Just to share.. I played in Elemental - Ramuh.. i joined a duty roulette for Trial and while in cutscene, I somehow didnt check that my game time has ran out (i used crysta, not CC). So, I tried my best to purchase crysta and buy the game time again as fast as I could, so that I dodnt miss the encounter and dont want to be a burden for the group. It took me around 4 minutes to complete the purchase, and guess what!? The other 7 member of the duty didnt pull the boss and literally waited for me to come back. They all /clap and /cheer when I logged back in into the duty (it was tsukuyomi fight). True story man.
Gotta love the ffxiv community.
The sneaky best feature, not best overall but one you don't think about, is not having to loot corpses. I don't know why but it's just so nice not to ever have to think about that sort of stuff.
I feel ya. I remember that was a problem for me in Dark Souls 1.
I couldn't just kill enemy & move on.
I had to wait 5-10seconds after each kill to see if a drop loaded in o,o
Did a comparison and it saved my game time by a 100 hours by not looting corpses
The downside being I can't choose to not pickup junk and end up with a full inventory
@@rolder50 I understand that pain, but with how fast it is to discard items while running normal content I still prefer the auto loot. That is as a pc player tho. I imagine dropping items while running a dungeon could be hard to do on console.
@@rolder50 as a free trial person who doesn’t have access to retainers or market board, I feel the pain. But at least on PC its easy enough to clean out your inventory of junk when you are traveling or waiting in queue. Not sure on console though.
XIV has done what no-one stuck in WoW could ever have expected. It showed that an mmorpg can be... Fun. Without being an asshole to your playerbase.
But WoW USED to be like that. That's the problem.

I switched from wow to ffxiv in 2019 during the middle of BfA, way before all the blizzard scandals and just because the story was garbage and I was bored and sick of fighting the horde while playing horde. I was like "If I wanted to fight Sylvanas, I would play Alliance. Fuck this shit."
The scandals that followed just convinced me, that I made the right choice.
But I still watched captain grim and other wow content creator's videos because they were so good!

The great thing about FFXIV is that even older gamers that have jobs and family have time to play enough to keep up, and that without stressing about it. They can even take breaks from the game without falling behind.
That imho is how future mmorpgs should do it, have enough content that people can do rather then a lot of content that people have to do.
I like that I don't have to feel like being in a rush to complete the new contents to catch up. Even if I don't complete main story quest or get the newest gear, the contents will still be there. I also like that every expansion and patches feels like adding to the game and how it won't become obsolete when new expansions comes out.

The truth is, he and his team are so involved and in tune with what the community wants, the overall feedback is so good, and their update schedule is so consistent that he's confident enough to say that without concern.
Yoshi-p is one of the most based people you'll ever meet. Well, you'll feel like you've met him because he's so personable in his videos, messages, and streams. He doesn't bullshit and genuinely wants you to be happy and enjoy your time. It just so happens that he's incredibly good at producing and directing a product that generates millions in revenue :D
There is a short list of people I idolize that I've never met. Naoki Yoshida and Robin Williams are on that list.

People are slowly waking up to that manipulation that's grown to common in the mmo space. Here's hoping customers start demanding fun instead of chores.
There are no chores in FFXIV honestly. All content is viable. Beast Tribe dailies are quick and easy and there is no rush. Savage and Ultimate content is there when you want to do it and find a group. Extreme is a lot of fun as well and not quite savage difficulty but the fights are great either way.
@@minuette1752 the only things that could be considered chores are Eureka and relic weapons, but from what I've heard they're nothing compared to what wow players have had to go through

Of which eureka was a bore when it first released it was so bad. Oh just follow the hunt train and hit the mob once and rince and repeat until Max level (60). Some of the worst content
@Ray Lanfranco They made it much much easier. The grind of leveling is vastly deceased. Which make sense since its outdated but when it was current, that shit was horrible. At least they learned with Bozjan that mounting from the beginning is a must
The part of FFXIV that won me over completely is the lack of pressure for sure. I'm still in the 50s doing post-ARR quests but I decided after beating ARR to get my botany, mining and fishing all to 50. The entire time I felt no pressure to keep progressing the MSQ, no pressure to shoot straight to 80 and get all the best gear so I can run Savages or Ultimates or whatever the top difficulty raids are called. Even with an entire DLC coming out that is said to be longer than the last, I don't feel pressured to hurry up and finish Shadowbringers. My friends and I are enjoying the ride and I'm genuinely loving it.
Lmao this is me too. I'm still in post ARR while leveling all my DoL and DoH to 50s...I feel like I should level all my classes to 50 because some I think if you do past ARR, it will be...spoiled because of the storyline...
You arnt wrong, im still in SB after playing nothing else for near 6 months. Ive been leveling crafters, gatherers, 2 tanks, a RDM, SCH and SMN, 1 ARR relic, 2 HW relics, and my birbs. Now Im working on getting my chocobo to rank 20 by growing thavnarian onions, leveling beast tribes, get my other 2 crafters to 70, unlock master recipes, catch up on job quests, unlock a mount at the gold saucer.....
The only thing Im really missing out on is the EW hustle on the MB but I jave 10M gil already
I like Yoshi p encouraging people not to get burned out. I think that's what can ruin a game for someone. If they feel like they have to be on every single day because they feel like they're missing out on something, they're going to get burned out and the game's going to feel like a chore.
I stopped playing wow at the start of cataclysm. And it really stick to me how the game community changed in WotLK and Cata.
I was playing a warrior so I could tank and dps too, but the dungeon finder called me in immediately as a tank (and on my pure dps characters I had to wait around 30 minutes), one time it called me in as a dps, we wiped on the first boss, not because the others were bad or anything, but because some of them didn't know the boss mechanics just on that one. Instead of explaining it/talking about it, they just all left. They would rather wait 30 minutes, than just explain the mechanics to those who didn't know it.
We literally had a guy the other day who died once in the first boss of the dungeon and he just said "IM REALLY SORRY" and left the group

