    I'm Chinese by race, Singaporean by nationality... a South East Asian by birth! I've watched Pacific Island dancing, but this by far are the most mesmerisingly enchanting ones so far. A dozen times I've watched it and the other one, and I still can't get enough of them.

    Back than when we were all in one place we all did one dance amd that's hulaing. We voyaged alot so we were all scattered all over the pacific ocean.This dance is all of islanders damve its not just hawaiian...
    We all in this together

      @koalag4m3r29 Před 5 lety +1

      Yea He/she is right. We islanders were all in one place, we used to live all together in one place at one point, but we were voyagers back then. We voyaged a lot, some of us stays in an island and populate that specific island until we were separated and created our own cultures and made our own names, all in all we are all one. Sorry if that didnt make any sense, just try and understand it

      @8eighton312 Před rokem

      Hula is a polynesian dance not micronesian. It's unique to the cook islands, tahititians and hawaiians. If we all did 'hulaing' samoans and tongans who are polynesians would do the dance but they don't. Stoo stealing polynesian culture.

    Personally, I think it's wonderful that all Islanders celebrate all our cultures by sharing in the joys of each others, an what better way then through dance!

      I was strucked with the closeness of the linguistics similarities between the kiripatian language words & same pronunciations,i could petty much understood what. Kiripati songs meant.i am polynesian of samoan Heritage,other then the Tokelauans Nieu Ueans,& Elise Islands"we speaks a direct similar polynesian vocabulary related dialect..i understands kiripatian coherently,just like im speaking to another Samoan..im am affirmed,and i believed the peoples/natives of kiripati archipelago,are far flung-descendants from samoa in polynesian migrations [r spreading out in ancient time.of the ancient voyaging descendents..the vocabulary consonants are not :Tongan,Tahitians or Hawaiian not so much fijians other then the salusalu islands & lau group islands that were incorporated in tthe Fijian federation's. Fijians,are of melanesians,with mixure of polynesians,either of aTongan or Samoan mixtures of ancient voyaging times..when those main three groups had more cultural exchanges & historical contacts...i am proud of the indigenous direct connect contact between our peoples & cultures..kiripatians are a beautiful peoples,Nations & culture..malo manuia.greetings & blessings.

    whatever, poly, mela, micro, i mean to say you can't tell anymore these days who is what and that..the girls could be half poly half micro but brought up as micronesians, so if they're dancing in POLY way of dancing, it's still considered theirs ? let's just try to understand it as a PACIFIC CULTURE in unity and don't try to be so specific like because WE islanders already know all that, the description is only for those who aren't familiar with us PACIFIC ISLANDERS!.

    Beautiful Dancing, but I love I-KiribatI DANCING, very unique in its own artistic way, so if you want to promote Kiribati culture, plse this is not Kiribati dancing. This is modified Pacific Dancing, because I-Kiribati dancing is quite different. I just want others that see this not to get confused. But it is very beautiful dancing, but if you can dance some I-Kiribati real dancing plse we love to see that.. No offend. I love I-Kiribati dancing..

Yes we all agree its not a Kiribati Style but what the girls perfomed on the stage was FANTASTIC and very much appreciated, the World has Adopted Life in ALL form of Different Cultures. So please accept the show not where the Style comes from.....KOOL!!

    The dance shown is not Kiribati, can we please stick to our own dancing ( Te maiee raoi not the "tamule song and action). Yes we are all Pacific Islanders but we should be proud of our own traditional dance and songs instead of copying other cultures......very embarrassing to watch our youngsters perform a totally different dance 'cause we are different.

      How uptight. Where is it written that we cannot participate in other people's cultures. I am a white guy. If i play the blues am I committing come cultural faux pas? Dude, you need to lighten up some. What is embarrasing is reading such a restrictive, negative comment. Particularly after watching such a beautiful dance from another culture, performed by two beautiful ladies. Go fire one up ziggy.

      m8 there’s no problem with doing other’s culture but then their culture will be lost if they don’t teach it to the younger generations of today…It was happening to us Cook islanders for a while but now they are teaching it…Yeah, was kind of going down hill for us for a while
