The vagueness of the title "Video Game Guitar Medley" is really what gets me here. I imagine this conversation taking place... "So which of FamilyJules7X's videos do you like best?" "I like his Video Game Guitar Medley!" "Bro, you're gonna have to be a little more specific." "Huh?"
Despite all the other awesomeness you've done over the past 3.5 years... this stands out as your single best arrangement and overall performance. When I introduce other people to you, this is always the one I start with. Just great stuff... still listening to it almost 3 years later.
I gotta say, I never before really realized how damn good this is. I regularly find myself humming these songs in this order on a regular basis, at least once a week. This composition is amazing, and so damn well put together. Thanks for putting this together, for you did an exemplary job on it. Again, thanks for bringing this to us all. We love ya man.
he just played PAX... So i doubt he is a loser since he was one of the better performers there. Then again you are entitled to your opinion, so i won't hound you.
seriously, all your music is inspiring me to pick my guitar collecting dust in the closet and finally learn how to play it more than doing basic chords.
Can't help but think that FamilyJules has already made a HUGE service to not just the fans, but all video game music and musicians in general, now and in the future. Thanks, Jules. I definitely share your love for game music. I'm very inspired by what you are doing, and how well you're doing it 👊🎶
I could literally listen to this all day. Your Elder Scrolls medley straight up is the best medley/homage ever, and your Song of Storms rendition kicks all kinds of butt! Please keep these videos coming!
maybe I should put a timestamp here. After all, ive been coming back to this video since grade 5 - so that would be 7 straight years. What a splendid piece. A true memento to my childhood
The most impressive part is around 7:03, when you play each signature melody from each of the songs you covered. That type of ability to combine all 7 minutes of cover into a 30 second recap made me double/triple take. Very creative.
September 2020 and I'm back for that sweet Gerudo Valley theme that I wish I had the chance to have ya play at my future wedding. Just... the best version of it.
Holy shit, the Metal Gear Solid 2 Theme was amazing. The songs from Zelda also sounds really good on guitar, I gotta admit, Nintendo got some pretty awesome song writers.
6 years later, and I still come back to this medley. It's just a beautifully well done medley and the ending solo always gives me goosebumps. And I think this would also mark my 6 years of dedication to playing guitar regularly, pretty sure I learned my first leads because of dry dry docks and simple and clean from this medley. Eventually I would dive more and more into music which also led me to becoming a music major in college. Thank you Jules.
I was listening to this and thought it was great, but then at that end part where they're all blended together I realized how spectacular this medley is. Holy shit.
how did you figure all these songs out? ive been playing guitar since 91 and i consider myself very talented but id have a bitch of a time figuring all these songs out. im VERY impressed. you fucking rock these songs out. hard. i wish i knew someone like you who lived by me in the chicagoland area to jam with. it would be cool if you would post your tabs. id love to rock out to all these tunes. keep it up!!
JEREMY roy Using tabs does not make you a bad guitar player. You keep practicing and doing what you're doing and you'll develop easier ways of learning music over time.
JEREMY roy im not a good guitar player cuz i prefer tabs??? ive been playing guitar since the summer of 91... do the math... i can play anything. i can play buckethead riffs no problem. any great guitar player i can play their music. i just prefer tabs.. thats all. calling me a bad guitar player is just ignorant. ive probably been playing guitar since before you were born and i play ALOT. been in around 20 different bands. and i actually teach guitar so i think im not a "bad guitar player" as you said. been teaching for 15 years btw
its 2023 and this is still so special to me i always listen to this at Christmas time weirdly ..its so good ! Family Jules it he best Musician i've ever had the pleasure of listening to
I actually think that all these songs were done better in your previous medleys (except for the metal part in Dire Dire Dock) but as a whole song, this was the most awesome thing i have ever heard!! I especially love the part in Simple and Clean when you put bits of the previous songs in it. Never have i been as emotionally moved by a song like this one made me. All this nostalgia almost made me cry manly tears!! By far the best guitar cover of video games i have ever heard. Well Done Man!!
You just earned a sub :D you are one hella good strings player, and this medley is awesome. It makes me feel all nostalgic having played every single one of the hames that these songs were from. And clean and simple was the best ending for this medley, as its the ending song and boss battle song to kingdom hearts 358 1/2 days
hey, been viewing your channel for a long time. i just want to say ive been playing guitar for 10 years, ive been distracted recently by people putting me down and having to work beyond all sensible standards to support myself, ive forgotten how incredible seeing people like you are. its really inspiring, im no where near your level but i believe playing from the heart is good enough. anyway, cheers for the good feeling.
this was the video that introduced me to familyjules awhile back.. and i always come back to it, all of his stuff is pretty great, but.. goddamn that mix at the end always gets me.
The simple and clean is so, so, so great. Especially the ''new'' part. I think that this is the coolest cover ever. Maybe it's time for a reboot of this? ^^
Dude... Congratulations, you're a very talented musician. You can create very creative versions. Sometimes, much better than the originals! I'am a big fan of your work. Keep creating! Greetings from Brazil.
Wow, at the start I wasn't quite sure, but mid way you won me over with gourmet race, and simple and clean just finished it off so well, simple and clean has always been one of my faves, but I think this is my favorite version of it I have ever seen. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video.
Man, when that beat kicked in and I realized you were about to rip some fat distortion into there, I almost cried. One of the best medleys I've ever heard. The gods of metal smile on you.
This video is absolutely breathtaking. Hearing dire dire docks really brings back memories of playing my N64 in the 90's. Thank you for bringing it back, keep rocking on!
