How can anyone not love Les? Most amazing TV show I've ever seen, because of the pure authenticity.
It was the only reality show Discovery ever had with any credibility in.
@@scottm5972 Yeah. I've learned so much from this series. I'm 28 years old, live in the suburbs but hey, you never know if one day you might be hiking a trail and take a wrong turn.
@@corkychu What's wrong with season 6?
Yes!! Nailed it dinky!
Yeah, I think a lot of people don't know Les can be found on youtube yet, but his channel has been growing 1000 subs almost daily which is amazing.
Btw, the key to bending copper pipe without crimping it when you don't have a spring bender is to fill the pipe with sand then bend slowly.
correct :)
That's actually something I never would have thought of, thanks! :)
Thanks Chris. That's good to know.
But why tho . I’m curious
There's nothing better than high quality h2o.

ayyy whats up chumley xD
Waaaater sucks! It really really sucks!
i heard Adam Sandler's voice in my head when i read your comment
So happy to see you doing this yourself on CZcams. These bring back fond memories of when Discovery was really about discovery and History Channel was about history. Will like every video, new and old!
Alan Kelly yes before the politics. Before Disney
Right on brother

"I'am glad there is good water around here! otherwise, I would have to drink my own pee!......Hahaha yea right"!! Never gets old!!
Thank you for posting this for free.
"Otherwise I'd be reduced to drinking my own pee.... hehe yeah right"
~Les Stroud 2020
Always great when anyone mocks Bear.
Sad thing is, with the way 2020 went, I'm sure that thought crossed somebody's mind.
I never get tired of listening to Les Stroud...
I wonder how many times he's gotten sick from his intention to feel connected to a place
lol
That water still idea was freaking great! First time I've seen anyone do that..it's a no brainer actually... I'll remember that idea for life now. Thank you Les!!
Hi Les, I have enjoyed your work for many years. My 'ancestors' come from some of the same group as survival experts you know from Utah. My great grandmother Marshall used to tell me how much fun she had walking across the country and picking wild plants as well as killing rattlers for dinner. As an old woman in the '60's she would list them for me. In the early '70's, when I was practicing 'survival' we didn't worry much about the water here in the mountains of Eastern Oregon. Now... water purification filters are more than highly recommended.
Whenever I hear about Utah, the first person I think of is David Holladay.
Really miss having you do straight survival on TV. All the other stuff out there, such as Naked and afraid, seem so damn fake.
Because they are. Les is the real deal, the rest are all scripted bullshit.
"Alone" on History isn't half bad. It's no Les Stroud but I enjoy that series.
That show should be called "Faking and A Fraud"............
I always said Les was the real deal. Bear was like a stuntman with a touch of survivalism. But Les gave you real stuff that you’d remember.
Loved Naked and Afraid at first until it was revealed they were sometimes given snacks by the crew.
You've been a childhood hero and a constant inspiration through my life. I enjoyed Survivorman with my brother growing up and we loved implementing skills like shelter building learned from you in our back 40acre woods. Cheers Les, thank you.
Les, thank you for posting this. We desert dwellers know the importance of staying hydrated all too well. Personally, I think we need more knowledge of where to find water in the desert. Especially here in the Sonoran desert.
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite survival expert on CZcams.
Soap will have his revenge Shepard
The OG and only LEGIT survival guy
I was listening to this with my eyes closed and I was like damn Les is thirsty this episode! 😂 then I realized it was a montage
Lol.
All your hearing is about water and yo like theres other stuff besides water
Lol for real! That shit was funny
Survivorman was prime time TV for me in high school. 26 now. Loved the raw trueness of the show. I didn’t need any gimmicks.
New drinking game. Every time Les says “giardia” take a shot 😂🤔
Finally found 🙌😍😌💕✨💓🙌 the comment I was looking for hehe

Miss looking forward to your shows.. will always be a timeless pleasure and source of education.
Right on Les your The Man!! Thanks
Hey Les, big fan here, I'm sure you already know but the "watermelon colored snow" you mention at 38:10 is actually a type of ice algae.
Les your social media presence has been such a blessing! So cool to interact with someone I've looked up to for many years. Even as a kid watching shows like manhunter and bear grylls it was obvious your show wasn't so much entertainment but educational which was captivating to a young mind and still is. I love re-watching these old episodes.
First. Love everything you’ve ever done basically. Second, thanks for the fresh content. It’s awesome. Third is a Hail Mary, wish for nothing more than for you, Joe Robinet, Steve Wallis, and Luke from Outdoor Gear Review to do a collaboration. Each hosting a trip. With each of you adding what you would to each others outing. It’s a pipe dream to ask Coke, Pepsi, RC, and Jones soda to work together. But it would be my dream to see the interaction and knowledge that would come from you 4. Steve prob being the perfect example of how all of us would be with you three. If you even see this, that’s all I could hope for. Big fan from Colorado
Thank's Les for doing this video and all the other Survivrman videos you have sheared with us .Only a good man would take time out of there day to do this for everyone to enjoy.
