    If you ever are interested in the absolute best plugged in sound, check out a Takamine with the CTP cool tube preamp, blended with the Takamine Triax 2. They are made to work together with the under saddle Palathetic pickup. Ole Brad Davis uses them and many others. I am nobody but I played that combination on many hundreds of gigs and havent found anything that sounds better "plugged in" I have some live sound samples on my channel if interested. I am also a Texas singer songwriter musician (retired) from live shows.

    Only 139 of those were made. Hard to believe he left it behind. Worth a fortune.

    Never heard of a reissue in 90s someone posted about. Might’ve been only overseas?

    I really want a vintage Epiphone Excellente and not the import versions because the new ones are Ovangkol back and sides. The vintage Excellente's are Rosewood back and sides.

    Hello My Friend
    Could you give me the 2 measurements of the width of the shoulders and the bottom of the guitar?
    Kind regards

    If someone had told him how much it was actually worth he might have had second thoughts about giving it away!

      This guitar is a 1990's reissue, with player wear and repairs, probably worth around $750. Matt's Gibson J-200 was stolen shortly prior to Jack giving the guitar to Matt, and Jack had / has plenty of guitars. When friends are in need, it isn't unusual for guitars and gear to get passed around among friends.

      @@elevenhundredsprings2632 Oh I thought it was one of the tiny number of 1960's American made Excellente's

      @@elevenhundredsprings2632 I didnt realize there were 90's reissue's made as well as the recent Indonesian made masterbilt reissues, do you know where it was manufactured if it was made in the 90's I'm assuming Korea?

  • @Edward1312
    @Edward1312 Před rokem

    The guitar featured was part of a short run made in S Korea 1992-94, is not all solid wood and has a two piece back with excellente written over the inlay on the mother of pearl on the headstock. The new Indonesian made reissues are better than this one IMHO and more like the original USA made guitar because they are all solid wood, have a one piece back and can be differentiated because they dont have Excellente written on the headstock like this one.
