Amazing. Coming back to BG3, I'll definitely try this one. A quick question. How do I consistently trigger Diadem of Arcane Synergy if I don't want to use Illithid powers?
Holy shit, how is that even possible? I am actually playing right now using sin tee sorloc build for main and 2 other and needed something for Astarion and boom, I turn on youtube and see this video....
This looks so fun! I looked into bow builds but everyone just recommends gloomstalker but I feel like it would get annoying to set up the surprise rounds all the time and without them half the class doesn't work. Will do this fighter cleric hybrid instead!
love your vids and of course, your builds!! will this build work for a first dark urge solo honour run? also, can’t wait for your in-depth monk & ranged champion build!!
▫Yes, playing as Dark Urge for Deathstalker cloak would be the safest origin for solo play as it guarantees you an easy way to disengage combat if necessary whenever you miscalculated something or rng went bad. Other than that, make sure you collect and have all the Sleight of Hand equipment on first when you want to steal Special Arrows (esp Graceful Cloth for Advantage). You cast Guidance for another 1d4 on checks as well, either from Cleric multiclass or from Silver Pendant (if no Cleric multiclass at the time). ▫No gear changes are needed. However for odd cases, you could consider grabbing Bonespike Gloves so your attacks could ignore some enemies with magic Piercing resistance. _(The gloves were used against Hellfire Steel Watcher Titan, because that battlefield was too expansive, running to each enemy faces to impose Vulnerlabity from Bhaalist armour wouldn't be ideal)_ ▫As for character tweaks: use Hag Hair for Dexterity, so you could achieve the same 22 Dex without using a feat. That last feat can now be instead used for Alert or Crossbow Expert: ┖ Alert: +5 Initiative so nobody can go before you in Act 3. ┖ Crossbow Expert: your attacks now have no Disadvantage when shot in close range, which allows you to have Advantage instead. Otherwise, normally the Advantage from Gloves of Automaton and the Disadvantage from enemy within melee range cancelled each other out. _There is a sweet spot where enemies will get affected by Aura of Murder while you still stay out of enemy melee range for Advantage as seen in my solo Raphael video, but it can be rather tedious to do. Crossbow Expert eliminates that problem._
For stacking arrows, sell vendors a bag, fill it with stuff you want, party-swap (click another portrait on the left) and then open the bag and hit "Loot All". Removes the potential chance of a double nat1 on theft
@@duck_t4039was just re-watching the vid, taking notes for my playthrough and saw this!! you made my nite!! thanks for the tip! just to be clear, i sell the vendor an empty bag first and fill it with stuff from their inventory? then open it and loot all?
@@torretermunde5345 once the bag is full, without closing the trade window, switch character on the left (via the character portraits). Then double click on the bag again and it should have "Loot All" as an option
Thank you for the trademark Legolas build. Would dual wielding handcrossbows for BA attack be any different compared to the war domain dip for a dip in a different subclass or class? If so how much of a difference would it make?
I just found your build and it looks amazing :) how would your abillity spread look like if you wanted it to be the face of the party? Still a negative 1 to charisma? Just a quick edit: love that you include items, and alternative items so its easyer to find alternative since most builds use the same items across the board. And when to find Them in each Act! Your Got damn brilliant!
Wisdom has surprisingly a handful of options regarding dialogues. If you still prefer your character to have a decent chance at Persuasion, then you can dump the 12 sub mental stat (INT or WIS depend on build progression) for 12 CHA instead. _(see Diadem of Arcane Synergy at __16:46__ for better context)_ Having a Bard with Enhance Ability (Advantage on checks) & Bardic Inspiration for +1d6/1d8/1d10 ability checks, and a Cleric (it could be this build) for +1d4 ability check could easily turn a combat-focused character into an effective face character too. Other than those options, you'd have to expect and deal with the consequences of failing dialogue checks accordingly or run the build on a companion instead.
Would this Build be viable for a solo Honor Run? Still searching for a Build to get my first run done. =) So far your Videos are amazing and inspiring!
▫Sure, the only problem I'd see is from stealing special arrows early on. Make sure you collect and have all the Sleight of Hand equipment on first before stealing (esp Graceful Cloth for Advantage). Then cast Guidance on self, either from Cleric multiclass or from Silver Pendant (if no Cleric multiclass at the time). @@sintee106You are an absolute blessing! Thank you so much. =) Would you say there are Builds that are "easier" for 1st Honor Run? Or did i choose just the right Build?