Let FFXIV be FFXIV and you will not be disappointed. The story is really good and it is so much better than WoW. This is coming from a vanilla player who played into Shadowlands but played FFXIV since Heavensward on the side and completely switched over almost a year ago. I wish WoW could be WoW again but sadly that is not the case and I doubt it will change.
I love the majority appreciation, enjoyment, and positive feedback towards ff14. I know it’s probably not the best way to argue with my friends. I just wish i could have them switch and understand the game isnt a race and if we played together we would all enjoy the game. They just decide to hate and ridicule the game due to small details and not realizing the bigger picture. Glad to come around and watch such a great vibe video. Subbed

When a certain black-haired girl crashes into the game to save the raid boss from being overtaken by power, if you don’t get the story, it’ll be annoying and disrupt your gameplay. If you know about these characters, you root for them and you’re excited to see them.

The sync is great, I've played with friends who killed everything and yeah it's progress faster but you don't get to enjoy it.
I've moved that i can just pick up where i left off too. I'm paying subscription but i can take a break whenever i want, however long i want. I can't imagine trying to play WOW where I'll miss all the content just cause i wanted to play other games.

As someone who enjoys farming for things like mounts, FF respects your time. You have 99 attempts at a mount before its guaranteed from collecting totems. Or if you get the mount you can turn those in for weapon glams. If you don't want the weapon you can desynth it for a chance at an item thats worth a decent amount of money.
Wow on the other hand restricts me to once a character per week. No token or totem system to guarantee I won't waste months to years grinding for a mount. Most weapons in old raids are 6g and are almost not worth picking up unless your on a high pop server and can sell an xmog. You can if you have the right profession desynth it for crystals that can be sold but arnt worth much in comparison to a rank 4-6 legendary.
All in all, WoW does somethings right but the execution has been bad. Who wants to grind ICC for months to a year for Invincible in 2021? Like do I need to have 50 level 60's grinding every week to actually get a mount? Is that even healthy and does Blizzard care? You know there are people out there crazy enough to do it.(I only have 9 level 60's[201-226ilvl] and around 20 characters above 50 to farm old content so I was halfway there)

If you think anything outside of Mythic raiding is hard..... its really not.
M+ is easy but why be bothered rerunning the same 8 dungeons for over a year. The twice a year timewalking legion dungeons are just a quick grab for some easy forgiveness.
The only thing "hard" for me is pvp. I don't care anymore about pvp between either 1 shots or dampening pvp isn't in a good spot for my enjoyment. I also don't have all day to study just other classes cds to know what to wait for before blowing all my cds.
I have over 20 alts. For mostly farming a .1% mount. Once a week. How is that good game design? How is that respecting my time? Must I play this 40 hours a week alongside my 40 hour job. Because I was. It made me angry and exhausted for what? Another chance at firelands birds.
Wow isn't hard. Its solved before it comes off the ptr. Weakauras are ready and DBM as well.
Stop shilling for a broken buggy game that until recently didn't give a fork about you, your time, what you play, balance, world building, story telling, or being decent human beings. You won't get an extra month of sub. Or brownie points on CZcams.

@@masterpain7742 No thats about it. Pvp is probably the most difficult content in WoW. But that has nothing to do with WoW. PvP in most games is the hardest content. There are better experiences for it out there. Imagine guild verse guild. You can't because WoW would break. Did you ever take part in the Battle of Nazjatar lag fest?
Last time I checked PvP is balanced every now and again. Either its quick matches with one shots or it goes into dampening. I know Savix is mostly a rank 1. I'm shit at it but I don't see the point at getting good. For what recolor of a mount? A title? An ego boost? I don't judge how you spend your time but your indulging in belittling mine.
But, ignoring 90% of the people who play the game because 100% of its jank is a bad take. You want more Twilight Devastation? Or Divine Toll? I could go on with broken pve abilities ruining your part of the game that constantly bleed over because of stupid game design. You have to grind the same garbage rather than just playing what is fun for you. Wow could make fundamentally healthy changes to the game for players and make everyone happy. Instead, you try to shoo away more players dooming the game in the long run.