That steam still is one of the few kinds of stills I haven't tried out in the bush. I've even tied a plant still to my pack to see if it would work as I hiked. It did.
love this guy
Always awesome to have more survivorman.... the water vine i remember you sliced your thumb on that one
He got distracted by the monkey 🐒🙈🙊😳😕😐🐒
Growing up as a kid in the woods of Kentucky, I loved watching your show on tv. I think somehow you’ve inspired me all the way into adulthood.
I’ve since started a CZcams channel and can only hope to challenge myself somewhat as you have.
It’s fun watching you dive into the Sasquatch mystery and I’m about to binge the new foraging episodes.
Literally the greatest.
Well done and worth watching again and again.
You are the reason that I always have an Eartheasy life straw in my truck. Thanks Les. Your information may save my life one day.
Thanks for making this video Les. A fresh water distillery should really come in handy, the way today is heading! 🏁🇺🇸
Keep it up Les you're keeping us inside, also taking us outdoors with you Thank you 👍
corona got me here watching 40 minutes about water.. your videos are cool dude
Thanks Les, love your stuff.
I love going out and trying to survive in the Rockies during the winter. It’s not necessarily fun while I’m doing it, but it’s exciting.
Outstanding, thank you.
The episode I’ve been waiting for!! Thank you for all of the free episodes you have uploaded and thank you for many years of education and entertainment 👍
I was wondering where u were just today. Perfect timing! ..now let me watch this new entertainment!
This is amazing content Les, thanks for making it!
They need to have a "Les vs. Bear" survival challenge.... last man standing... it could go on for months...
Truly inspiring, brings back so many memories. I blame you for my unrelenting need for adventure haha. I always appreciated your authentic approach!
No nonsense truth here. Thank you Les.
Love hangin out with my dude les!!! Just like old times on the tv lol thanks so much for the uploads!
Thank you less, this video is Great. Thank you.
You are such an incredible font of knowledge.
Les: "What I'm going to do is dig myself a hole."
Thanks, les for the video, great, great info on survival ,keep up the great work your little fan ☆☆☆☆☆
Thank you sir.....ur time and effort in making these videos may one day save my life....u are a real asset to humanity
thank you so much for these videos...i forgot how much i miss Survivorman ....i hope u keep something coming well after this corona-virus thing is over
Cool, I watch your shows alot. They are epic
Thanks Les! I'll echo what others are saying; i grew up watching your survival series and its awesome to see you still posting regular content on here. Hope you're doing well.
We appreciate your efforts and results!
Man Les thanks for uploading this kinda stuff people might need this soon.
Watching this video right now while downing another glass of water. It's crazy the things we take for granted
Les, thank you for doing all the pandemic videos!!!!!!
I would pay to just spend a week surviving with Les. Not only would I learn a ton of useful information but we could also chat about music and play harmonica together.
I drank so much tea while i watched this.
You promised us you would do a directors commentary with Logan! I’ve been waiting the whole apocalypse for it!
This is amazing, that last 4 mins of the video where you talk about being connected to the Earth is very true. Taking walks with no shoes and getting your feet to touch the soil directly is another way(in my opinion) to stay connected to the Earth. I’ve noticed feeling more energized throughout the day.
Sadly you can get parasites that way, botfly, hookworm, certain nematodes and similar can be picked up through soles ov feet.
None are fun and some of them kill if not treated, even worse, some HAVE NO TREATMENT.
najroe many things people do on a daily come with an associated risk. It is up to the individual to decide weather the benefit is worth the risk. This one definitely is in my opinion.
No you don't. You read it on Facebook.
Jp Listen to the last 2 mins of this video. Les Stroud “Survivorman” even tells you how important it is to stay connected to the Earth, and the benefits of it. How did he come to these conclusions? Through life experiences. Oh wait my bad, he just read it on Facebook one day
I can hear the Stone Cold Crazy influence there in the theme music. Nice
I'd like to go on survival trip with les for a month or more to get away from lockdown business 😆😆
We want a new show when can we expect to see that?? Always loved your shows keep it up!
It would be great if you could do more survival shows, but it is easy for us to watch them, then it is for you to do them. So I am grateful to get the overviews of your older experiences.
Tip: Snow + bottle + sock = unlimited water. Step 1. Fill the bottle with snow. Step 2. Put the bottle inn the sock. Step 3. Cut a vertical hole in the sock and wear it like a necklace, underneath the jacket. The warmth from your body will melt the snow. (When active/moving) Ps. You can use a string in the place of the sock. (But that's going to get a bit uncomfortable)
Thanks, Les.
