Hi Cassandra, can you make a video about red flags in an esthetician please! I've been looking for a good one!
good idea
Yessss I would love that
I second this!!
Thats a great question!
Youâve got to go with a MEDICAL ESTHETICIAN. They wonât work out of a spa or salon. They are always associated with a doctor on the premises.
Such a cool video concept đ I am a gynocology intern and I would remove any type of non prescription genital-vaginal creme/shower gel/ deodorant. I see so many cases of infections bc of products that disturbed the pH. Please if you notice differences in smell or color go see a professional. đ
Absolutely agree with you on this! I get mad whenever I see products like this advertised! Not that I can stop it.
Licensed Esthie here đđŸââïž Iâve been trying FOREVER to get all my friends to get rid of their makeup wipes and switch to double cleansing đ© letâs just say easier said then done lol đ
I can back up that allergy claim. I had no issues with US chemical sunscreens. Used them as a kid and into adulthood. However, about 8ish yrs ago went on a cruise late fall and had hives the entire time. Thought it was the chlorine or bleach. Fast forward to summer and used the sunscreen again (yes I've changed my ways since then and use sunscreen in winter), playing tennis. Low and behold it was the sunscreen that was giving me a reaction. I can't use ANY products that have spf that get absorbed. Thankfully, makeup is fine. Went through mineral sunscreens and hated them. But then I watched one of your sunscreen videos where you were talking about Korean sunscreens. Went on stylevanna after having an ah ha moment where I knew I never had exposure to their chemical suncreens so I figured I'd be fine. I ordered the Beauty of Joseon and haven't looked back! Love the no scent (hated the US chemical sunscreen smell. Its why I never wore it) and it feels amazing on my skin. Best part.... no hives! â€
I love that sunscreen too but I donât trust it 100% on hot days. Mineral sunscreen is my fave, we have the best ones in England I think
@itsruckaswife7036 Yeah I only use for my face and neck. I turn to a mineral for my body when I'm OK the lake. But the white cast is insane. Is there a place that I could order the England mineral sunscreen? Always looking to add better products to my routine. Just trying to avoid the greasy feeling ones. Hate how I feel like it wipes off on stuff.
I feel like i need to say this but all sunscreens, chemical, mineral, and hybrid will get absorbed through the skin. Its a matter of how much it gets absorbed but it does nonetheless.
I'd bet money that you were allergic to fragrant ingredients or added fragrance in the sunscreen. Most, but not all, sunscreens have these. A lot of the time, when people react to skin care, body care, makeup, or hair products, the problem is the fragrance. Ask any dermatologist.
@20thcenturyrelic That certainly is a possibility. But I've never had reactions to any scented product previously and to this day. Although I do choose to try and go scent free if possible because I am aware it is a potential irritant. However, because of my sensitive skin, I always patch test. Even skin care products I've used that contain a small amount of spf with no scent I had major reactions to. And considering I'm allergic to chlorine and bleach, I wouldn't put it past my skin to react more to the chemicals in the sunscreen versus the scent. đ€ Regardless of what the allergen is, I still can't use it, and it's something developed over time. Just glad there's other options to protect my skin.
Thank you Cassandra for showing your real skin no filters, no lies, etc. I remember being 16 about 10 years ago looking at filtered pictures and looking at the mirror and crying even though I had no major issues with my skin, I felt so ugly compared to the perfect pictures online that were not real but I didnt know pictures online were fake, I remember such a heartache thinking I was doomed to have bad skin and being ugly for the rest of my life and now I realise I was never ugly I had normal beautiful skin that I was probably should have been proud of, shame I cant go back in time to tell this to my younger self
So true, I used to believe I was so ugly when I was a teenager even though I used to get one pimple here and there and had no spotsâŠ. Now, when my teenager daughter looks like me when I was a teen, I realize how beautiful I wasâŠ. She has the same skin as mine, same looks as mine⊠everyone tells me she is my ditto⊠it took me so many years to understand that I was never ugly.., wish we lived in the real world
Those micro needling visuals are terrifying đ eeee! I don't think I could do it.