@@GrandLapikaYes, it's fair to say Sharpshooter build is the easiest for solo play in just about any difficulty, so you're right. Monk or Paladin builds may come close due to easier accessibility, but if you already know what to expect ahead, then it's much easier to brute-force fights as a Sharpshooter. They have minimal weaknesses and have answers to everything thanks to Special Arrows. ---------------------------- - Dexterity as the main stat, it covers all fronts (damage, accuracy, AC, and initiative) - Best armors in-game, Medium Armors that add full Dexterity so you are not at all easy to kill. Then with Vulnerability from Bhaalist Armour in act 3, enemies around you just become paper thin. - Special arrows are powerful and readily available through stealing. - Ranged build means you are often out of the danger zone, allowing you to pick off enemies from a distance and kite them effectively. Enemies are either dead from the get-go or die trying to reach you. It's also easier to disengage if things go wrong. - Low resource playstyle, relying mainly on normal attacks for damage, then enhanced further by either Special Arrows or innate class abilities. Class resources and abilities are easily rechargeable on Short Rest so you are pretty much at your strongest at all times.
Amazing guide! One question: how do you get 10 attacks turn one and then 6 attacks after that? I am counting 1 action attack, 2 extra attacks from 11fighter, 1 extra attack from cleric BA, and then another3 from action surge. That 7 and 4. If you are hasted its 8 and 5 (still insane). In tactician and below you get 2 more attacks from haste so it would be 10 and 7, but honour mode would be 8 on turn one and then 5 per turn until your cleric charges run out.
- Being able to pass dialogue checks is not necessarily needed, the game is made to be experienced with any class, you'd simply expect to deal with the outcomes accordingly. - You could opt to run the build on companions as suggested in the video if you prefer otherwise. There are no significant advantages between a PC or companion running the build, unless it's Astarion. _(regarding Bless statue, it can be constructed to yourself or a companion and the effect goes to whoever is depicted)_
Depends on which footage, the bonuses vary due to gear and buffs used at that time, but I assume you are referring to the footage featuring Special Arrows: +1d8+10 // 1d8 (wp dmg) // 10 (Sharpshooter) +1d4+14 // 1d4 (Enlarge, Elixir of Colossus) // 3 (Gontr Mael weapon enhancement) // 1 (Elemental weapon enhancement from Drakethroat Glaive) // 6 (from 22 Dexterity) // 3~4 (Diadem Arcane Synergy) -> it's because player character has 16 WIS (+3) while Astarion has 18 WIS (+4)
Man I wanted to avoid playing a Fighter on my first playthrough because I was like "Pfft. A plain old Fighter? How gauche. How boring. How lame. I'll be a badass open-hand tavern brawler monk instead." I romanced Lae'zel so I made her the pure Fighter. Thought we made a good power couple. Then the scene where she fights me happened. She fucking destroyed me in the 1st turn like un-fucking-made me. I learned then that plain old Fighter was the most OP class in the game. Action surge x 3 attacks per turn every Short Rest, and that's if you don't know how to play the class any more than that, and 3 perks on top of that, plus Heavy Armour. Goddamn did my girl teach me a lesson.
Now im sad i gave the awakened passive to gale 😂. You said that core build works without illithid powers but would you still take the ones showed even without the passive??
