Mainoo is a talented player no doubt. In the Liverpool match he was challenged by the trio Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Endo. He managed to break out and move forward. Mac Allister is a part of a World Cup winning team. Dominik is the captain of the Hungarian team and Endo plays for the Japanese national team. Phenomenal

Not comparing here but why was it all welcoming when saka and Bellingham got called up to the england team at a young age but when this young kid got his call its a, he's not ready and all the none senses? just cant get it. its just crazy. how ppl are.
He plays for United. Truthfully thats the reason. The whole squad could play badly but it'll be the likes of Rashford and Maguire that get most of the blame. Pleasantly surprised that England fans go easy on Luke Shaw but then again he plays too well for them to say otherwise.

@@Philpot1992 Mainoo is a backup for United who is only starting any games because Casemiro is injured. Bellingham was the captain of Dortmund around this same age, they aren't comparable at all and it only makes United supporters sound delusional to compare them.
@TP-pq9xx He was meant to play a part from the start of the season but got injured himself. Also he has played alongside Casemiro when they are both available?
@@Philpot1992 Bellingham had already played a whole season in the championship before he went to Dortmund. He was a nailed on starter for a CL team before he got called up to England. Maybe Mainoo would have been ahead of Mctominay if he hadn’t got injured, I don’t know but he hasn’t proved it yet like Bellingham did. Mainoo doesn’t have his first career assist yet and I’ve seen United supporters saying he has the potential to be the worlds best regista. It’s actually insane the way any teenager who has a few good games for United is instantly treated as a Ballon d’Or contender.
International Squads should always be selected on current form and the level of football the players are involved with at club level. Mainoo has been given an opportunity after his performances at club level in the National team and he's taken it with both hands. We shouldn't even be talking about Mainoo being selected for the squad, we should be demanding that he's in the starting 11 for the opening game of the Euros.

I’d rather see rice in the 6 and mainoo in the 8 like you said but Southgate is a prat and will probably put him at left back or something stupid. I think Harry Maguire has said he wants Southgate to stay on after the Euros and the FA have said they want to keep Southgate on. Anyways if Southgate is still manager after the Euros, is he gonna pick the same players for the World Cup in North America? Is he still gonna pick Jordan Henderson? Is he still gonna pick Maguire? Henderson turns 34 in June, surely it’s time after the Euros for him to call it quits at the international level and let the younger talent shine.
One of England’s biggest problems is they have a large pool of talented players to choose from. There are talented players in the squad currently but there are also those that aren’t so talented or not as good as they once were and yet they keep getting picked over a lot of young talent who’ll most likely spend the rest of their career not getting picked for England or only playing for the B side.
I can see the value of having a stalwart senior leader like hendo in the squad BUT mainoo looks to be the missing piece in a perfectly balanced midfield. Id like to see rice foden bellingham but i dont think southgate can make that work
If Southgate wants Henderson there because he’s a good a good influence on the squad, why can’t he take him in some sort of coaching role??? He plays two holding so one of those guarantee holding is rice so who are you gonna play in the hold with him Henderson has no legs anymore.. Maddison isn't a hold I don't know what Gallagher is but he isn't good enough and Phillips has fallen off a cliff.. Mainoo rice and Bellingham in a three is awesome

Southgate comes from Generation X (Such as myself). He is the product of that generation, one of its habitual idiosyncrasies being 'clique' culture. England need a much more progressive, objective, open-minded manager that doesn't forge personal friendships with the players, who just ends up 'picking his mates' like a lot of Generation X did and do. Such a ridiculous line of thinking about taking a player who is clearly past it, just because of the 'experience' and cups they've won. That counts for nothing when the opposition midfield keep going past you like a traffic cone.

Ward Prowse is a key player for West Ham and Ross Barkley is a key player for Luton. All three of those teams aren't winning trophies, get out played regularly and have players setting low standards, so good players are key players 😂.
Mainoo isnt a key player for a PL title challenger or CL challenger or even Europa challenger. Utd are 6th, with a zero goal difference and 3 points above West Ham.
I don't think Mainoo, should go to the Euro's, because he plays well for Utd. He needs to be playing better, than Ward Prowse and Barkley.
