Used to love fishing the Indian River and banana river when I was a kid multiple fish but now since they dredged out Jetty park fishing has never been the same.
Screwing around with boat launch pelicans is always entertaining. There is always that greedy a-hole pelican that needs to have its beak held while the others eat hahaha

Lady fish make great cut bait for other fish besides Goliath grouper, we catch Spanish Mackerel, trout and a few other kinds as well! Chunk it up, we use a plastic cutting board and keep a clean rag soaked in saltwater to wrap the cut bait in and keep it moist.

Just a tip that might help, shrimp have a horn right behind there eyes, and to give the shrimp the best action and make the shrimp more lively, you can hook it through the horn. But make sure to not hit the brain (Small dark ball)

Never thought of using a jighead with live shrimp, I typically use a circle or a k hook. I'll have to give it a go next time!
If it’s the right size it has a nice slow gliding sink which I think fish like 🤔

When I used to fish in the Florida Keys with my dad we always used to bite the tip of the tail off the live shrimp then thread a jig hook directly up the body from the tail end and poke the hook tip out the underside of the body before you get to the head. Worked like a dream. 😁👍

Went out on a party fishing boat in the Keys once and caught a nice Margate Snapper. So everyone is standing around while they gave everyone their catch. They put our catch in plastic baggies. When they gave me mine, I put it down on a table behind me and a Pelican immediately grabbed it, swallowed it whole in the baggie.
The crew had to know that could/would happen but gave no warning before handing out our catch.

You should get your Shrimp from North Fork Bait shop on US 1, the most lively shrimp I've ever used. Way better than Snook nook.

Nice fish love the sheep they are in snapper family and taste like it too.
I recommend using a smaller j hook with no weight on it. Kind of defeats the purpose of using live shrimp if it can't swim around. Instead use a spitshot about 6" from the hook. And possibly a cork depending on the depth you're fishing

Devin Allen so you think cutting the neck of the fish is more ethical then putting the fish in a cooler on ice?...maybe it is..I don't know, but I do both.
I wish fishing was allowed at Manatee Lagoon, the area was filled with visible tarpon, jacks, and sheepshead, plus a hella lot of catfish
drifting the shorelines first 300 yard near a saltwater lake is my favorite in 3ft of water with drop off or reef nearby

You look like me, lazy rig w shrimp. I seldom bait fish but if I fish shrimp I use a jig head. I think an aberdeen hook w split shot may do better. I like to feed the birds to even if it is frowned on.

Awesome day wasn't it i had that same chopper go over me i was out by the ten cent bridge. Just got a decal cant wait till it gets here. There was 100+ tarpon in Stuart that day watched a couple of dudes fighting one came up to breath Crystal clean deep blue water. I ended up having a great day out there one almost keeper snook one red a bunch of little snook a keeper mangrove snapper. I was using sand fleas.not the greatest but still awesome day out there

Good stuff! Having the advantage of being so close to the water, bring a scraper next time and you can chum them up by scraping some barnacles off the piling. Also I would've liked to see you fish those pilings on that bridge on the way out, it may have saved you from going out that far. Anyways I enjoyed the vid and now you have a new subscriber.

I love these vids and binge watch them in the evening, thanks a lot! I would love to see these fish getting a hard bang on the head before going in the cooler. Don´t get me wrong, I don´t judge that practise. I know a lot of people that do it this way. Maybe someone can tell me what it´s about to just let them suffocate.
