Welcome to episode 3 of the 2023 Yamaha YZ300 build! I'll be taking a 2005 YZ250 chassis, 2011 YZ250 suspension, and 2023 YZ250 bodywork to create the ultimate 300cc, electric start, off-road weapon! The best part? One of YOU will be taking it home when it's finished!
In this video I take an FMF exhaust pipe that never should have seen the light of day again and bring it back to life.

What is the red paste you used on the silencer, when you were closing it up?
Always love polishing my pipe
Who doesn't?
@@KincadePavich can't argue that, but my mother always told me if I polished my pipe too much I would need glasses!!!
Great to see a mechanic working in a clean work space. Hate working with clutter that usually leaves you looking for the one tool needed for a job. Thank you for this informative presentation.
Glad you enjoyed!
Where do you purchase the tools to plug both ends of the pipe and pressurize the muffler?
you deserve more subscribers and likes because your videos are so entertaining!
I just got one of those FMF factory pipes today. They are beautiful! I think that one almost looks better with the now very minor dings. It adds some character. Great job
Thanks a ton, glad you think so! They really are gorgeous pipes.
Excellent job! I’m building a 1976 Yamaha RD400 drag bike and the two old Tooley pipes need plenty of help. They are very expensive to replace, so now I will try your method. I also have Pryme products as well - awesome. Thanks for the video.
Great job on restoring the pipe! Gives me some good inspo for when it’s time for exhaust on my channel 👊🏼
One of my favorite people to watch on here man!
I really appreciate that!
Killin it dude! Great work!
Thanks a ton!
nice work!
great work!
a dent puller and some cheap arc welding rods are very handy for those persistent tiny dings. Find the center of the depression, weld the rod to it. Use the slide hammer to pull the dent out.
Good job bud!
Damn!!! What an amazing transformation!!! I really enjoyed this video and I think I might have picked up some new skills so that I can use them in the future!!! I have an 88 YZ250 and it has a PSI pipe on it. It is in pretty decent shape...a few little dings, but somebody decided it would look better painted chrome...what are people thinking?
Nice job
coool, good job
Dude! Nice! 👌👌
Thanks Andrew!
Watch from Italy, top chanel super
Thank you!
love the vides
Thank you!
What did you use in the dermal to make the pipe look that way
what's the name of the plug set up? doing my first restoration and idk what those are called and i need to remove dents on a 2 stroke pipe as well
Hey love ur videos and I watched ur build video of that Suzuki rm125 03 and thought it was a beautiful bike before realizing I lived not to far from there I am wondering if it is still available
Yes it is still for sale!
Dang I would totally buy 5 entires but I’m from Alberta Canada.. I wish I could win a bike built buy you! Truly inspiring and I hope to gain the same talents you have building bikes!
I actually updated the eligibility to include Canada excluding Quebec. If the page on my website hasn't updated for you, try clearing your cache. I was still digging into legality when I set it up and hadn't changed that yet - thanks for the reminder. A trip up to Alberta in the summer would be EPIC if you won! I appreciate your comment!
Nice
any need to clean the inside of an old exhaust pipe?
Do you take on small jobs? I have a 125 pipe that is not to bad but could use some love.
Hey man! love your videos! just a question im in nz if I was to enter and win the bike would you ship it or is it only for people that live in your country?
I'm really glad you're enjoying the videos! Unfortunately this contest is only open to US and Canada.
Did you use a fine and coarse cleaning wheel or just fine? Pryme sells both and idk if I need both?
Both - coarse to strip, fine to make it pretty
What kind of dremel bit did you use?
Pryme MX - links all over my channel
What is the purpose of blueing up the welds?
It looks cool
Nice toy bro 😂
I live in the US, is there a retailer who is in the states for the 6" Pryme Rough cleaning wheel or a similar product?
Yes, Pryme is a US based company. Link is in description and here: prymemx.com/?ref=kincade
May 31st of 2023 is a long time though
hey what type of torch you used
Map gas
An oxy settling torch will do the job much faster than mapp gas
I believe it! Although I'm not sure how much hotter I'd want to get - I do know someone who melted through a pipe doing this.
@@KincadePavich it’s definitely sketchier to use, just faster. If you don’t mind taking your time there’s nothing wrong with that. Pipe turned out great regardless man, good job
What kind of wheel do you use on your bench grinder?
Pryme MX cleaning wheels
@@KincadePavich I just ordered some I’m very excited to try it out on the pipes for my banshee
Where did you get the pressure fitting from?
eBay!
I really should do a 4 stroke build! And unfortunately right now contests are available to US/Canada only. I'd love to figure out international laws to allow everyone to enter!
btw why do people blue there pipes it looks sick but is there a benefit ?
Purely looks
@@KincadePavich ok thanks im rebuilding my KDX 200 1989 and got a fmf pipe i want to do it looks sick first 2 stroke because i have a XR350 1985,KTM 400sx 2001,XR80 2004
Can I enter if I live in aus? Will pay for shipping if won haha
Oh boy... As much as I'd love to, it's a big can of worms I'm not sure I want to open both from a logistics and legal standpoint.
why when he was putting the d 40 on he put it on like that 7:16
It prevents rust and gives a nice shiny surface coat!
@@KincadePavich mhm the grip and wipe motion must be the secret huh 🤣
I love you
45-50psi is not enough 90psi is not going to blow out the pipe ive used this method for yeeeeeaaaaarrrrrssss
Should I enter 100$ will I win it
I don't know if you'll win it, but you'd certainly have a chance! May 31st might be a long time but all great things take time!
first !
Actually you were second, but I appreciate the comment :)