Thx a ton getting rid of my dermaroller stat (maybe used it 3x) was extremely cleanly with it before and after but donât need that type of unwanted damageâ€ïž love your videos
I find it hilarious that the no-no's you mentioned are linked under the title, but not the sunscreen you promoted. What?! Likely a CZcams-ism. Also, please link to the movies! :)
Australian here, I have never seen that paw paw cream, nor is it widely available here in Australia. What I would like to clarify though... THE original Lucas' Papaw OINTMENT of 1890 (comes in simple black and red packaging from Acacia Ridge Brisbane, iykyk) is only meant to be used topically on minor cuts/burns and at most as a lip balm when you have a cold sore, or for treating nappy rash on babies, NOT as an everyday moisturiser. It really is just a miniscule amount of fermented paw paw (papaya as the rest of the world calls it) extract mixed in with vaseline, but amazing at treating cuts and grazes. From what I can gather, the ointment and paw paw cream are very different products, so please don't think they are the same thing.
Cassandra, I've been using those colored loofahs for years! I watch you and a few derms on CZcams and they say they don't use them so I finally ordered a pack of wash cloths specifically for showers! I'm so happy I get to toss my and my partner's loofahs! And! I would wash from feet up. I don't know why! It makes sense to watch from top down so I will be doing that! I do NOT want fungus on my face! Thank you for this video. I'm glad you spoke out about the "home microneedling" and the facial scrubs. I knew microneedling at home was bad but I didn't realize how bad. It makes sense that they make a V shaped tear which is so bad for the skin! Thank you so much for this video! I'm a huge fan of yours. :)
I used to have one of those loofahs. One time I went to use it after a while of not using it, and it was covered in SPECKLES OF MOLD!!!!! (and yep, it had been hanging in the shower)
I also used to use one of those at-home rollers...with facial OIL. đ đ đ Omg. Not anymore.
I also used to use the St Ives apricot scrub, and it made my skin really soft, BUT...after a while, it didn't. And then all my skincare people said my skin barrier was compromised!
My husband uses the same cheap body wash from head to toe. I so badly want to steal it and give him some nice cleansers - one for his face and a separate one for his body. What's even more frustrating is that his skin always looks great! lol
Same issue here
"Cheap" doesn't really matter. What matters is the ingredients. If the product has gentle cleansing ingredients, it's working well for him. I'd bet it doesn't though as so many body washes are poorly formulated.
Also, heredity is a factor in skin condition. I don't think it's known right now how much of a factor it is, but it's important. My mom always looked younger than her age and was mistaken for my older sister several times.
Girl, SAME!
Truly unfair
The best wash I have ever used is a huge, cheap bottle of stuff with tea tree oil in it. I have very sensitive skin and I get no bad reactions and it hydrates my skin wonderfully. The expensive ones I've tried make me break out.
I'm glad you put Neosporin on this list lol. Horrible stuff. Haven't used it in years, vaseline is the way to go.
Neosporin would always CAUSE an infection when I used it.
never had a problem with neosporin creme.
I canât use Neosporin, or any triple antibiotic ointment because it has sulfa antibiotic in it and Iâm allergic to sulfa drugs. I get little green , itchy blisters wherever I would use it, and worse if I had to use a bandaid with it because of the adhesive. I can only use Bacitracin Zinc ointment, sparingly.
What about the exfoliating shower gloves? I wash mine out after showering and hang them on the line so the uv's sterilize them. Open to suggestions
This is very helpful! I donât know why Iâm just now diving into your content đ©
Since I donât have much positive things going on in my life right now, Iâm going to flex here and say Iâve either never had any of these products, Microneedler and nerospirin, or have bought/used in over 10 years at.Ives (aggravated my acne so havenât used in over 15 years) and plastic loofas(Iâve always had a bit of a phobia to plastic like apparently hated pacifiers as a baby even). Iâve only recently started using only fragrance free skin care products though.I do want shout out to the Ordinary for making fragrance-free products affordable! I only have one known allergy but you know letâs keep it that way!
