I found your channel after discovering your podcast. I really love how you genuinely advocate for trying to make people's ferrets lives better while also not being cold or condescending towards people who can't make changes as large or as quickly. Videos like that can quickly make me feel isolated and unwelcome, small things like you taking the time to say "I realize not everyone is in a circumstance to 100% free-roam" really make me feel more welcome in your videos/podcasts. I can't wait to learn from you and do better towards my catsnakes!!
So comforting to see U use the "Instinct Raw" cat kibble! I switched off of petco's Marshall kibble as soon as we got them! And now I plan to use the Instinct kibble as I transition them to raw meat. Thank U for this video! Trying to learn all I can on this. Very helpful!

I tried your method of chicken soup and dip my finger and let him try it. Slowly but surely only took 3-4days maybe a week for him to eat the soup all on his own . like he wanted it. He seeked it out and ate the what looked like chicken pudding bur ate till he was stuffed and tis now sleeping it off. Thank you cause ive had ferrets in past but I wouldnt of switched tonraw without have seeing your videos. Keep it up . stay safe. Wash ya hands

My ferret is so stubborn! I have tried every technique you have demonstrated and he would rather starve than switch from kibble to raw. That's why I decided to just get him the best kibble out there. He is so stuck on his kibble!

Hello so I have a question there is a raw diet meal and it’s called Big dogs for cats so basically raw food for cats and it has all these really good things and would be way better then pellets they have rabbit kangaroo and turkey with bones etc And it’s comes in a patty and frozen so u would defrost and give. but if I want to transition the ferret to it should I take a good amount and ground it with water to make it more like a soup and gradually less water each time until I can let the ferret have the patty form or do u have a better suggestion

I want to start feeding raw but I am so afraid of messing it up. I saw your video on Ziwipeak and thought about transitioning to that rather than taking the leap to raw. Ziwipeak is expensive but for the quality I am okay with the price. Would feeding raw be more expensive than Ziwipeak? I have 2 ferrets, 6 months old.
How often do you feed a ferret and can I only feed it whole prey? If so how much can it eat?
I'm currently trying to transition my five year old rescue ferrets to raw but they've been having some pretty bad tummy troubles with it like really liquidy poops and one of them is vomiting the soup back up. Have you ever had anything like this happen or do you have any advice?

Hey! So I want to feed my ferrets raw but I am just too nervous to switch and be in charge of preparing the food. (Afraid I’ll mess up the measurements) Could I simply just feed them from Darwin’s pets? www.darwinspet.com/product/raw-cat-food/ Or would I need to supplement it with anything?? Are their any cons to feeding only that? Would the lamb formula be ok? I know chicken and turkey would be but I’m not sure about the lamb. Are there any other options for already portioned prepped meals?
Where do you get your meat from? My 6 month old baby is hating her new kibble and only likes Marshalls and the Wysong, but Wysong is too much for her and causes her to get tummy upset. I’m suspecting she may have IBD and wanting to start her on the raw transition, but not sure where to get the meats!
If your ferrets are on kibble can your put water in the kibble to make it soft first they’re used to the texture of chicken soup

When feeding them a raw diet, do you always give it to them completely raw, just cut up? Or do you cook some of the meats, like boiling chicken then cutting it up? I'm thinking about transitioning my ferret to a raw diet, but I don't want to do it wrong!
Andrea Pyle always completely raw! Cooking removes a lot of the nutrients. Also, cooked bones can splinter.

Mine is 1 year old, one is 6 months. I hope they get it a little easier because so far it’s not working. I know they like chicken because that’s the type of food I feed but she isn’t sure abt the raw chicken.
I’m hoping we can find a way to get our new boy to eat meat. He will refuse anything that’s not kibble. I’m going to apply your tips and give this another try. 😀

Will i still need kibble during the process of turning the ferret into a raw meat eater? If so what kibble do you recommend or used to use?
Many Adventures depends on how quickly they catch on! :) some switch right over immediately, some need weeks of coaxing! In that case yes feed kibble to ensure they are eating enough. I have done kibble in the morning and raw at night during the switch.
The only kibble brands I would ever use would be Dr. Elsey’s clean protein or Ziwipeak. I have not personally tried either of these foods, I only like what I see with the ingredients.

How do you make the soup? Is it just chicken or other ingredients as well?

i’m a new ferret owner i got mine 3 days ago and he will not eat at all and i’m really scared that he will starve so if u can help me 8 would be so helpful
He hasn’t eaten in 3 days? You will need to take him to the vet ASAP! Something could be wrong internally.
Are you feeding a different food than the one he was on when you got him? If he came from the store or a shelter there’s a good chance he was being fed Marshall’s Premium Diet. If you do not have any, pick some up. It’s not an ideal food, but the situation requires it. If you gave him an entirely new food he may not want to eat it. Keep me updated!
Bryn Katharine yes i feed him marshall premium ferret diet and sometimes i try putting chicken in there too but he ate just a little bit

Bryn Katharine it’s all ok he just wasn’t eating kibble so i gave him chicken breast and he feasted so it’s all good but thank u for your concern
Why do you have blue tape around the edges of the wall?
we weren't finished redoing the floors yet so in the meantime we used tape to make sure the ferrets wouldn't put stuff into it.
Should i have a bond with my ferret before transforming its diet?
Many Adventures not necessarily! Bonds take time

When transitioning them to a raw diet do you start by feeding them their kibble in the morning then feeding them raw at night?
Nikki Max you can do that! I did that for awhile with Pazu and Howl. They were trickier to transition. With Appa & Momo I did that as well if I was worried they weren’t getting all the nutrients yet.
If you find your ferrets are taking quickly to the raw, feel free to dump the kibble as soon as you feel comfortable.
im having really hard time transitioning my ferrets to raw
I live in Australia so it's hard to find hearts, gizzards, organs etc. What's some easy meat and a simple diet i can feed my ferrets daily?
a lot of them like eggs. you can do raw or cooked eggs. mine wont eat them but other people have had luck with that.

No, you cannot feed both kibble and raw long term. Feed the dry until they are transitioned to raw.

hey! i’m working on transitioning my ferret to raw diet but i’ve just found out the food he was fed in the store contained peas :( and i would like him to stop eating it immediately. i’ve looked into dr elseys kibble because i’ve heard it’s good! and i was wondering if it is okay to feed him that kibble while i transition him to raw :)
I know this is old but for other readers; yes and yes.
But I highly recommend looking into dried meats as a kibble substitute instead. The cheapest ones that are still great with no bad ingredients are ones like Ziwi Peak, Vital Essentials, Catit, and Zeal. Even if you fail with the transition, you can rest assure knowing you're giving the next best thing.

My ferret loves egg yolk, but I only feed her kibble but it’s expensive and I just found out that it’s not healthy for her. I love my baby and I hope she’ll eat meat without a problem.

Love your vids. I wanna make a shirt lol. Told my son I was gonna make him shirt with his ferrets face so he can show off at school if we ever go back. We are planning to switch to raw diet with snuggie but he thus far shows no interest in any real meats. Marshall's when we got him and since he found the cats bowl he likes there solid crappy cat food more