I'm really looking forward to the new "Island Sanctuary" mode in Endwalker. It sounds like an Animal Crossing-esque thing to do where you get your own island and you can build stuff on it. It also seems like it'll be their way of doing instanced housing, which I'm really happy about.

Regarding the Furry thing:
I got into a debate with someone about it cause they REFUSED to believe WoW has furries/etc and FFXIV is FILLED with them.
In the end along with others who agree'd with me, I pointed out that Furry was Anthromoprhic charactets, walk n talk on 2 legs, moves and talks like humans but, literally has animal look, face, fur body etc. WoW has Tauren, Vulpera, Worgen, Draenei *Space goats so KINDA?*, Pandarens, you can turn into Cats/moonkin/bear/etc not furry but, you know what I mean. FFXIV's only furry is Hrothgar.
In the end they then go into saying:
"WELL ATLEAST IN WOW THEY MAKE SENSE WHY THEY EXIST! THERE'S A WHOLE LORE BEHIND SO ITS NATURAL FOR THEM TO EXIST IN AZEROTH! NOTHING MAKES SENSE IN FFXIV!!!"
So I asked. "...Have you, read the lore behind the races of FFXIV?
Them: "NO WHY WOULD I!?!?"
Me: "...You know just, stay in WoW. =/ Take care mate."
True moment, went into raid and 5 pulls in, it degraded into a fast food tier list [insert nest meme here] and would last for the next 2 hours of our planned raid. Safe to say, raid did not happen. In the end, Chipotle was not ranked highly, and it was determined Five Guys was overpriced.

Great bonding moment
I never played wow myself, since i am not a PC-gamer, so i cant judge anything about it. I witnessed a few new people (most of the time sprouts) by now in duty finder, who excused for mistakes that caused wipes and left. I guess they are coming from wow. So please, if u know people from wow who might be used to it: tell them not to leave after wipes. U can go again and try better on next try. As long u are trying to improve and listen to advices, no one would kick u. And dont be afraid to ask in chats. Most of the people will help u and are glad to share their wisdom.
Yoshi P and FF14 have figured out a key concept of motivation that currently no other game company with a live service has figured out. That extrinsic motivation (WOW saying hey you gotta do this) is very short term gains as it burns people quicker with fewer people coming back but if someone plays a game through Intrinsic motivation where they play the game cause they love the game they’re more likely to keep with that game even if they leave for a little bit. Basically the way to make more money in the long run is actually doing exactly what Yoshi P and the rest of FF14 is doing where they’re minimizing extrinsic motivation to create a larger core group of players that play through intrinsic motivation and they’re reaping the benefits massively.

Coming off of WoW, I actually really appreciated being able to one-shot old bosses in raids and dungeons. Made farming for mogs and mounts a LOT less tedious.

You’re able to unsync things, I know ARR content can be solo’d but I think HW and onwards still needs at least 3-4 people but only takes like 5 minutes per run, if that.
YoshiP is a great guy. I played with him a while back in ff11... Guy pretty much was a mentor about what I should be doing with my Puppetmaster.

The difference between FFXIV and WoW to me is the comradery. FFXIV it's a very friendly and caring kind of atmosphere during raids and dungeons, and in the cities. In WoW it's Go,go,go,go!!! Kick... you suck kind of mentality. Then your by yourself.

I have played wow from 2008 to 2019 and gave my ffxiv character the same name as my wow character.
To this day, I always get a lot of whispers from new players who ask me if I am the same person as the one in wow with that name!

@@eithiana1602 Gameplay/combat as a whole, forced story, leveling process/quest design, class progression and the apparently dead/irrelevant pvp.
@@ItsSwissBeatz yeah ARR can be a bit boring to get through. I know lots of people love it for the reasons you hate it (me). But I know it's not for everyone. It's got to be hard when everyone else is raving about it.

Oh I love guys like you, let me guess, you got a healer on your expert roulette that didn't DPS so you decided to tell him how he should play the game? How dare he inconvenience you with 5 extra minutes on your totally inconsequential content? Everyone knows that any community has bad apples, if you think the shit you get in XIV is even close to comparable to WoW, you have no idea what you're talking about. I wanna see you go pug some m+, get rejected 20 times and when you finally get a run, it fails because you wiped, everyone called each other nasty names and left.
Oh, we know. The thing is, they're not the sort of snowflakes that make us NOT want to try content. The biggest barrier to WOW's endgame has always been playerbase.

WoW is a PvE game as well. Also FF having PvP with no gear stats is actually already more PvP player friendly than WoW :).

@@WeaponxiD WoW has more PvP content, does not mean that this PvP content is good tho - gear stats in PvP wiht insane power creep is really bad for PvP and the class balanced where some classes literally kills you in 1,5s (when the class has access to a 5s stuns as well xD) is not good either. At least you dont have BS like that in FF even if there is limited PvP content. But again I never said FF is a PvP game, I just said WoW is not PvP game either :).
