And watch that scene again. When Quill punches Thanos, he doesn't use the gaunlet immediately. He throws off all the heroes by himself. Even if they fully got it off, he still would have won.
Why is everyone always blaming Quill? This would have never happened, if Gamora hadn't tell Thanos where the soul stone is or if Loki hadn't give him the tesseract or if Wanda has destroyed Vision's stone earlier or if Thor had gone for the head.

No, Thor was in horrible condition and wouldn't have survived the dark magic. Hulk was the only one strong enough.
Was he the strongest though? The hulk just endured the most damaging and humiliating moment of his life. Clearly beaten so badly that he refused to ever come back out until banner forced him outish. He couldn’t have sent Loki because he would just run and hide. Why not send Thor? Had the guardians not stumbled across the destroyed ship Thor would be dead floating in space.

You neglected to mention that Strange signalling to Tony that this was indeed the timeline they win was immediately preceded by Thanos removing the Power Stone from the gauntlet and using it with his left hand to deliver a massive punch to Captain Marvel. This was a signal to Tony that the stones weren't permanently affixed to the gauntlet, they could be removed. Tony's nanotech armor made for the perfect way to do it "sleight-of-hand" style, needing only to come into contact with the gauntlet for a fraction of a second to swipe all the stones at once.
