Did anyone else cheer out when Rich yelled "it's a bone"? I haven't been this excited about a bone since prom night 20 years ago, awesome catch Rich!!!
That made me lol.
Lmfao I’m dead 😂🙈
Lmao🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
I remember that bone, very well, and I nailed it baby.
Listen man, I don't know if a lot of people appreciate what you do, but I sure do. A lot of folks don't realize how freaking tough it is to fly to another part of a country you know very little about and just take a kayak and not only fish in an unfamiliar area, but actually catch fish that you've never fished for before. I have a lot of respect for you man and your dedication to fishing. Keep it up man, so much fun as a floridian to watch a fellow angler have so much fun in our area
Thanks Colby, reading this this morning put a smile on my face. I like when you guys give me great feedback like this! Tight Lines! 🤙🏻
I'm going for a honeymoon to the keys and am taking my paddle boards and some poles. This is super helpful, thanks!
Catching that bonefish really lifted your spirits, It’s funny how you can be dead tired after hours of not catching anything, but as soon as you catch one fish it gives you the ultimate boost
I swear the the fish does it on purpose. Let me give this Jasper a thrill, the shmuck has been out here all damn day.
For sure I was so down and out in my mind.
These videos are so beautifully produced. Good job man
Thanks so much! Means a lot when guys tell me this! Tight Lines!
Thank you for your polite choices for words and exclamations. It really enhances the experience for us viewers.
It’s like I went fishing with u.. I was there fishing .. that’s how I felt watching this ., thank you 🙏🏻
Awesome catch, great video...as usual, Thanks for sharing your adventures Rich.
The holy grail - Finding them is hard; Not spooking them is just as difficult... Poling the flats - paradise.
Congratulations! Absolutely amazing how a fish the dimensions of an average rainbow trout has that sort of strength and stamina.
I know that launch spot!! Pretty sure that road was built for the smugglers to move "product" back in the 70s and 80s. Couldn't be more in the middle of no where. There's a deep channel just off that launch that I keep meaning to fish but haven't gotten to yet.
where is this spot?
Yes, where is the spot??
The flats of Florida is honest to goodness one of the most beautiful areas I have ever laid eyes on. Always a treat when you can do some fishing around there, and a blessing when it's in your back yard!
Dropping that good stuff in the morning
The excitement is palpable!!!! I'm literally pumping my fist for you man!!! I have the same dream!! I've lived in gulf coast florida for 13 years and never been to the keys but that's gonna change in the coming months. Especially now lol. Good shit my dog💪🤟👊
So stoked for you!! I lived in Islamorada for 3.5 yrs and worked those waters via kayak for all of them. I caught Snook, Tarpon and Permit, but can honestly say, don't know if I EVER even saw a Bone. I tried hard to scout them, but never had success. Seeing you achieve what I KNOW is SOOO DIFFICULT made my day!! I was as excited as you were. Nice WORK!!! Thanks for bringing back that feeling. Cheers!!
Rich, you are awesome! Your enthusiasm is infectious....keep it up man ! Come back to Jersey soon.
Congratulations Rich! That's a huge feather in the cap.
Beautiful scenery! Congratulations on the bonefish! Not a bad way to spend a day!! 💖💖

Way to stick it out man that's awesome! Bonefish is such an epic catch especially when you're out there just figuring it out for yourself. Great work!

