This will work with 2020 Ram 1500?
Uconnect 5 seems to be much worse than uconnect 4, or is to me. Not impressed. Can't do a fullscreen 12" android auto for google, but Apple can- I understand but can't check it. 2023 has the wireless android auto for half screen, and road names are about unreadable at night- difficult on days too.

Hey Tyler, great info!!! Years ago before I retired I drove a lot & I ate sunflower seeds to help me stay awake. I'm amazed with all the technology available today
My car has adaptive cruise & lane assist, it practically drives itself, I drive only about 4,000 Miles anymore but it's a fun adventure!! Thanks for sharing another cool video!!! 👍👍😎

I wanted to say thanks for referring this company! I got the OneCarStereo Octa Core bigger unit and it works flawless in the TRX with zero issues, no buffering, fast switching! It will not allow you to run the Uconnect Navi in the lower card on the radio but it will allow it to be used just full screen or in the background letting the voice or instrument cluster guide you, I also found you cant play music via Bluetooth only Android Auto when box is connected but all this is no big deal as I leave mine always plugged in, if you want to use say BT for music or Navi on lower card then unplug the box during, no having to re connect wifi or sign in needed after the first time.
Only little thing when all is running is sometimes Uconnect will disconnect from BT to your phone stopping hands free calling but this is not often...
I was pretty surprised with how well it worked also!
I just plugged in my iPad and it fits perfectly through the speakers and sets perfectly on the volume and tuner knob works great!

OMG I was just talking about wanting this cause ive been using my phone through the Uconnect4 BT so this is a game changer.... I ordered the Octa-core bigger one for $330 so excited to get this. Its for my 2021 TRX so this video was great!

I ordered a 2024 Ram 2500 that will have the 12" display in it. I ran across your video while searching for info on the the system and how to get around the blacklisting of certain apps. I think its cool that you can watch YT and Netflix but to be honest, that doesn't interest me, currently. 😁
Currently I would like to find out if I can display something like weather radar from my wX app on my phone on the dash display. I know only certain apps are allowed to be "mirrored" or Controlled on the display.

Great review. Thank you. One thing I have yet to discover anywhere is how to change the time/day on the device's home screen. I would have thought that by configuring one's location the time would have been established correctly. However, although my city is correctly displayed, the time is completely off and interestingly enough, always the same until I get on the road when it may change but never to what it should be. Any ideas?
Oh that is really weird I guess I have never noticed it on mine as I normally have it playing something if it is on. I will have to watch next time I'm using it. Thanks for the view!

If you hit the HOME button on the top left it will have the split screen on the 2021's
Tyler I got the Octa Cora version and it works flawless except 2 issues that I wonder if you have found with the Lite Version... When plugged in you can't choses Navigation on the Lower Card and also if somone calls while using this the phone won't ring through like when it's connected with Uconnect....
To use Android Auto you have to add your phone Bluetooth to the unit and then choose the I think Green robot pic for Android Auto just a FYI...

i did the same with with Fermata auto app. no box required only works with android tho

@@ccm200121 It requires wired connection. The whole point for this box is for wireless connection.
7 months ago - any update for later model trucks? Just picked up my 23 and I am wanting to do this. Magic box says Netflix works but with take up the whole screen essentially cutting off most of the video which isnt going to work for me. I asked why it wouldn't utilize the split screen mode but didn't get an answer.
I have had multiple people say it wont work on the 22's and up with the new Uconnect5. I asked the company and they said they currently don't have anything for the Uconnect 5 system.

On another topic. In my 2021 TRX when backing the truck up to connect to a trailer if i get close go to park then back to Reverse it causes the R to flash and says the Brake is applied to go back to Park then Reverse but it does it each time unless I go forward then back up again then all works unless I put in park and back to Reverse. I do have the Auto Parking Brake off as well as the Front and Back sensors off....Do you know why this is happening?
The drivers door is closed during this process correct?
@@TylerPotter Now that you ask I'm not 100% sure but possibly open cause of getting out to check hitch ball line up...What's your thought open/closed?
If the drivers door is open it will "auto park" every time as a safety feature. Kind of weird but it's how they are programmed.
@@TylerPotter That was the issue I had door open while going from Park to Rev and that cause the truck to Auto Park/Brake.....Thanks bro!

This product only works for vehicles with Wired CarPlay (not compatible with vehicles that only has wireless CarPlay）😔

This piece of junk is not working on my 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel with a 12-inch display, and I been having Android Auto for sometime when I plug it in it says do you wish to connect to iPhone Auto does your say the same. This thing was supposed to be Plug and Play could you make a video of how you installed yours since we both have Rams I would appreciate that thank you