Agree with you 100% about these products, Cassandra! And I own none of them.
licensed esthetician in Illinois been one for 5 years, struggled with acne for a long time before seeing an esthetician and fell in love with skincare. My husbands side of the bathroom has no products what so ever and yes i tried to get him some but he won't go for it. I keep trying
All he really needs is cleanser, a moisturizer to use as needed, and, most important, SUNSCREEN. If his skin is oily, he may not need moisturizer except possibly in cold weather.
@20thcenturyrelic lol thank I know that but there is a saying you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink
Guilty of using physical exfoliants (occasionally) on my face and fragranced stuff.
I did repurchased the onion spf cuz it was on sale and cuz i love it! (only one though, the skin1004 is still 2 for less than 20euros so i grabbed those as well)
Thanks for caring about us!! I use the first kind ->soft tutu-fabric type shower loofah. I pull it apart when i buy it until itâs about twice the size. Softer and way looser is the goal. If i overdo the pulling apart i sew it together a tiny bit in the centre. Fun to use. đżAfterwards i shake it out well and hang it up. Dries quicklyđ«¶
Loved the advice and you
I only use the dermaroller for my hair and its amazing with the Minoxidil
Yeah for the hair is the way to go I use it with rosemary mint oil for the awesome
How do you use it? Do you use the dermaroller first and then rub in minoxidil right after? Do you do it right after showering?
@@Deci_Bella I find the best way too do it is put the serum on ur parted hair line and then rub the derma roller over it
â@@Ah__ah__ah__ah. After showering? I mean, how do you make sure your scalp is clean?
@@Deci_Bella hmm ive never been concerned about that
Okay but what should we use instead of a loofa? Hands? Washcloth? I started to use a silicone brush type of thing because itâs super gentle. I wonder how hygienic they are though.
washcloth and wash after every use
Iâve been using âloofasâ from a brand called Boie which is a reusable brand that makes anti microbial products for cheap prices.
I was going to ask the same thing about what to use instead of loofahs!
And your skincare fairy godmother really got me đ i suddenly smile it
Hi Cassandra can u make a video about what good products of bubble skincare is good for 10 year old and also byoma âșïž
Ily Cassie!!!
Yay new video day đâ€
I used the purple sunscreen itâs amazing ordered the second one â€ïžâ€ïžđ
I love her sunscreen
As a massage therapist trained in lymphatic drainage massage, you need to dry brush from the feet upwards, not head to toe, because the point is to move your lymph in the correct direction to move your lymphatic fluid along thise vessels back to the lymph nodes and drain into the heart. Going the opposite way can increase your body's inflammation and swelling. Perhaps a better solution is having one dry brush for Legs and feet, then a different one for the rest of the body. And clean them after use.
How do you clean them though?
The video is amazing, however, regarding the loofah, what am I suppossed to apply my liquid soap with? Just my hands or is there any other item im supposed to use?
Yeah, I was thinking the same! I wrote a comment also asking.
Just use your hands. We really don't need to scrub our skin all the time. It's actually irritating. I do use a washcloth on my feet - a clean one every day - but that's it.
I personally use small soft washcloths :)
Please please look more into the exosome serums, I am soooo close to buying the MEDIPEEL+ Phyto Cica-Nol B5 3000 Shot Serum but, as a milennial, I am terrified of any type of physical exfoliation. Need your input in this, please do a video please please :(
!I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the product 'Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser' I saw it and before i knew better i was hooked by the words. It actually is a bit... gritty? when applied, not watery or gel like like my other cleansers. I'm worried I may be hurting my skin barrier if I use it, but I don't just want to toss away a 3/4 full cleanser. Please help đŹ
I also loooove my loofah, its so soft but i feel clean after using it. We store ours up high just before we get into the shower. I also put it in the washing machine every week - i hope thats good enough! Thankyou for all your wonderful videos they are so informative and helpful đđđ
I wish you had said the african net sponge or washcloth instead of a loufa puff. Both of those options are washable
The point is that these physical exfoliators can harbor bacteria regardless if its washable or not.