yes, not having Awakened passive doesn't affect most illithid power usage for the ones used in this build, except for Psionic Overload. Using it as an Action while Hastened (Potion of Speed) or Bloodlusted (Elixir of Bloodlust) only results in the loss of one attack in the same turn, so it's an acceptable inconvenience, assuming you think the fight could last for a while. However, if you're running this build on Tactician, that minor inconvenience will instead become a big inconvenience due to different extra attack ruleset from Honour mode. You would lose 2~3 attacks if you used Pisonic Overload as an Action, doesn't matter where that Action comes from. At the end of the day, most Illithid powers are just 'accessory abilities' that enhance the build. Losing one damage buff won't cripple your character. That's what I meant about the core build not necessarily relying on Illithid powers - _for those who prefer not to use them, perhaps for the challenge or roleplay_
Keep in mind this number of attacks is exclusive to Honour ruleset, as in Extra Attack feature is limited only to character default action and Action Surge. - 1st action by default: 3 attacks (Improved Extra Attack feature) - 2nd action from Action Surge: 3 attacks (Improved Extra Attack feature) - 3rd action from Haste: 1 attack - 4th action from Bloodlust: 1 attack - bonus action attack from War Cleric: 1 attack - additional attack from Martial Exertion Gloves: 1 attack On subsequent turns, you'd only have 3 actions and 1 bonus action available as other abilities are on cooldown: - 1st action by default: 3 attacks - 2nd action from Haste: 1 attack - 3rd action from Bloodlust: 1 attack - bonus action attack from War Cleric: 1 attack
I’m assuming you’re talking about around 9:51. He’s positioned an ally nearby + his enemy does not have an ally anymore. They’re all dead and the final enemy now has the threatened status and he does not. It’s why he shot him last. I’m pretty sure it’s probably why they put the risky ring in the game . For rogue to get sneak attack, they need an ally nearby but that kind of defeats the purpose of rogue or solo play for that matter. It’s likely why he comes out surprising the enemy a lot for advantage (plus them skipping a turn is nice).
@@zeroonezero6270 sorry, i did not put any time stamp. I was pertaining to 0:51 to 1:09. On the time stamp you mentioned you can see that there's disadvantage on his attacks but at 0:51 to 1:09. There's no disadvantage. Do surprised enemies do not give threatened debuff?
@@GeraldArsC surprise is an entirely different debuff than threatened. Surprise is is basically “Hold” without the free crits. They can’t take actions, can’t move, and lose a turn. Threatened, you can move and take actions but are more vulnerable to range attacks. Does that make sense? Sin tee never uses skills, gear or takes position unless it favors him 100% outside of GWF and sharpshooter but those grant extra attack which is gold to him.
@@codybruce2134 Have you looked around, in this very same comment section? Why would I hide the usage of AI voice? Your question simply asked whether English is my second language.
_(The gloves were used against Hellfire Steel Watcher Titan, because that battlefield was too expansive, running to each enemy faces to impose Vulnerlabity from Bhaalist armour wouldn't be ideal)_
▫As for character tweaks: use Hag Hair for Dexterity, so you could achieve the same 22 Dex without using a feat. That last feat can now be instead used for Alert or Crossbow Expert:
┖ Alert: +5 Initiative so nobody can go before you in Act 3.
Crossbow Expert eliminates that problem._
you’re awesome!! thanks bunches for your reply & all the info!! ❤️
The GOAT is back

_(see Diadem of Arcane Synergy at __16:46__ for better context)_
Having a Bard with Enhance Ability (Advantage on checks) & Bardic Inspiration for +1d6/1d8/1d10 ability checks, and a Cleric (it could be this build) for +1d4 ability check could easily turn a combat-focused character into an effective face character too.
Other than those options, you'd have to expect and deal with the consequences of failing dialogue checks accordingly or run the build on a companion instead.
Hoping for a bard build, do you have plans for one?
Sin tee!!! I missed ya!
Up to is the King's Knife, I'm using the Lovintar Blade, which gives a blessing for one turn
Would this Build be viable for a solo Honor Run?
Still searching for a Build to get my first run done. =)
So far your Videos are amazing and inspiring!
▫No gear changes are needed. However for odd cases, you could consider grabbing Bonespike Gloves so your attacks could ignore some enemies with magic Piercing resistance.

@@sintee106You are an absolute blessing! Thank you so much. =)
Would you say there are Builds that are "easier" for 1st Honor Run?
Or did i choose just the right Build?
@@GrandLapikaYes, it's fair to say Sharpshooter build is the easiest for solo play in just about any difficulty, so you're right. Monk or Paladin builds may come close due to easier accessibility, but if you already know what to expect ahead, then it's much easier to brute-force fights as a Sharpshooter. They have minimal weaknesses and have answers to everything thanks to Special Arrows.
----------------------------
- Dexterity as the main stat, it covers all fronts (damage, accuracy, AC, and initiative)
- Best armors in-game, Medium Armors that add full Dexterity so you are not at all easy to kill.