Hoping you do another directors commentary!! Was hoping you’d do norway :)
Sphagnum moss also acts as a filter. I drink from it often when I'm hiking or on a portage.
U the man Les
Yeah very nice information video. With the boiling water theres one method i would have liked to see mentioned... Another way to cook water if you dont have a metal container, maybe not even thick plastic foil (would work with even a bowl make from bark, or thin foil in a dug hole maybe with some leaves or something "foodsave" layed into it to protect the thin plastic) Works great, and basically will work with everything that will hold water: Get some stones, heat them in the fire, and when theyre very hot throw them directly into your water (use 2 sticks or something to transport them there, of cause not your hands). If you do that with enough stones the Water will start boiling (actually very quickly). you will get some ash and charcoal into your water, but charcoal and woodash usually doesnt hurt you at all. Its hard to cook something for long time with that method... but as Les Mentioned, most bad stuff dies as soon as the water starts boiling, and that you will archieve with that method.
Edit: Im kinda sure les showed that allready somewhere though ;)
cool!!
This guy has forgotten more about survival then I will hopefully ever have to know
Going to the 'fridge for filtered, cold water to drink...giving thanks
Thank you so much for the urine distillation. Life choices.
"The one element, without which nobody would survive for a week" lol. Don't hold your breath
Drinking water while watching
Thank you.
YES!! Someone besides me who knows how to eat snow!!
Les..
..been watching you from the beginning, even the solar house, and all that I can find, to include interviews, as well as conventions..
..i'll say it plain.. Thank You..
..though i'll elaborate.. before and now, during this pandemic, where you offered your time with us..
..everything you produce is, well, magnificent..
..a genuine person, a good soul..
..i've learned more from you, than i can ever compare..
NEVER stop..
..and again Thank You!!!!!
More Bigfoot episodes dude. Amazing stuff
If you're making a urine distiller like Les, I would use the extra plastic to line the sand below the cup so the sand doesn't absorb the urine. I'm not an expert and this dude is definitely smart. I've learned a lot from him and will say I know what it's like to water plants and how the soil absorbs the water. Drinking pee is still gross but will do in a survival situation.
Hi Les. If you use a drop shadow behind text thats over an image its much more clear. Thanks for all the great videos.
Maaan, F those producers for never giving you a damn water filter for your trips. haha. I'm sure Les has had some insane parasite infestations in there.
@SoliDeoGloria 07 lol i think i was drinking when i wrote that but I'm guessin i meant in his guts and butt lmao
distilling my favorite method, if only it could be done all the time
I had to go to the fridge to get some cold drink. Cold Tonic while watching this taste good.. But I must admit that water is the heaviest thing in my rucksack when I go backpacking..
You mean I dont have to squeeze animal poop to drink like bear? Lololol
"Fresh from the anus" poop water makes the best drinking water.
I love how survivorman cuts through all the bullshit, and shows us you really can eat snow and not die, or drink sea water without dying. It's just how you use the resource in what situation you are in...
You can actually boil the water on a grocery plastic. Simply fill the water and put it above the hot coal. It will boil in a few minutes without damaging the plastic. Not sure about the bpa stuff but for life or death situation, I wouldn't mind a few ppm of bpa in my body.
Just yesterday My brother asked me to go on a backpacking trip. My very first question was, “is there a water source?”
I wonder if that (sage brush) I think that is behind you in the desert could be put in a hole in the sand and if that would sweat out the moisture in it and collect it the same as the urine?
I'd be very curious to hear his opinion of the life straw
Loved it.
And the subtle jab at Bear ‘’fake’’ Grylls at the end, LOL.
I mean he's no slouch... one of the youngest people to climb everest when he did, military operator, etc
@8:20 Sweet Toyota.
Hello dad it’s nice to see you making videos again
How do you feel about a Life Straw? Obviously not something you would find, but is it good to take it portaging or hiking just in case?
Les, I can't find any references online, but I'd love to know your thoughts on the "Survivor Man
" episode of The Office from back in 2007. It's gotta feel pretty awesome for one of the best/most popular TV shows of all time to make an episode based on you and your show.
it was loosely based on a bunch of survival shows, survivor man just being 1 of many
Lol that episode was hilarious!!
He actually did an episode with GQ I believe where he reviewed survival scenes, and the office episode was one of them
Ya know.... at 20:40 that coconut is oddly similar to that bigfoot researchers video of the face.
Sipping on a Canada Dry 🇨🇦😌😎😋🤪🤗🇨🇦and watching 👀😌👌😎☺😊👀 a Canadian teaching survival tips for safe water 💧👌👍😀😊😄💧 consumption is gold 👌👍✨😀🙌😄👌