â@@Min-TaroWhy would they harbor bacteria if you wash them regularly and give them the chance to dry out between showers? đ€
I loved this video, great idea! Would love to see you review (by using it for a few weeks) the Reedle Shot (100, 300, 700). I've been using it for about 2 weeks and after that, not so consistantly. But so far, no problems. It makes my skin feel SUPER smooth.
Hi Cassandra, could you explain what causes like really obvious open pores? I've had this struggle for about two to three years and need answers as to what I've been doing wrong, and also how to fix it. Thanks!
Can you please review the new Balancing & Clarifying serum from The Ordinary?
It seems like an acne-prone skin holy grail
Wait! Why tell people not to use things yet add an affiliate link for those products...đ€Ż
youtube alway do that it she can't do anything about it
@@coffee_2234 no honey. Affiliate Links have to be purposely added by the creator (I'm not talking about ads).
all her videos are advertising
Hi Cassandra so what can I use instead of a loofah?
your natural curly hair is so much prettier
My friend had a breakout and she started putting on that Indian clay thing all over her face every day and just making it worse and super dry. But she kept doing it even though I told her she was just destroying her skin barrier. She only believed me when she finished the tub and the new one she bought on Amazon didn't arrive when she expected and she started healing
Hi! Just curious why there's an ad for a microneedle roller that says "affiliate" if you're saying they aren't safe? đ€
Thx I'll be throwing some things out.
I used tea Tre oil on a BAD burn and it was amazing!!!
So what do we use in replacement if the loofah?
That purple protector sunscreen is amazing!! I just ran out, I got to get more! Hahah! So what do you suggest instead of the poof To wash with?
Washcloths
Can you make a skin care that is bad for your face and skin care that is good for your face pls Love your videos thank you for making them
I like St. Ives scrub but I'm gentle with it and keep it brief, and I never used it when I had active pimples. Some people use it like they're sanding a hardwood floor. It isn't the scrub's fault that people don't use good judgment.
What other antibacterial products can I use on my 4yo instead of Neosporin? We live in a tropical climate with tons of mosquitos. He scratches the bites and i need to prevent the wounds from getting infected. Itâs common to get staphylococcus infections here.
for face scrubs i always like to use salt (probably bad, i know). i add gentle cleanser and some water and mush it around in my hand for a couple seconds to make it a little less rough and then rub gently. even when i use chemical exfoliants i end up with so much dead skin on my face unless i use something physical :(
I wish someone had come into my bathroom when I was in middle school and threw out the comedone extractor tool đđ probably would have saved me from years of struggling with acne from picking at my skin đ great video tho! Iâm gonna stop using neosporin and switch to vaseline :)
Thank goodness, i didn't know about that tool when I had acne!
Hey Cass, what would be a good replacement for a loofah?
I'm not Cass, but know the answer! Use a cloth washcloth you can throw in the laundry.
You can dial in the scrubbiness by choosing different fabrics. For little or no exfoliation, use microfiber, high quality toweling, or make your own from flannel. For lots of scrub power, get thin, super cheap toweling cloths.
Ideally, you should use a fresh one every day, so you need a lot of them. Depending on your skin, you might be able to use the same cloth several days in a row. You still need to rinse it well and let it dry completely between uses.
@@lizcademy4809 thank you!
Ok, what should I use instead of loofah? I need to exfoliate gently, without having a whole ritual - is that silicone brush from foreo good?
So how do you even replace a loofah? How to exfoliate these dead skin cells without it?
