks for clarification. I could see great boxers coming from there.. Many of our great boxers come from the slums too. That man who calls himself Survivor looks like the former U.S. heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder.
@@yaamanu3974 the point I'm alluding to isn't the length of time th slum communities have existed for but rather the growth of the slums in recent years and the underlying causes. There's the problem of investment and low employment prospects especially for unskilled labour plus major issue of affordable housing in the capital. Top that off with the pervasive issue of rural urban migration and the result is what we see today; This is attributable to the economic climate prevalent in the country.
🙏💞
I’ve lived in Ghana for more than 5 years. I’ve been to a lot of other African countries as well, and I can state with full confidence that Ghanaian people are the most courteous and respectful people I’ve met so far on the continent.

My little brother have married Ghana girl some 15 years ago. She got pregnant and they decided to move to Serbia, from where we are, because of the better health care system, easier to give birth, economy... at least better than it is there.
That girl was really extraordinary person, she was icon of our 25k citizen city, polite, nice, beautiful and educated girl.
And then, as only life can set up, she gave the birth and after some complications on the birth and not proper reaction of medical stuff, she passed away.
The girl she gave birth to is today one beautiful and warm-heart person above all.
On the funeral, came their relatives from Ghana and we met them all. Amazing and very nice people too.
Why I tell you this story? I see that many people confirm that people from Ghana are very warm heart and good people. People that I met was as well very good and polite. Even my cute cousin girl, born in Serbia, never seen Ghana ever, is also extraordinary person and I cant get of impression that it is not only because of the culture and tradition there, but must be something genetic too involved in this people character shape.
Greetings for all people of Ghana, with wishes to get rid soon of neocolonialist exploitation and develop their own economy welfare. Hope better days coming for Africa and other oppressed and abused people around the world.
People from Ghana are so beautiful. I lived in Toronto Canada for 2 years and I met many Ghanaians. They are so humble and loving and will literally give you the shirt off their back even if they have nothing. I am so excited for this adventure. Thank you so much for bringing us along.
Beautiful. Thank you.
That is the most outrageous lie I have ever heard. just because a certain person is nice doesn't mean all Ghanaians are humble or nice. I have met many nice Caucasians, but many Caucasians are the darkest souls on earth, so for most races, everyone has their quirks and ridges

The guy is going to the slums of Ghana and South Sudan, capturing some fascinating ass shots, interviews, and voices while getting physically threatened more than once. I think thats worth some praise, free of expense ;)
My only interaction was with a young man from Ghana in Muskegon Michigan USA. He sold hand made items at the Farmers market. Later, he saved his money and bought a food truck selling traditional Ghanian food. It is voted #1 year after year. He is the nicest person you would ever want to meet, he works hard but always has a supremely positive attitude. Thanks, Nick. Love your channel.
Ha ha. I live in Michigan. Born and raised in Ghana. Got my masters in engineering there and came to US to get my PhD. Stop thinking Ghana or Africa is all about slums, poor people and dysfunctional politics. It isn't. Those are the popular stereotypical versions. The part that frustrates me is that each and every help or pity given by foreigners or foreign governments further delays the govt the Ghanaians elect every 4 years from actually fixing the place. Ghana has number 2 or 3 most expensive real estate market on the continent. And I believe among top 5 stock market capitalization. We are world producer of cocoa gold bauxite manganese and recently crude oil. 30 million population paying huge taxes and revenues to our political elite. But we don't get squat in return. This is what needs to be talked about. Not how poor and "beautiful" we are and all this patronizing garbage. We don't need anyone's largesse or prayers. We need to figure out how to dispose of the vampires parasitizing the people.
Go to the poorest corners of the planet and people share what little they have to visitors. These people are absolutely awesome! Blessings to them!

