- The following video is my rankings of each of the 32 goal horns used during the 2022-23 National Hockey League regular season. This is entirely based upon my opinions. You are more than welcome to disagree with me. Please leave your comments below if you agree or disagree with any particular ranking. Enjoy!
Methodology:
Goal horns were scored on a scale from 0-10 in each of the following categories. Each category is weighted accordingly:
1) Horn (x5)
2) Goal Song (x3)
3) Special Effects/Crowd Participation (x2)

I’m a lifelong Rangers fan, putting Boston at #29 is a cardinal sin. They are top 5 with or without a real horn. The transition into Kernkraft 400 is SICK.
Strongly disagree, there’s really nothing special about their horn. It’s cheap sounding and has an overused goal song

The Stars goal horn is just the pure embodiment of hype. It's as if Pantera put an entire monster energy can in musical form. The horn itself is also perfect. Loud, powerful, and unstoppable. God I love this team.
In my opinion the Stars and Kraken have the 2 best goal/song combinations. This is going to be a hell of a series just because of that.
Yeah. The Stars’ horn has successfully made me a Stars fan, especially considering my home team is the literal worst team to ever hit the ice.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, as Bruins fan, but in the playoffs a few years ago I loved hearing Hall & Oates whenever the Maple Leafs scored on us at home.
As a Panthers fan, it really hurts that Sweetness was dropped for individual goal songs

Man I went to Sunrise to see the Bruins play them and they kicked our ass but when I heard Sweetness it just brought me back to middle school

For anyone asking, the Flyers horn song is “Celtic invasion”, it’s the entrance music for Becky Lynch, who’s a WWE wrestler.
Man, you're the first person I've ever come across who's BASHED the song 'Don't You Forget About Me', by Simple Minds that the Canucks used. It is a timeless 80s classic, and the thought of someone actively hating it just astounds me.

When they started using that song years ago I first thought what the hell is this crap. Then they kept winning and the crowd kept going nuts and now in my mind chelsea dagger is the quintessential goal song that all other goal songs must strive to live up to.
@colebevans8939 I totally agree, it’s totally iconic and only fits in Chicago. Kind of like the Bulls intro during the Jordan Championship years which they still use now. Whenever the iconic song the Bulls use at home games is played somewhere else it just doesn’t feel the same.
Unpopular opinion: I really like the jarring noise the Oilers goal horn makes, as it serves to annoy the away team

Although I do agree with one thing mentioned in your countdown. The Wild need to bring back Crowd Chant. I was picked for a random survey at a recent MN Wild game. I said bring back Crowd Chant. He wrote my suggestions in the notes and then tried to tell me that the players are the one who picked to replace it with Shout by the Isley brothers. I’m having a tough time believing that, but that’s what I was told

The devils have another thing: at the end of the goal song, they play the ric flair “woo” sound the amount of times that they have scored (ex: after 4th goal, 4 “woo”s are played. The crowd gets really into it
It's the same for the stars, but with their goal horn (4goal, 4blast)😂🤘
The Wild don’t deserve crowd chant, personally I think it doesn’t suit them, what they really need is born to be Wild back.

Scoring player songs as “simply the worst” voids this list. Player chosen songs are absolutely awesome. The player gets to add their own touch to their goals and giving 0 points is complete asinine.
Minnesota’s horn is the best, the lighthouse going off with the fog is the cherry on top

Decided to get into NHL and picked the Predators to be my team on a whim (and found out later that their minor league affiliate is where I live!) and instantly loved the energy they bring, especially at home games! Glad you agree :)

The Germany Soccer Team of Hansa Rostock has been using it since 2001, the Basketball team from Alba Berlin used it in the early 2000's and by the way the Spanish Soccer team from FC Valencia, AS Roma from Italy also had it in their repertoire. 🙄 I've never understood why you modern Americans would use such an old worn out song.

As a Kraken fan born in Seattle, Even if I wasn't a fan of the team, It has song from Nirvana, a band from Seattle, Has a ship horn, (Seattle is close to the sea) and has a cool chant, Like literally our team has everything to it wth lol

Here are some things I agree and disagree with.
I'd say the flames should be top 5, the horn is top 3 in the league, followed along with ACDC and crowd participation, you cant go wrong with it.
Columbus should be top 10, the horn has so much energy, the song is spectacular and the CANNON
I agree that Washington should bring back the siren.
Finally somebody that agrees that the sharks horn is underrated.
The bruins goal song is WAY BETTER and WAY MORE ICONIC than the Kraken.
Isles and Kraken shouldn't be top 5, maybe not even top 10.
Player songs are TRASH I agree,
Florida needs Sweetness back, Vancouver needs Holiday back, LA needs I love LA back.
I think Nashville is a good horn, not sure if it'd be number 1 tho, top 3-5.
In my opinion I think Dallas' song doesn't have enough energy or replayability to be 10/10.

The Red Wings horn used to be great at the Joe. Once we moved to Little Caesars Arena, that was when they changed it to what it is now.

The Hurricanes goal horn sounds like a whale because the Hurricanes used that goal horn back when they were the Whalers.

Crowd Chant is a good goal song but I prefer all teams to have a different one, therefore I think it's good that Wild has changed it.

I like everything about the Lightning goal horn except for the song. Tesla coils rock and the horn itself is from a scrapped cruise ship so very on par with the area. The song to me just doesn’t fit, but idk what they should change it to

To comment on bruins- yes we do sing along to it we even sometimes sing to it before the game starts- it does depend but i will say even when my family hosts a party for the game, everyone does sing to it

my Stars horn STILL remains unchallenged, if the disco balls worked in the the AAC we might've just beaten Nashville.
Really the only special effects we have is the STAR which the players come out of lights up when they score and the horn goal count.
It's good but it's not as good as the Rangers
