Hello. I tried everything you explained here, nothing worked. My problem is, my builtin camera usually works when i start it, but after a while in zoom or skype lets say some 20 min it turns off itself and turns on with black screen. All i see is lightreflections if present. PS: it oftens turns out at breakoutsessions and also once i turn it off on zoom or any other app , all i get is black screen after turning it on. I am really looking forward to your suggestions. Thank you
If you've "tried everything", like I did... check to make sure the damn-near invisible little slider thing right above the camera is moved over to the right. You can barely see it, but you can feel it. Thank me later.

The most common problem is there is a tiny, and I mean tiny, switch, where the glass of the screen meets the frame near the camera that slides a gate over the lens. I've fixed so many Lenovo cameras with black screens due to this - if you can't see the switch keep looking. It's there. They should make it bigger and paint it florescent orange, rather than a black switch less than a millimetre wide and 2 or 3 mm long.

I faced this black screen issue and I did all this video tricks but didn't worked for me . Then I approached Lenovo team, If the camera is red in dot. Above the camera there is a shutter. Move that shutter. Your camera turns on. My issue got solved by Lenovo team😄. Many thanks to them.

Man, i am so grateful, you see, i tried many things except one that was the solution : in the row with all the function keys there is a button to turn off the webcam, so i was crazy trying to figure out the problem and i fixed it when i pressed that button and turned the webcam on, i guess i pressed it accidentally without noticing that i turned the webcam off. the button shows a slashed camera

If you have a newer model Lenovo laptop (2018 and newer), there may be a switch near the camera that either covers or opens the built-in Lenovo camera lens. If it is closed any app that uses the camera will show a blank image. Check this switch to make sure your camera is not disabled." I did this as recomended and it was a switch near my webcam I did not even notice and it fixed it!

Check your camera privacy settings. Scroll down and you will see which apps are using your camera. Just remove them from task manager. (Maybe a virus as well)
1. Troubleshoot the camera app 2. Disable your firewall (watch any video on CZcams) 3. Update your Microsoft Store Apps 4. Uninstall problematic apps like zoom/skype 5. Ensure Camera privacy settings are all good 6. Disable your antivirus software These are all that I can help you with. Hope it helps!

Resetting the camera settings, fixed my HP laptop camera's black preview screen! The camera worked and it would take pictures and shoot vid but i could see what i was taking apic of.. i had been struggling, on and off for a few days, uninstalling drivers, cleaning drivers, rolling back driver, removing device, etc...

to the side
