Isn't the reason that Velveta works that it includes stabilising salts? You can just add sodium citrate to your cheese mix and make the most epic Mac and Cheese with absolutely phenomenal cheeses of your choice and never worrying about them splitting.
Thank you!!!❤
Yes, but at this point you're just making Velveeta with different cheese
This. Velveeta has way more of that stuff than it needs, so it makes any added cheeses smooth even if they're normally terrible at melting, like cheddar. Also works when you mix an American cheese slice into a grilled cheese with difficult cheeses.
@@blairhoughton7918difficult cheese is my favorite. I like a fight 🤩
@@cobaltchromee7533 which is exactly the point. Velveeta isn't a good cheese, it just has some of the magic powder in it. Why work with the middle man instead of just adding powder yourself?
My only issue with Velveeta is how much oil is in it, I can't process oils and fats that well and the taste is never worth the sick. If I need creamy I add cream of mushroom to a good aged cheese with a small spoonful of plain greek yogurt for twang. It will give you an excellent cheese pull and full flavor every time.
My family's secret ingredient for mac and cheese is onion powder. Idk why but adding onion powder is like adding love to the food.
Onion in general is a secret weapon for making stuff taste awesome. Beans taste like dirt without onion and like the only thing you ever want to eat when you include it.
Just use very thinly minced onions and use your oil of choice to make them gold before adding the milk and onions, for example. It won't be the same, maybe you won't like it as much, but I'd say it's worth the try.
Not only that, but the oil they use is canola, one of the unhealthiest, flavorless, and low-quality fats you can use!
@@TheLinguisticDove Look up Canola and health. You got your wires crossed somewhere.
I’ve made Mac n cheese from scratch a lot but never tried blending the sauce before today. Never skipping this step from now on. Totally changed my world
I never even considered blending the cheese sauce, gonna have to try that next time.
I did not know Kerrygold made cheese! Their butter is my favorite
Kerrygold is goated
yeah their Dubliner cheese at Costco is a great price too
That dubliner is dope as hell. It tastes like cheddar and parm
The pasta that he jokingly referred to as tortellini is actually cavatappi in case anyone cares. A better choice I think is radiatori, Google it and you will understand.
Oh I have never seen those..thanks
ummm actually its trottole, and this can be proven if you pause on the frame where he shows the bag
and also cavatappi isnt as compressed as trottole is as cavatappi is generally longer and more stretched out
@@kimchi_riceYou’re right! I was on the way to grab another beer from the refrigerator when that part came up originally. My comment looks kind of stupid now 🤣, but I’m leaving it up because radiatori pasta is cool and people should try it.
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes lol all good
it's obviously lasagna
Not going to lie, i have never though a out cooking the pasta in milk. But it makes sense in a odd way.
You've never made Mac and cheese in the microwave?
@@Psilomuscimol once, not a fan. Rather go with the old faithful of stove top
@@rathburnscape6465noob
The basic recipe for mac and cheese is to add pasta to a mornay sauce which is just a flour and butter roux with milk and cheese added. Cooking the pasta in the milk subs the pasta starch for the flour, but they're both wheat starch so it's the route not the destination that changes.
That ain’t basic, basic is cheddar x milk x butter x cooked macaroni@@blairhoughton7918
What is your burner? I love my induction cooktop for many reasons but i struggle with hest distribution in my carbon steel and stainless steel on the induction.
The BEST noodle for mac & cheese is Radiatore. 😁👍
can someone explain his magic wooden hot plate i don't understand
There's an induction thingy built in our something. 😅
He cooks on a gas stove and then just uses the wooden plate to demonstrate for the video
@@adpt_music Exactly. 👍
The irony of this video for me is that the mac and cheese at the restaurants where I live these days has been uniformly disappointing. Tasteless and often mushy
Same.
Honestly, a lot of restaurants tend to disappoint once you've become even a middling home cook. At least when it comes to the stuff that's easy enough to do in small batches/source.
Shoutout Babish W Kai
Is that a hot plate and where did you get it from?
More butter for sure 💯☝️
If you're cooking with teflon cut pasta you should stay consistent and use a teflon coated pan. Otherwise the elbow pasta could snap off or the kraft sauce may even break.
wise words my man, was having the same issue myself for years and this fixed it 🙌🙌🙌
What
I have stopped using teflon. It just wears out. Carbon steel all the way.
@@goffe2282So that it acts just like worn-out teflon from day 1? Smaht.
🤤🤤🤤🤤 cooking th pasta in milk 🥛 is the best technique
Just use prego mac n cheese plus with extra cheese. It so delicious 💕🤣
Is that a wood induction top?
mmm cheese
Try Stilton cheese. Trader Joe’s. One of the best cheese Mac’s.
Squidward....TORTELLINI
Where to by the burner?
I’ve come here to say I have NEVER had a restaurant Mac n cheese that’s better than my own….. whoa I take that back Barton G’s lobster Mac is p-e-r-f-e-c-t-i-o-n!