You can use a body lotion that has exfoliants in it. There are body lotions with urea, aha, bha, and retinol. These are way better than scrubbing your skin as these provide more even and gentler exfoliation throughout your body while also moisturizing it to prevent dryness which a scrub doesnt do.
I have Some by Mi aha bha pha body lotion, but itâs not really great at exfoliation :(
will you please review cureology
1. Loofah - I have a soft one that I regularly throw in with the whites to get bleached. And it dries off between showers because I set a fan to dry off my towel and it also hits the loofah.
2. You would have to pry my bacitracin zinc, neomycin sulfate and polymyxin B sulfate ointment out of my dead hands. I garden every day and get many cuts and scrapes. I use this under band aides and I do think I heal much faster.
3. Scrubs - use them on my feet because I garden in loafers and my feet get very dirty.
What can be used instead of Neosporin thatâs cruelty free?
My friend still uses St. Ides. She also won't wear sunscreen. I put it on every day (sunscreen), but she said she doesn't need it.
Wow, the neosporin was a new one for me. I need to throw that out. What do I replace it with?
Stuff definitely slows down healing
So if not a loofa to use the body gel, so should I just use my hands? Is that enought?
Good question.
Cassandra can you please make a video of skin care that kids can use 8 year old
Gentle facial cleanser like Vanicream, Cerave or Cetaphil and broad spectrum sunscreenâŠâŠthatâs it, thatâs all.
Can you review NuSkin products??
6:35 Number 3, Neosporin (specifically the Neomycin in it) can cause autosensitization.
Definitely throw away the saint Ives!
Well, you could use it up on your feet. But never buy it again.
I have a macadamia scrub but thats for a once a month scrub on my arms and legs.
âBanish to the feetâ đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I do disagree about the pawpaw stuff. I have a small tube of basically just Vaseline with pawpaw, it's probably the Vaseline that works, but I find it useful for insect bites and spot treatment for boils and pimples. But good advice on the rest
I would be so glad to remove the 3 in 1 cleanser from my bfs bathroom. This is the only thing that sometimes touches his face. He also tends to have dry skin so sometimes when Its itching he just puts on highly fragranced and maybe also expired body lotions on his face. Im crying whenever I see that
In my early twenties, I used the St Ives apricot scrub, and I broke out so badly, I still have the scars. I wish I could afford to get rid of them.
Bravo đđŸđđŸđđŸâ€ïž
dying to remove the acure scrub
you will have to wrench my loofahs out of my cold, dead, bacteria-riddled hands đ i love them so much. only use the softer ones tho and replace them fairly frequently. also never leave them to dry in the shower.
also have a paw paw cream đ itâs the brand pure paw paw. theyâre nice but they are fragranced and flavoured with fruit extracts. my skin is cool with fragrance, but itâs true that we donât need it in skincare.
Fragrance allergies can develop over time.
The problem with Papaw Cream is that it contains balsam of Peru which is extremely irritating.
I've run my loofah through the washer cycle with the whites. ( hot water, bleach) đ«§đ«§Washing machine.
Iâm an MUA, but have to study skin a lot! My friend has a witch hazel âtonerâ in her bathroom thatâs really more rubbing alcohol than the witch hazel đ I want to just toss it.
Would hate my bathroom. I literally have St. Ives in there. Best heel scrub for me.
Iâm currently in Acid Time Out đ©
I see dermis on yet recommend u to micro needle at. Home

2) Tanning. People only care about the damage when it starts making them look old.

Love your videos!!
I would throw out spf15 sunscreens if given full reign đ
Huh. I agree with you, but only if replaced with SPF 30 or above sunscreens. I guess...maybe...an SPF 15 sunscreen, although inadequate, is better than none.
I know it isn't skin care but I want to remove ALL BLACK EYEYLINERS from my friend's bathrooms or makeup cases. I think they are aging and so outdated.
