Lauren did an excellent teaching job here! If you can not just play but SING Landslide flawlessly, it does signal to me a guitar player who is evolving beyond intermediate level into early advanced level. With Travis picking, anyway! Then you're ready for Lindsey Buckingham's even trickier Travis picking song, "Never Going Back."
After a lot of practice (and getting frustrated with myself) I FINALLY nailed this today ❤ Thank you 😊
That's awesome!!!! Big win.
Most of us like this song. I always avoided the Travis picking style because in my naivety I thought it was a bit too oompah oompah and 'dad' music style. Now I have to develop muscle memory and apply it to everything from rag time to blues and folk. Even rock and roll. Thanks for providing a simple and quite beautiful introduction to it.
Thanks for watching!
This 72 yo really appreciates your talent for guitar and teaching. Thanks.
Thank you!
@@LaurenBateman Appreciate that you sing with chord changes. Really helps.
I’ve listened to this song for decades. I finally learned how to play it. Thank you!
That is great!
I can tell you are seasoned teacher....from a veteran classroom teacher. Thanks for combining your talent in creating a very comprehensive guitar tutorial! Thank you Lauren.
Thanks so much Scott. Always love getting recognition from another teacher. Means a lot.
@@LaurenBateman Your welcome Lauren. I've been practicing Something in the the way she moves by James Taylor....what an awesome song. Do you happen to have a tutorial on that song?
Thanks Lauren. Finally found out of my finding someone who can teach me guitar lessons Especially how u did a close up camera shot to show us where we need to position our fingers in playing chords This is very HELPFUL I have tried to find many other websites over and over So I kinda of gave up on my lessons Til today I found you and where you use CLOSE UP CAMERA LESSONS No other websites do this. This, is again very helpful Ty Lauren and also slowly showing me where others whiz by in their teachings. You take your time and show me everything I need to know. You are the best! Ty
Pam, I'm so happy you like my lessons!! Glad to help you enjoy your guitar
I'm not there yet as a beginner, but this type of lesson keeps me going. This song is a solid goal. So happy we have you teaching us Lauren. Cheers
Happy to help Ron 😊
Hi Lauren I’m not a beginner probably been playing for twenty years, I still love watching other peoples tutorials, I think your channel is great. Your personality and passion shines through😃regards from the uk
I'm so glad!
Awesome lesson! I appreciate your passion for teaching which shows through in your courses/ videos/material. I have learned so much from you in such a short span of time. Thank you Lauren!💗
You're very welcome! This one I really put a lot of effort into. Glad it paid off.
I have to say, I’ve been struggling with playing guitar the way I want to. You have a way of teaching that I’m learning from. I have
ADHD so every lesson just lost me and I’ve been trying to teach myself for 40 plus years. You put it all together just right🤗 You hold my attention,
And I’m so grateful to you.
Thank you so much. That makes me so happy that my lessons helped you.
Thank you for making it easier to understand 🙏
I see "Landslide" as my goal. Once I can play that I'm a PRO! lol
It's a good one. Makes you feel like a guitar player for sure.
I was gifted a guitar this year and it's first on my list to learn 💜
@@christinepeck3098 Wow, you sure are ambitious. "Landslide" is not an easy song to learn fingerpicking with.
Would say if you play this song fluid. your intermediate.
@@notbraindead7298 it's relatively easy if you been travis picking or picking using alternative thumb like freight train etc for a long time .
I love that you break it down in parts, start with chord progression then picking, then put it all together is just what I needed to hear tbh my picking is there but not my chords being clean Enough
Hey Alex, thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed the lesson.
This is awesome!
It’s a smorgasbord of songs I’ve listened to most of my life, very cool and fun to learn to play.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gift.🌹
You're welcome!
Best guitar teacher for complete dummies like me who really want to learn. Thank you!
Aww you're not a dummy. You need a teacher that understands how you learn, talks clearly in a language you understand and goes slow. 😎
@@LaurenBateman
That's right. I've searched on YT and you are the easiest to understand. And so.. i am going to buy me a beginner's guitar in the next few days. Glad i found you. 😊
You're such a fantastic logical teacher!! Thank you for taking things slow and explaining so well 👍🤟
Appreciate that. Thank you!
Wonderful video lesson. That guitar is 🔥. Going to sleep happy and excited to play this jam tomorrow. Lauren is great instructor.
I started learning this about 4 weeks ago and I seem to be improving. Never tried travis picking before I like it ...Thanks
Glad to hear.
one of my fav songs...got the Verse down..you are such a patient teacher...:) thank you!

Aww thanks for the donation. Appreciate it.
Love it ❤
Thanks for watching!
Not only is she a great teacher but she never ages....How does she do that? Does playing guitar keep you young? Well it just might be true...
It does!
Thank you for this lesson and breaking down all the sections!!! I have been learning the beginners electric bass, but acoustic guitar is new to me but really want to play this song for my uncle. Luckily had 2 guitar lessons to help. Maybe it's a good target for this coming month.
Awesome. Good luck!!!!
Best tutorial on this beautiful piece. Thanks so much!
You are so welcome!
Love it. Thank you.

