"DELTA BOUND": JESSICA KING with CLINT BAKER'S NEW ORLEANS JAZZ BAND (Redwood Coast M Fest 10.07.23)

Jessica King is a subtle pleasure. She doesn't shout over the band. She doesn't show off her range. She nearly disappears into the song. But that is her great unselfish art. You might have to lean forward a few degrees to truly hear her, but your ears will thank you.
Here she is, with Clint Baker's New Orleans Jazz Band, at the Redwood Coast Music Festival, last October, singing one of Alex Hill's most lovely compositions.
The song is DELTA BOUND, and the accompanying musicians are Clint Baker, trumpet; Nate Ketner, tenor saxophone; Ryan Calloway, clarinet; Bill Reinhart, banjo; Katie Cavera, double bass; Riley Baker, drums, and guest Kris Tokarski, piano.

Pretty indeed, and Ms. King is also quite pleasant in person, as we had the pleasure of hearing/seeing her with Clint's band at Cafe Barrone in Menlo Park, CA a few years ago. BTW, Ryan Calloway is also an excellent graphic designer and artist, with several CD covers and similar projects.

I saw Clint Baker in the title and I thought he'd be playing bass. But he does play everything, so there is that!
