In this video review we look at the Shark ION Robot 750. We discuss what’s in the box and discuss each item provided including the botboundary tape. We also highlight run times and battery charging times.
We point out the vacuum dimensions and weight and also report that it is very good at getting under very low furniture such as beds. It is difficult to get under beds with most conventional vacuums.
The unit has cliff sensors that work well - so you don’t need to use the botboundary tape to block of stairways for example. We run the RV750 on a table top to show just how effective the cliff sensors are. We also test how well the botboundary tape works when we block off an area we do not want the vacuum to go.
We look at the on-board vacuum controls such as “Clean”, “Dock, and “Spot, and we discuss the three battery lights as well as the error lights and wifi indicator light.
We also walk through the mobile app and many of its features. It is available in iOS and Android and can be linked up to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice control (we did not test this). However we have used the app successfully for scheduling cleaning times, starting the vacuum, and sending it back to the dock. We find the app user interface clean, intuitive and easy to use.
We like that the RV750 has a soft bumper on the front so when it bumps into walls or furniture there is no scuffing or scratching. We also find the dust canister easy to remove, empty and reattach.
We were pleased that the ION Robot 750 moved well on our tile floors, low pile carpet, and deep pile carpet. It moved across these surfaces and transitioned from one to another without incident.
With respect to debris pickup, we found the unit worked best on larger debris.
The filter is easy to access and clean - although it cannot be rinsed in water.