Dude..i thought for SURE that i wouldn't like this from beginning to end. But every single one of the songs you played were amazing. Every song played i have an personal emotional attachment to. [Except the Kirby one, that's just a great song] and i can't believe you put them all in one medley. So where as you might never read this, i'm just gonna say: Thanks, that was amazing
Man it’s been five years and damn I still listen to it I love metal and video games two things you wouldn’t imagine going together but when I stumbled on this channel I realized I didn’t have to hide my nerdy ways I love how he puts my favorite things together
really liked how you transitioned into each new piece. Personally the transition into Rainbow Road was awesome, actually the whole of rainbow road was probably my favorite. also nice solo on simple and clean.
Did anybody else noticed that between 7:00 and 7:30 FJ7x played a few notes from the other songs in the medley, 7:03 DD docks, 7:08 Rainbow Road, 7:14 MetalgearSolid, 7:19 Gourmet race (I think), 7:26 Song of Storms, 7:31 Gerudo Valley. Thumbs up if you heard them too.
From the moment the video started I thought I saw an AT2020, then I checked the description and smirked. Congratulations on 100 videos. It's been a pleasure watching you grow as a musician. Here's to another 100!
The way you ended it off with Simple and Clean was absolute perfection. I actually cried from how beautiful that rendition was. The way you started it with the acoustic and then had the drums keep building up and getting heavier until it dropped and the distortion kicked in blows my mind every fucking time.
Oh god, I can't stop coming back to this video, I need help. That Simple and Clean just wrecks my mind every time I hear it. I need more of it in my life.
Man your medley is awesome!!! I used your "song of storms" version for a proyect, obviously with credit, and it gave that punch it needed. Really cool job!
you honestly for the first time in a youtube video put tears in my eyes such beautiful rythm such clear notes you are the most top notched guitar player im speechless accept to say... ROCK ON!!!
Man! A pumpin' rock medley you got here! Must of took a lot of time and effort and the songs and the transitions between songs seems well planned out. It was a pleasure to listen!
I loved this the first time i heard it the very day you posted it. Coming back to it i still get goose bumps when you tie the songs together at the end. I love ya man and hope you keep doin this for a long time. :)
So truth be told,I only just found you, and so yes I'm apparently very late, but listening to all your game covers just made my brain shut everything out and focus all out on you,and your skilled fingers gliding over those guitar strings. Your truly great. Not to mention that I saw some posters of Evanescence, Avenge Sevenfold, Harry Potter, Underworld. I'm a fan of them too. So please consider me a fan as well.If you could, can you do a cover for a band called Halestorm?
Here I am, feeling nostalgic for these days. I still remember the days of FamilyJules7x. When you first released this, it blew me away. This is definitely one video I'll never forget. Don't ever forget your early years man. They're some of the most legendary, at least to me.
These is just absolutely genius, and you're right, they all flow very nicely together :D you improved so much over this year and a half just about? It makes me want to cry its so amazing.
0:00 Dire Dire Docks (Super Mario 64) 1:23 Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 64) 2:28 Metal Gear Solid 2 Theme (MGS2 Sons of Liberty) 3:12 Gourmet Race (Kirby Super Star) 4:08 Song of Storms (Zelda) 4:40 Gerudo Valley (Zelda) 5:38 Simple and Clean (Kingdom Hearts)
I love the contrast in the medley. You have the fans from Legend of Zelda and Kirby, but then you also have a large number of Metal Gear Solid fans. And the best part is that people can discuss their differences without getting into a huge argument. This is epic. Thank you.
After months of listening to this, it keeps giving me the chills everytime, i've lived so much with this cover that my heart just stops everytime i hear it t~t + the nostalgia
You are a fucking genius, Jules, you need to know that. You totally surprised me at the when you played all the theme you juste played in one segment of music, that just awesome. And of course, love your video, especially what you did with MGS2 and Gerudo Valley. Thanks for that :)
you hit Gerudo valley, which is my all time favorite Zelda theme, and a toss up for my all time favorite video game theme ever. whats it a toss up with? MGS, i shit you not. you rock dude. i'm also very VERY glad you didn't pass up the opportunity of such a wonderful Spanish melody on the nylons your sporting.
Dude. You arranged all this yourself? And played most of the instruments? Super impressive. Production quality is outstanding. I hope you continue on in a musical career. The foundation, feel, and understanding is there. Keep it up, and I hope to see you live one day.
No matter how many years go by, this medley still holds a special place in my video game/musical heart. I can never get enough of this.
Same dude, heard it 100 times, and will 100 more
The rendition of Simple and Clean is still beast mode.
Still here
The vagueness of the title "Video Game Guitar Medley" is really what gets me here. I imagine this conversation taking place...
"So which of FamilyJules7X's videos do you like best?"
"I like his Video Game Guitar Medley!"
"Bro, you're gonna have to be a little more specific."
"Huh?"
trumpeterjen I mean, what else was I gonna name it? Haha!
FamilyJules7X Uh, it's pretty obvious the best title would have been "Mario Gear Solid Kart: The Legend of Kingdom Hearts (feat. Kirby)"
+Nick Arnold Metal Gear Kirby 2: Legend of the Simply dire rainbow Road Clean-up (Subtitle: What really happens in Kart Racing)
Sequel maybe? XD
+FamilyJules7X "Simple and clean guitar stuff" xD
Dearly
beloved
Despite all the other awesomeness you've done over the past 3.5 years... this stands out as your single best arrangement and overall performance. When I introduce other people to you, this is always the one I start with. Just great stuff... still listening to it almost 3 years later.
Haha, funny that we both made video game medleys within the same time period! I have not seen this one until now though. :) It's a good video!
Fredde :DDDDDDD
I gotta say, I never before really realized how damn good this is. I regularly find myself humming these songs in this order on a regular basis, at least once a week. This composition is amazing, and so damn well put together. Thanks for putting this together, for you did an exemplary job on it. Again, thanks for bringing this to us all. We love ya man.
Was thinking the same.
Especially at the end when he combined different tunes from each song he played. I loved that bit. From Dire Dire Docks to Simple and Clean..
SAME!!
I'll admit it, I teared up at Song of Storms and Gerundo Village.
You've got a new subscriber in me.