Haven't heard "boo-yaa"" in a long time!! Loma!! Congrats on the bucket list fish! 👍
Haha thanks Robert!! Hopefully a lot more boo yahs to come 😆
I've never caught a bonefish either, but I was excited as you watching you catch it! I know what my next fishing trips gonna be and where! Nice job!
Driving a Forerunner and operating a Drone at the same time. As Impressive as dodging a Bull Shark😉
Haha 😆 there’s a follow function that locks on to the object that being the car. So then I just basically drive and the drone flys itself 🤷🏻♂️. It’s so cool
What kind of drone is it?
That was great. Congrats
Congrats man, that’s a real accomplishment, we’ll done 👏👏
I remember growing up ... I used to watch the Walker's Cay Chronicles on the weekends. Bonefish became my 'grail' fish. It seemed like such an amazing adventure out on the flats. I haven't even gotten through your video yet, but I knew the word 'bonefish' was going to come out of your mouth before you said it. Glad you're chasing down that experience. I'll watch the rest of the video now. ;)
That looks like my first kayak fishing spot of the keys about 10 years ago! BigTorch? Got lit up by sea lice wading the flats!!! Any day in the Keys is a great day! Great video...as always!
They camouflage themselves from predators, in those sand and grassy spots, that match their skin. But they do feed on the white sand spots on the flats. They're so beautiful!! 🌊🎣 🛶
Did anyone else read “a few hours later” with the French Spongebob accent? Lol
I think I voiced the French spongebob accent when I typed it lol 😂
So happy I wasn't the only one.
BOOM. Awesome. Well done.
I miss fishing the keys. Thanks for posting!!
2 years I am moving down to Homestead, FL and spending my time in the Keys...Busking play guitar and singing..and on my off days kayak fishing for bone fish. I can't wait. Congrats on the 1st Bone it is beautiful.

Mission accomplished ! Great job bud ! Many years ago I caught an 8 lb. Bone on a Mitchell 300 blind casting. Had to chase it so I didnt get spooled.
It’s always that one catch that makes the entire day

unreal man... awesome catch! Definitely on the bucket list is one of the bones...
That was sweet!!! Nice first bone.
As someone who always used the double uni knot I appreciated your take on the albright knot. I need these tips and am not afraid to change. Please continue to let us know what you're doing and why. Thanks.
Love it
Congrats on your first bonefish. Thanks for taking us along with you on this trip. My dad took me bonefishing many years ago, with a friend of his who was a guide. You have to sneak up on them, watching for their flash of silver just out of the surface of the water. What a thrill, right?
Thanks!! Yeah I saw no flashes while out there or any signs of bonefish. Definitely had a little luck but I’ll take it haha. Amazing thrill!!
Living the dream my man.
Great video man! Enjoyed it very much and that Bone Fish won you another subscriber!
Nice job Rich!!

New to your channel but just moved back to FL and plan to start kayak fishing again. (Going out tomorrow in Sarasota area)
Really enjoying watching your videos, top notch quality man. Subscribed and will be watching much more of your channel. Thanks for making your content
Great content ty for the entertainment
A tip I learned from a guide down in Islamorada is that you aren’t actually looking for the bonefish; you’ll never see the actual fish. You are looking for the shadow on the bottom. Sight fishing for bones is primarily done on a slick calm day with little glare on the water, yet enough sun to cast shadows. The best way he put it to me is “remember this, the first time you actually see the fish is when he’s at the boat. You will not see him in the water; you’ll only see the shadow on the bottom.” And he also mentioned mud clouds on the flats. That’s actually how I caught my first bone. We were poling the flat and came up on a mud cloud. I just blind casted right into the middle of it & hooked/landed a bone. Best. Fight. Ever. So much power packed into a small fish.
Or you can throw out some chum and watch them come down the flat…
@@ayo9057 Yes you could. But sight fishing by poling a flat is meant to add the reward & satisfaction of the catch. Anyone can just throw chum in the water; only a few can actually catch them by sneaking onto a school & finessing them to bite without spooking them.
Great job man!!
Really great first bone fish!!! They fight like Hell!
Just popped up on my feed awesome video bro 😎
My favorite fishing in FL. Kayak and some beautiful flats. Bone PB is ~13 lbs at Tea Table Key on a live shrimp. 45 minute fight that exposed the spool core several times.
Great video series. Stay safe with those sharks.
Congrats brother nothing easy about catching them.. They fight extremely hard for their size. Now for the real ghost the permit much much more difficult.. They are the most frustrating and most rewarding fish you will ever catch on the flats. Pretty work man
Just got my new Fishaholic hoodie on Friday. Can't wait to break it in.
Haha nice Chuck!! Thanks for supporting the channel. I hope it serves you well!!
