Good video. I just short pin 8, works the same. Did I hear correctly that you've performed three oil changes in one year? What kind of mileage are you doing to warrant this (out of curiosity) Jim.
I do a very low mileage hence the regular oil changes. I do it every 6 months on all 4 of my cars as a result. Opie Oils sell top brand Oils and filters at a good price.
@@split_pin Yes, that's a sensible timeline to work with. I do oil testing as part of my work sometimes and it's interesting stuff. I've had products from Opie before now, always great service. I've just recently bought a Rover 75 Diesel and I much prefer it to the petrol V6's because I'm now officially an old fart!
@@kevjards The tool stopped working quite soon after I made this video. I think you can short out certain pins on the OBD socket which does the same thing but youd need to Google that to check for sure.
Nice one mate am sure this will help somone. Handy enough tool for the job.👍
I just put a length of wire in number 8 port, touch other end to earth, does the same job.
Very useful, thank you. I ignore the service countdown on the display. I do fewer than the mileage shown and change the oil when the MoT is due. M
You're welcome 😁

@@iamthefatstig I'm 42 this year, I think I've been an old fart since about 21 😂
@@split_pin 48 and 3/4 (it all counts) The bones say 68, mind says 8!
@@iamthefatstig I hear ya!
Very useful I was wondering how to do mine where did you get the service tool from please
Thanks Adam, I got it from Ebay, it was about £15.