I mixed it with my kid’s doodles and now we have crayola au gratin
Gonna be honest when Babbish haha (Funny because I was born with the name Babbs) Had the first anime with alvin I thought it was you with a weird voice filter. I want more Babbish colab yall are teasing us ='(
What is he cooking on?
What they said ^^^ I need to know RIGHT NOW.
A CZcams gimmick.
My cat and dog died from heart attack after watching this clip
only 26k this cocking bro is criminally underrated
🤨
Let’s be real. Kraft tastes better than any restaurant Mac.
👍
🧀
Recipe plz
Follow your heart
Yeah bro, just watch Mr Make It Happen recipe on Mac and cheese
Mac & cheese is no way better at a restaurant home cooked & BBQ place is the only so called restaurant that counts
Thank you, Velveeta cheese sauce is responsible for me making the best Mac and cheese I've ever made
So THIS is how I make bulletproof pasta!
mac and cheese without macaroni 😮
in my honest opinion i think water and patience with your favorite cheese is the way to go
I don’t understand breadcrumbs or nutmeg in Mac n cheese
i had cold mac N cheese at a resturaunt, and i threw up
0:05 Just had 10 yr old cheese today. To damm good
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes10 year aged cheese will be moldy on the outside. You cut that part off and serve the still edible cheese on the inside.
And before you say "gross" this is the case of every non fresh cheese, and the majority of cheeses are aged.
@calebangell77 It was just aged so it was 100% fine I'll explain how it works another time
My favorite cheese is 1000 day aged gouda. Only cheese I will actually get. But I also like Colby jack and most others
@@Psilomuscimol How long is 1000 days?? Like 3 yrs?
@calebangell77 It's aged, so it's safe. for the aging part, they like wrap or package the cheese very well and put it in somewhere so it doesn't do bad. Once they expose the cheese, that's when it starts to become bad but not right away, obviously, so its 100% safe
Sexy mac'n cheese is all we need in our love lives
What if i hate cleaning the blender what would you recommend
A maid
Soap and water, blend on high for a minute or so. Clean blender.
Says mac n cheese than uses differient pasta?
Did America throw out all the recipes to make a simple roux when they got rid of all the tea too?
right? why use just the starch of your noodles to thicken the sauce? A roux add so much flavor..
Restaurant mac and cheese has 4x too much cheese to the point of being disgusting. Just give me some Kraft deluxe mac and cheese any day
What does Mexican to prove I’m not racist even mean
I have never in my life considered restaurant mac n cheese better than home cooked lmao. And it’s not even close
I think he meant fancy restaurant mac
To prove I’m not racist
Cheese product isn't fake just not 100% cheese. Also the best Mac and cheese has a blend of cheeses with Velveeta for the texture. And bacon added on top
Mac and Cheese, cheese is just a powder 🤮
@@BrooklynnJacobson-lq8jl . Maybe the kind you make. You can also make it with any cheese that you can get to melt
Sounds like you ain’t ever had real home cooked mac n cheese. My condolences
This was super cool but i still don't know why you had to throw tomatoes at me and call me the n word.
A yo
I mean... it isn't really mac n cheese if you don't use macaroni
What’s that magic powder he puts in everything! 😂
simple answer. it's not
add. mustard. it makes it better. thats the way ive always had it, and it tastes so bland without a little bit of mustard.
It s funny that absolutely nobody in Italy would even get close to it. The pasta name is not macaroni, is not tortellini, and nobody would ever cook a pasta like that. Straight up American inventions. Not bad tho
Did anyone claim this was Italian cuisine?
Bar Keeper's Friend
Hmmmm.... Needs bacon.
bro is definitely racist 🗿
I used Canadian cheese cuz I'm racist as hell.
Velveeta cheese is a rip-off. It's just sodium citrate and cheap cheese.
Just buy a bag of sodium citrate and never buy Velveeta again.
Or get citric acid and mix it with sodium bicarbonate (11:13 by weight) to make your own. Now you have a more versatile starting ingredient (citric acid is good for making sour gummies and rimming drinks and whatnot).
Two words: Bechamel. Mornay. That's all you need to make fire mac and cheese.
Um... Third word: pasta.
I like american cheese, but velveeta is disgusting
Any mother’s mac n cheese is better than any other.
Don’t use dubliner folks. It’s way too damn sharp. Your Mac will taste like mustard.
Stay away from Roni's Mac bar..legit they be capping on their Mac and the noodles sit out in tin bowls all day..and are dry as fuck with skimpy cheap toppings..
1. That’s not macaroni
2. Looks vile
3. Stop
Restaurant mac & cheese isn’t better because they use some magical ingredients. No, it’s just because you suck at making mac & cheese, your idea of mac & cheese is boiling noodles and mixing in powdered cheese with milk and butter. 😅
This dude never got government cheeze as a kid...
Probably not 😂😂😂 he probably grew up eating name brand pop tarts and drinking almond milk
what the hell is a government cheeze
