UPDATE: I managed to refit the door button. The small green plastic peg (picture in the video) needs to be rotated until the slot in the side of it can accept the vertical part of the rod. Link on how to stop Rover 75/MG ZT door locks freezing in winter: czcams.com/video/0Ud1T7qTmEw/video.html

hello Sir how did you remove the sill ?many thanks, regards
Much appreciated great vid especially the vactan tip😊
Great video, 🙏
Nice to hear House Sparrows in the background, you hardly see,or hear them in England now.Regarding the motorcar, looks like you have a "sound" example, hope it runs as good as it looks.I bought a wedgewood blue CDT Connesuier 2ltr diesel,(2001),drives well, but there are some corrosion issues to sort out.Good Luck.
It's great that someone else has commented on the sparrows in the background - the last time I re-watched this video was in the middle of winter and it struck me how many birds you can hear in the spring 😊 The car has been a field somewhere in North Scotland for many years now - this was 2018 before I sold it to a pal as a stop-gap car. I still have a 75 though 😀
Did it stay leak free without any extra sealant applied?
I sold this very shortly after the video so I never got to find out.
Hi Bud, are the rear window sill`s both the same on the left and the right? I have found two new ones but they say right rear door. can you help . all the best J
Hi no they are handed, so you will need to find another one for the left door.
Thanks .
Well waste of 2 minutes
Sod off and make your own videos you potless cretin.
Can someone give a suggestion to swap the inside handle wity new ones without broke the oval chrone surrounding again?
Mine has a 376 im confused and looks nothing like yours
There is another plenum drain on the driver's side up near the bonnet hinge to match the one on the passenger side.
Can’t hear you due to the road and wind noise.
This video is nearly 6 years old, the car is bean tins now and likely the camera too, so not to worry.
Sorry for the loss of your father nice car I think it is one of the most beautiful audi models ever!
What a beauty!
I am sorry for the loss of your father.
Thats a LOT of car for £1900 😮
Just had mine done, it was black exactly the same as on the video, 185000 miles!!
Mirrors might be just the switch
Now got this in my fleet! Safe to say it’s not looking as good as what it did in this video! 😆
Probably worth amending your video title to Plenum *Drain* . Can't believe you didn't a) unclip the ECU (5 seconds) & lift it out the way so you could clean any soppy crud underneath it, and b) "didnae bother" with the other side. Honestly mate, K-BDG might be a better channel name.
Fuck off and make your own video then.
Lovely cavalier mate and with the izuzu engine even better I have a mark 3 astra f 1.7td with the same engine completely original and lovely to see a older diesel on the road
It's had a fair few more owners since this video but it's still going strong and has been further improved 👍
My 2006 1.8 petrol Civic has done 150,000 miles and doesn’t have any issues with the car, although rear axel is now corroded, E10 petrol has knocked out fuel injectors so I only use premium E5 petrol, only wear and tear item was new clutch at 117k Miles These Civic’s are a great car only if they’re looked after
That looks good for an old car.
That plenum guard is made by Jules the Rover 75 Guru of Colwyn Bay
Yes it has his name on it :)
@@split_pin He's a great guy - saved me a fortune on my delicious 05 Rover 75 Contemporary Diesel
Thanks for the video, looks like I'll be doing this sometime soon 🤦
I'm glad you found it useful 😊
👍
this car is now parked outside my house lol
Very interesting good information there buddy I dont know i missed this video. 👍
Ah, so it’s normal for water to get down there? Somewhat relieving for me as that tends to suggest the bulkhead can cope with some water. It’s happened twice in the autumn. Presumably it did drain slowly. Will unblock it now.
Lovely
Split_Pin, congratulations on your purchase of a Mercedes SLK R170! Many viewers might be curious about what it's like to own a budget-friendly luxury car like this. Sharing your experience and insights, including the pros and cons, can be helpful to others who might consider a similar purchase. Keep the updates coming, and enjoy your new ride! 🚗🌟 #MercedesSLK #CarOwnership #BudgetLuxury
I like it looks a decent motor. I have never owned a Mercedes yet maybe one day. 👍
I was the same, I had never owned one so thought why not.
Great cars and starting to be appreciated now
Is it really important to disconnect the battery?
Yes absolutely.
There is no need to do anything with the door handle, when the door card is free of the metal center clip, all that is needed is to slide the handle towards the back of the car and pull it away and out towards the front of the car, then push it through the hole. To re fit, push it back through the hole, slide it in sideways towards the back of the car, then slide it towards the front of the car a little.
Thanks, yeah I know that now 😂 I was able to go to a scrapyard and get a good handle from a breaker using the suggested method. Much better!
Thank you, mate! I did exactly as you, and it worked perfectly. On my Audi, the number on the relay was 343, but the problem was the same.
Cheers, I'm glad it was of use to you and hopefully saved you some money.
@@split_pin I saved rather many hours of searching for the problem because nobody wants to deal with such issues. On top of that, there are fewer and fewer people who keep these old cars alive.
@@cristians3363 Great to hear. I would not even bother with a garage for this kind of problem as they wouldn't have a clue. In my case, a new relay would have cost me £115.
Really enjoyed that! Brought back memories of the sorts of toys I loved back in the 80s
Thanks! It was a nice trip down memory lane for me too!
Hello, Thanks for the tutorial. Have any idea on what would be the best way to get it smoother? I am thinking of putting some kind of compound
You could try some high build primer and then sand it back before applying the top coats. I think if you used filler on this you would just have an island on the paint no matter how hard you tried to get it smooth.
Tremendous, Love from Ireland as always ❤️
Thank you ☺️
Shame you didn't actually have a fix as I have the same problem.
You can get the chrome trim round the lock to stay on by drilling small holes through the inside part of the chrome trim into the moulding that holds the lever and screwing in small self tapping screws. The grey moulding into which it fits has a double skin so as long as you only drill through the first skin the repair cannot be seen once it is fitted. Much stronger than the original flimsy tags. I should have taken photos when I did it last week! My sympathies regarding the push button rod. I have spent frustrated ages getting this to fit - and have succeeded in the end! I will try your method next time - there is sure to be a next time!
How do you now if it has a bam engine? I'm hopefully going to see a 225 on Friday.
3 ways to tell. 225s should have twin exhausts although some 180s have been converted. The second way is to check the V5 as the engine code will be there. The 3rd way which you can do now is to run the reg through the 'value my car' section of carbaba.co.uk and the BAM engine code will show in the information it gives you. Good luck with your viewing buddy 👍
@@split_pin It’s also stamped on the top of the engine.
An awesome old vintage diecast collection i prefer just only the old ones
Just to inform anybody following this, there is no need to remove the chrome trim around the door pull, simply remove the screw and unhook the door release cable from behind thus releasing the whole door pull with the chrome surround still attached 👍😁👍
That is indeed another way but I did mention in the video that it can be very tricky to get the hook onthe door release cable back in again 👍
V8?
@rovercoupe7104 Afraid not man😅
Remove? Broken If its separated its cause he broken it Its a single piece Not a trim The oval chrome and ddor handle single piece Great advice to not broken it Thanks man
So it's spacers everywhere? What was exactly the thickness?
Hey, you don't know any part number for the part?
Sorry no mate, I don't think they are available new.
Where did you get yours from?
@@Funsave2012 They came with the car when I bought it buddy.
Good to see another video from yourself. Thanks Pòl and RustyCdti
Thanks! 😊

For the complete change it is necessary to drain the plug on the block side of the exhaust
Did mine last year Nice video !