+kidkat279 Same
+kidkat279 the original is kinda really bad imo, but this ones great!
Omg you played my favorite Metal Gear melody! And you do it better than Video Games Live! Almost had me in tears...
This melody is still a legend in 2020
I got goose bumps all over at Simple and clean omg
Lovin' the way you're lip-syncing on Simple and Clean, a true geek
I love how his faces are like he is on a huge concert in a famous metal band, meanwhile he is in his small room playing a super mario song... lmfao.
Christopher Petrovic Dude's doing what he loves.
(Y)
he just played PAX... So i doubt he is a loser since he was one of the better performers there. Then again you are entitled to your opinion, so i won't hound you.
Look who's talking a guy in need for followers since his channel needs them. Such a shame since I like your piano freestyles Chris.
Christopher Petrovic I love how everyone took this as an insult. I'd hate to look like I hate what I'm doing so thanks dude!
That kirby transition, perfect, and then from zelda into kingdom hearts, so powerful. Best medley ever. Definitely better than the first time around.
seriously, all your music is inspiring me to pick my guitar collecting dust in the closet and finally learn how to play it more than doing basic chords.
The nostalgia that these songs bring, and the way they're played in this video by FamilyJules7X actually bring tears to my eyes.
Just discovering this 2019...woah😮🤗
Can't help but think that FamilyJules has already made a HUGE service to not just the fans, but all video game music and musicians in general, now and in the future. Thanks, Jules. I definitely share your love for game music. I'm very inspired by what you are doing, and how well you're doing it 👊🎶
Simple and clean got AWESOME
I could literally listen to this all day. Your Elder Scrolls medley straight up is the best medley/homage ever, and your Song of Storms rendition kicks all kinds of butt! Please keep these videos coming!
Best reprise ever, and the transitions between songs. For some reason this one felt the most emotional of all your medleys.
maybe I should put a timestamp here. After all, ive been coming back to this video since grade 5 - so that would be 7 straight years. What a splendid piece. A true memento to my childhood