That's awesome!!!!! Make sure to give me a thumbs up on the video so CZcams shows it to moree people. Thank you so much.
You are an excellent teacher.
Thank you!
Cool ! still trying to get use to finger picking patterns.
That's OK. Practice makes progress.
Great lesson and what a beautiful voice you have.
Thank you kindly!
Love Fleetwood Mac, nice tutorial.
Me too!
Thanks! great lesson
My pleasure!
Great lesson but I LOVE your voice!
Thank you!
Great lesson
Thanks!
Thanks Lauren! This was very easy to follow!
You're so welcome!
Excellent and clearly explained video thanks
Aww thank you!
Thanks for the Vid! I play this song and love it! Please note this is in the key of Eb, so it's not a "C maj" chord but a Eb maj chord. You're not hearing a C, Am, G, etc. so best to think of it in Eb as it is played and heard. This is important when playing at a jam session and people want to join with instruments that don't use capos.
I'm referring to the chord relative to the capo.
Woh easy to see why Lauren has so many followers just👌
Rock on!
Awesome!!! Lesson!! Do the solo next ! 🙏
Great suggestion!
Excellent lesson

I need longer fingers!! Lol
I was gifted a guitar this year and Landslide is the first song I am teaching myself to play 💜 Thank you for this!! I actually played the G/B chord- my first chord!! 🎉🎉🎉

You are the best musician congrats !
Hello!!!! Thank you.
Lauren, This a Great Video. Always love the Song. You have done a great job explaining it and breaking down slowly. When I started taking lessons it was on a Classical guitar. So I'm familiar with finger picking PIMA. Thanks again I have to keep working on it. David R.I.
Awesome! Thank you!
My favourite song, thanks Lauren 😉Great tutorial ❤
My pleasure!!
@@LaurenBateman Hi Lauren, just a quick question if I may. I have thick fingers and am struggling with the `C` chord on my dreadnaught guitar. (43mm nut width) I wonder if I should have bought a classical guitar with wider string spacing or is it more a case of practise? I have only been playing a few weeks- thank you
Funny thing, I originally set out to learn Gordon Lightfoot if you could read my mind and I noticed a similarity In Chords in 1 part. So I looked up landslide To see if that was correct and it was. Finger picking is something I've always struggled with And your technique of teaching is really "clicking" with me . I feel like a door has been opened and you opened it for me, Thank you
Rock on. I have a video on the Gordon Lightfoot song too!
This video is really helpful.
Nelson glad to hear
Love it ! Great job!
You're welcome
Excellent lesson, thank you so much. I hit that SUBSCRIBE!
Aww thank you for the support!
I gave up trying to learn this a while ago based off other's versions 😕.
After about 6mins of your vid, I've decided to work up my wrist strength again and am confident I'll be able to nail this song... FINALLY! thanks!! Subscribed 👍!! 🙂 🎸
Hey Jediscoobs, thank you so much for subscribing. Glad you enjoyed the lesson.
Glad u nailed it She uses a Close Up Camera view Totally awesome idea. No one else uses this except for Lauren
Back to landslide , happy holidays Lauren.
You're welcome
Nice! Your voice is amazing.
Thanks for listening
Congratulations on reaching 300,000 subscribers! That's only the beginning!
Thank you very much!
Great video thanks
No problem 👍
I like the way you say 'whoa vah' and 'ko roads'.
We are going to go whoa vah the ko roads...
Ha ha
I really like your teaching style and appreciate your enthusiasm and warmth. I've seen a lot of your lessons and until this one, (maybe I just wasn't paying attention?) hadn't realised what a good voice you have.Without the camera, it could be Stevie Nicks doing this song at home. Flattery will get you....well, up to you! Thank you Lauren.
Aww Stuart, that's very kind of you. I'm an alto just like Stevie so I can sing a lot of her music. One of my other favorite altos is Karen Carpenter. Can't quite get her style but I love her voice.
@@LaurenBateman I would imagine she is pretty difficult to 'get.' I play a bit of guitar and am now learning fingerpicking - Travis etc - and my goal s to, wait for it, be able to make a fair fist of Never |going Back Again. That needs a laugh emoji, but any chance you can do a video teaching that song? Buckingham's playing I mean. I won't hold my breath....
Pleas and carrots!

Excellent lesson(s)... I'm an advanced player but thought I'd check out a quick Landslide guitar vid and watched yours all the way through... very thorough and great voice too......Keep it up ;-)
Cool, thanks!
I don't know why I've never looked at this before, guess I always thought I could kind of play Landslide. However your vid has really put it all together for me. Thanks, it's such a nice piece :)
Awesome!!!! So happy to hear that.
Thanks so very much for sharing 👍 This is fun 🤠Never imagined I could do finger picking 🆒🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it and glad it helped.
Very nice
Thanks
Not nearly as difficult as I would have thought.
I REALLY LOVE finger picking.
It's actually seems more forgiving than playing with a pick.
I've only made it through the verse so far. My biggest hang up is switching to that weird chord. It's screwing up my timing. But, I will work that the mechanics of that out.
Thank you for this great lesson.
You're very welcome! Just keep on practicing and you will definitely get it :D
I recommend learning to pick the pattern without looking asap.
If I look at it while picking, I get cross-eyed and lose my place. If I watch tv (or whatever), I can play it over and over with almost no problems.
And, to me, this is easier to play without looking than playing with a pick.
Now, I have to play it with the metronome and reel the timing in a little so its not just 7 notes being playing in order.
Lauren you are so awesome at teaching guitar. Ann Parsons from Newfoundland ,Canada
Thanks so much Ann!!
Excited about learning this! I just got a Taylor GS Mini as my hands have been struggling lately with my full size Ibanez. Wondering if you have ever done a lesson on Mary Chapin Carpenter's I Take My Chances? Thanks for your clear and thoughtful teaching! Much appreciated!
Hi Deb, I haven't done any MCC yet on the site or on CZcams. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Lauren, you are incredible ! I was wondering if you could do a finger picking lesson of Early Morning Rain. The live version by Elvis is an amazing song and a favorite.
Great suggestion! I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list