Does Hex works with all the damage stacks? Wouldn't it proc for every single one?
With scrolls and special arrows, I really feel like Fighter is probably thee best class in the game.
you ever seen path of achra? probably the best build making game ever, very fun
@sintee106 can you tell me how I could make this work also as the face of my party for dialogue too?
I really don't think there is any upgrade to the titanstring bow
It would be lovely to have it all in text version also. It's frustrating to have to return to video every so often.
now just need to mod some guns in and turn orin into joker.
May I ask if this build would work on solo balanced or tactician? Or which of your builds be the best suited for this?
Awesome video, when are you doing Cyberpunk builds again?
maybe my english is failing me but you mean: a miss into a hit? ( at 6:30 )
edit: oops i forgot, nice video :p , i like the ai-voice :)
ah my bad, you're correct, it should have been the other way around as you pointed out.
Why the stats chosen here? Specifically wondering about the extra intellect
What is your recommendation for background when not playing with The Dark Urge?
For crit spec, would you also swap to deadshot, or is contr mael still better?
You could also replace the gontr mael with the deadshot for the crit build. Then youd have a crit on a 15
Oh didn't know eating raspberries is a free action heal.
I found your other comment explaining it, thank you!
How would you bypass low charisma?
Can you make a party build video so it’s easier to see which gear goes where?
Great build! But i'm a little worried about no social skill bonuses... Is that OK as Tav?
- Being able to pass dialogue checks is not necessarily needed, the game is made to be experienced with any class, you'd simply expect to deal with the outcomes accordingly.
- You could opt to run the build on companions as suggested in the video if you prefer otherwise. There are no significant advantages between a PC or companion running the build, unless it's Astarion.
_(regarding Bless statue, it can be constructed to yourself or a companion and the effect goes to whoever is depicted)_
wisdom is an underrated social skill... insight can do a lot, found that out when i did a druid playthough.. youll be coo!
da god of d&d
Where are you getting the additional 1d4 + 14 piercing damage under your base 1d8 + 10 piercing from?
Depends on which footage, the bonuses vary due to gear and buffs used at that time, but I assume you are referring to the footage featuring Special Arrows:
+1d8+10
// 1d8 (wp dmg)
// 10 (Sharpshooter)
+1d4+14
// 1d4 (Enlarge, Elixir of Colossus)
// 3 (Gontr Mael weapon enhancement)
// 1 (Elemental weapon enhancement from Drakethroat Glaive)
// 6 (from 22 Dexterity)
// 3~4 (Diadem Arcane Synergy) -> it's because player character has 16 WIS (+3) while Astarion has 18 WIS (+4)
Man I wanted to avoid playing a Fighter on my first playthrough because I was like "Pfft. A plain old Fighter? How gauche. How boring. How lame. I'll be a badass open-hand tavern brawler monk instead."
I romanced Lae'zel so I made her the pure Fighter.
Is this build better than Gloomstalker Assassin?
Which version os stronger - flat damage or crit-based?
Tried this build and got a crit like you did on Orin against a Steel Watcher and BG3 force closed.......im stilll laughing about it. It's been 2 hrs.
I'm trying that build rn in my honor mode run, let's see how it goes.
What if u take the level in rouge for sneack attack?
6:30 Opposite, you turn a miss into a hit. At least I hope otherwise war clerics suck xD
This is a good build but I wouldn't call it a Fighter/Cleric build
Can someone explain how it’s 10 attacks the first round and 6 on the other rounds :(
Keep in mind this number of attacks is exclusive to Honour ruleset, as in Extra Attack feature is limited only to character default action and Action Surge.
- 1st action by default: 3 attacks (Improved Extra Attack feature)
- 2nd action from Action Surge: 3 attacks (Improved Extra Attack feature)
- 3rd action from Haste: 1 attack
- 4th action from Bloodlust: 1 attack
- bonus action attack from War Cleric: 1 attack
- additional attack from Martial Exertion Gloves: 1 attack
On subsequent turns, you'd only have 3 actions and 1 bonus action available as other abilities are on cooldown:
- 1st action by default: 3 attacks
- 2nd action from Haste: 1 attack
- 3rd action from Bloodlust: 1 attack
- bonus action attack from War Cleric: 1 attack
How'd you not get disadvantage at melee range?