I've been returning to listen to this since it was first uploaded, and I never caught this. You sir, have made me love this more. You got a good ear.
September 2020 and I'm back for that sweet Gerudo Valley theme that I wish I had the chance to have ya play at my future wedding. Just... the best version of it.

You have so much talent man, here's another sub
I was listening to this and thought it was great, but then at that end part where they're all blended together I realized how spectacular this medley is. Holy shit.
Omg the Kirby part is amazing :DDD
Mate... when I found your channel, I thought you had amazing talent... when Simple and Clean started playing, you became a god!

I like how in simple and clean you can hear little parts of the others songs. Like how you can hear rainbow road at 7:09
This. Is. Perfect.
Years later it still gets me just how well put together the final "solo" is. Just as impressive and impactful as when this first came out.
MGS FTW!!
What does "FTW" mean?
I actually think that all these songs were done better in your previous medleys (except for the metal part in Dire Dire Dock) but as a whole song, this was the most awesome thing i have ever heard!! You look like a thin version of Jontron.
True madlad
You deserve some kind of honorary "Rocking-your-childhood-memories"-Grammy.
Keep up the good work.
At 7:02, my shit was officially lost.
He repeats each song's motif for each bar of the solo. He just medley's his medley. It's so impressive.
The simple and clean is so, so, so great. Especially the ''new'' part. I think that this is the coolest cover ever. Maybe it's time for a reboot of this? ^^
Dude... Congratulations, you're a very talented musician. You can create very creative versions. Sometimes, much better than the originals!

Oh god, I can't stop coming back to this video, I need help. That Simple and Clean just wrecks my mind every time I hear it. I need more of it in my life.
Truly amazing. The quality of these songs are proof you've improved. Simple and Clean is more of an aural immersion than its original cover!
Simple and Clean. One of my favorite songs. From pretty much every kingdom hearts ever. You earned a subscriber for that.
Dude, whenever I feel life gets on top of me, I throw on your medley and things make sense again. I've never met you but I love you man :D

Love the solo section during the KH song how u incorporated the other songs from the medley into the solo. Very classy!
Two years later and the rainbow road cover still gives me goosebumps.

This is by far the best gaming medley I've ever heard, and your best song yet. 100th video special indeed. This is definitely going on my iPod :D