@@Knight_Kinright but when the government isn’t doing anything to help the people they tend to try to get out of that situation. But of course, it doesn’t really affect you so it’s easy to say “just keep them over there” the country isn’t close to developing enough to actually have a decently livable economy. It probably won’t happen his lifetime so does that mean he stays there suffering? But like I said, you’re sitting at home in your AC with your bills paid, so it’s nothing for you to say “we have enough immigrants”. I spent 3 months alone in Ghana when I was 22 as a volunteer in the Volta region. On the weekends I would come to Accra. The people are so friendly, and welcoming. very hard working, and positive. Well it sure looks like these guys know how to have a good time lol. I love your videos man. I think it's cool that they aren't just asking for handouts. They want to work.
Incredible as always Nick! This channel has become completely unmissable. Great journalism. Safe travels!
What I love so much about the people is that none asked for money, they just want opportunities for the businesses they already run to improve and prosper. They want industries and an enabling environment to strive
Excellent observation.
@@paulleckner8235it’s so much opportunity in Accra Ghana, that’s why so many black Americans move there, it’s one of the most popular and most organized places, they don’t allow homeless people all over the city sleeping in tents, so they end up in slums
You missed the part where the leader of the village was with them to quash the begging and risk of kidnapping. You can see hints of begging in the video, they most certainly edited out more from the video.
@@_PatrickO he’s] not in a village he’s in a slum on the outside of Accra Ghana, he had to ask a cab or Uber driver to take him there, they probably told him not to go and many uber drivers probably flat out refused to take him, Accra Ghana is the most popular city in Africa, the comedian, Dave Chapelle moved there last week, it’s a beautiful city with little crime and that makes it a attractive place to move for black Americans , I also plan to move to Accra Ghana
It's edited out. People will beg and ask for money in almost every poor country. If not, its implied and you've got to always give tips. That's not an insult to the people living there, they're in a shit situation.
There's lots of people from Ghana where I live, and these guys are genuinely amazing people, always solar and friendly no matter what
Surviver what a legend ..positive ppl

My brother good work as always man, you’re truly blessed, I’m glad everyone can read your energy as the traveler. Thanks for making these types of video, one love 🙏🏼
"We are one..."...a very simple, yet very thoughtful and important assertion...that we all should remember. Not sure why, but this moment hit me really hard. Powerful moment, one of the most intense moments from your journey. Thank you for doing what your doing. One love to the people of Ghana!
Please do show the nice parts of Ghana also. There are skyscapers and nice estates. I have stayed in europe for sometime and there are huge slums here also.
Amazing people! Hard working and still have a smile!
New subscriber here. I stumbled across your channel last month and I cannot stop watching these incredible videos. Your journalism is far beyond anything I have ever seen. Keep awakening the world. ❤❤
I’m so excited for this series! Nick never fails to provide fantastic insightful content.
Great job
the last guy you interviewed i know him very well, he went to school with my elder brother but he was stubborn back in the day in Bubiashie where we lived and did a lot of drugs and even withdrew from school. I am happy to see that he wants a fresh start to his life. He went to Meadow prepratory school but unfortunately for me i have forgotten his name
You are always few steps ahead of international media with your informative documentary kudos and keep up the good work. Watching from 🇰🇪
Great channel! The things you reveal & show are situations/places/people that most of us would never have the opportunity to experience. Be safe out there. All the best from Eastern Canada.
Ghana is a country I wanna go next.. but with this video I can get to know Accra Ghana 🇬🇭
YOU ARE A VERY BRAVE MAN. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
He probably has aids now or some disease
You sir are a workhorse with how quickly you pump out this great content
Thank you so much :)
I just binged most of your videos. As someone who has only traveled as far as 8 hours in the car on the east coast of the US, you have really helped me want to get more in touch with the world. There's so much out there that you can only see by traveling, and you do an excellent job of portraying that!
My advice avoid ireland its a dive and a rip off
These travel videos are great but don’t underestimate the danger in a lot of places.
Apparently they’re not too concerned about “climate change”
The pot maker is a master. Without any modern tools…not even a shoes
Wow, this is a incredible documentary or just this is just incredible. I mean this is very sad, but so compelling
Thankyou Nick for this insight into Ghana.
This will be a good series to watch, I am very sure.
That’s not life in Accra Ghana that’s life in a slum on the outside of the city, Accra is a huge city with beautiful high rise buildings 5 star hotels and restaurants malls and universities, the city and suburbs are bigger then Chicago and it’s growing everyday, they just finished building a knew suburb called airport city because it’s built around the huge new airport they built a few years ago and it’s really futuristic
Im African, One thing i like about indigo traveller is hes not biased or flying drone from the distant, nah he goes to the local people make their day in the process of sharing their stories to the world, big ups to you
If you can't tell this guy is biased, the stuff they say about your IQ level must be true.
Lol this is truly a bot my friend. He wants to make it seem as though Africa is just poor
Watching them in the world cup was a hoot for sure. Loved the energy of their crowd. I’d love to visit Ghana if I had a guide to help
🇺🇸❤️🇬🇭
If you need a guide, i can help
Sure. We can help you. 🙏🏾 Just know someone, no one will harm you.
@@haydenk6459 bro Ghana isn't a place where there is much crime .. the people of Ghana are very friendly especially when you are a white or foreigner no one is gonna harm you whatsoever
You can reach out to me and we’ll take a stroll across Accra if u want we can go outside the capital
Hey, I'm from London and I lived in Ghana for a while a few years ago. It is so beautiful, the people are friendly and it's very safe. You don't really need a guide, if that's what is holding you back. I hope one day you get to go and enjoy the country.. I can guarantee you will fall in love with Ghana. Xx
God bless Ghana
I really love Africa , seriously
