I've been drawing since preschool, now I'm almost through elementary school and now art is getting harder at i get through expanding my pallet and making my handwriting better and better and sometimes people ask me: "Your art is great! Can you draw me?" and i get super annoyed and they even say my art looks weird even when i try my best and they even say that i didn't even draw the picture.. i hate it. I'm trying to find my true self and ive had lots of trouble. i will never stop though and i will keep going!

Absolutely keep going!! I went through the same thing around that age, everyone thought my art was weird/bad. But time always proves those things wrong. Just keep going!! Enjoy the process!

I myself am on the older side of the 20's but I still consider myself a young artist given that I'm just starting to pecking at it after a lifetime of next to no artistry. I've barely started because finding a medium was a challenge and I spend time working and being indulgent not to mention the endless fears and anxieties regarding the future and whether or not it's even worth it to continue. I've found a medium, drawing and a bit of writing, more to come. Regardless I haven't worked on a major project of my own though I feel the need to kinda get a perfect or at least good form till that but I'm abandoning that concept a little. Should I learn all the fundamentals first or should I just dive into what I want to do learn as I go?
I know I aughta just follow my heart, and it just says learn as I go. Anyone got any encouragement to go that way is what I'm really asking.?
learn as you go. set a goal to create something you care about in your medium, because that will keep you motivated. when you hit a wall, look it up. you will hit many but will also learn incredibly quickly with google. repeat until you complete your project. then set a new goal that youre passionate about. i learn stuff this way usually cause theory can be boring when you dont have an understanding of the bigger picture and practicality of said theory.

you have my eager encouragement, I always say that your own project is one of the most important things to have as a growing artist. What are you working on now? What is your own project/passion project? You should always be asking yourself this and have an answer. Experience is the best teacher. None of us will ever be totally ready or perfect or "good enough" to start a project according to many self limiting beliefs we may have, but we have to leave those behind. Most importantly, your heart is telling you to learn as you go, that's the only permission you need. Listen to it and follow it
