- Lots of different perspectives on this one. In this video I will be talking about whether or not it worth to drop a quarter million on a new Peterbilt. It might seem like a scary number but when you are able to get these trucks going full steam it suddenly becomes a less daunting number. There is not much better in this world than a Shiny new 389 Pete. For anyone trying to get in Contact with Steve here is contact info

Im 20 got my class A and gaining experience as tractor trailer also saving up for a dump truck, doing my homework on permits, certifications, etc and looking to apply as a dump truck driver for a company hopefully soon to gain experience. Thank you for this information *I live in San Francisco, Norcal*
First of all congratulations ace..made these videos a long time ago. Rates and prices along everything has changed quite a bit, but the principles are roughly the same. Best of luck 👍
I live in Lancaster looking to get into the dump business.
Imma be honest its a hard time right now to break in to the business at least in San Diego. Finding a decent truck is so hard right now. Not sure what it's like in Lancaster but wish you the best brother.
Thanks for the kind words James! Effort equals results buddy, keep on trucking and keep posting these great videos to help truckers
Smell of asphalt is in my blood as well, I used to do asphalt and asphalt maintenance. Drove the Tri-Axels, Tanker truck, Paver, Roller, Skidsteer, Loader, Back Hoe, and Line Striper with new layout. Worked it 25 years until my back and knee gave out. Watch jumping in and out of equipment its brutal on the body.
I’m planning on starting my dump truck business early next year and all these videos are crazy helpful, funny enough you mentioned Sylmar, and thats where I live at. Thanks again
No problem I love getting these comments it makes the time I spent putting together these videos well worth it. Make sure you hit up Steve @ the Rush Peterbilt up there. He is hands down the best salesman I have ever worked with he will take care of you.
Thanks for the knowledge I’m looking to start my own trucking business and your videos are very helpful
Rock On 🤘 Best of luck to you, it's hard but it's totally worth it.
Good info
While I agree with you on every point I advise people to start with a used truck number 1 reason if you don't like the business you don't have too much skin in the game. 2nd reason you learn mechanics behind the truck faster because you fix more stuff. 3rd higher profit if you own the truck
Dependable is very important !!! I know this from experience when I bought my truck for 8k
You got to pay to play
Videos are fantastic. In the world of construction etiquette, would going out on your own and getting licensed be considered “burning bridges” with your old employer? I did that and now they won’t even answer a text. I really enjoyed working with my old employer he was a great boss and so were the workers. Also what’s your opinion demand for lowbed owner operators? Thanks 👍
ECM and fuel pump are modern. But I’d say 90% of trucks are the same. Definitely fixable if you want
Hi I've watch ur channel for awhile now and what u said in end of the video, I've been saying since 1974 , than load back then would pay for ur fuel that day.
Can you do a video explaining the aspect of paying taxes at the end of the year?
Hey brother me again I really want to get into the dump truck business I have my class B. I currently drive mixer trucks for a company so I don't know much if anything about the dump truck business. How do you think I should proceed
Well first I would recommend you get your class A. And then try to talk to as many people as you can to see if you could keep a truck busy at least three days out of the week.
@@Mr_Get_Muddy are dump trucks not class B?
@@Mr_Get_Muddy like the strong arms or super 10s?
I think dump trucks are considered b license but life will be way better if you can tow trailers and have no limitations it will really open up the possibilities.
I like how on all of your videos you never once talked about the hourly rate that you're paid by the customer in other words what the truck is making either by the mile or by the hour that's the most important part of this whole business is what's the going rate to the truck you don't even say what it is
Not sure if being sarcastic, but in the trucking video part 5 I did touch on an hourly rate for the southern California area. But anyhow thanks for watching the videos I appreciate it.
No this is the problem you had me dieing Haha been there said that got the t shirt
