    Nobody mentioned in the video that the steam deck oled has a 90hz display and the lenovo legion go has a 144hz display. I thought you guys as a tech channel would have mentioned these, they are pretty important. People just don't know how to use Windows 11, I use it every single day and I don't have any issues on my desktop PC and on my Asus ROG Ally.

      Truthfully what does that matter? Could you please tell me what games you are playing at 144hz? I’d like to play those. Also if you’re running 144hz your bettery is gonna be a cool 4 mins. Most triple A games top out at 90hz

      Honestly I haven't hit 144 but I've gone over 90 in a game or 2. But my emulated games definitely hit 144.
      It definitely matters tho.

      I wouldn't say that. SteamOS is very simple to use but it all runs on Linux which some might find harder to use than Windows. But these days there's a guide for everything so it shouldn't be that scary anyway.

    • @xellaz
      @xellaz Před 9 měsíci +13

      @Spacemonkeymojo I might be a little biased since my main OS is Linux but honestly Linux has come a long way and is much easier to use now. I even switched my mom's PC to Linux and she's doing fine with it since she just mostly use an Internet browser which functions pretty much the same across all major Operating Systems such as Windows or MacOS.
      I also want to mention that Linux is much more secure, no telemetry spying, and no forced updates or reboots. In fact, if you check the connections the Steam Deck makes behind the scenes, they are much less compared to Windows and are all just standard ones such as checking for updates or ping to a time server. Now check your fresh Windows 10/11 install. You'll see a bunch of unnecessary ones that spies on you. 😬

    I have both and my experience is completely different. It’s NOT true on Steamdeck you have a smooth experience. Often also games checked as tested or optimized will not run properly, you will need to change graphics settings or install alternative “proton” (a sort of WINE) even if great part of non tested games will run great… It’s true it IS more console like, and very pleasant to use. On Legion Go I have some popups but according to what you have installed and you can disable them almost always. No issue at all until now, bugs will be solved with updates as happened for Steamdeck at launch. More, Legion go is much more powerful, Steamdeck allow you to play smoothly AAA games until 2021. Last thing, for a lot of you the screen size can make the difference, my eyes thanks me where I need to read in games (I like card games and this happen frequently). So they have both pros and cons that make them equivalent. You have just to choose according to your playing style. I’d like a Steamdeck whit 8.8 inches to be honest 😂.

      @blm7929 Před 8 měsíci +4

      I owned a Steam Deck that I sold yesterday to... buy a Steam Deck OLED. All the games that I tested so far worked well and were largely playable on the Steam Deck and never played with Proton settings. Maybe AAA titles from 22/23 will run slowly, not tested, but when I see that RDR2 and Cyberpunk are running well, I think that if you put in low more recent games it can be playable.
      Yes, it is still a PC so you have to play with games settings but you can play games as you wish.

    • @AtrusDesign
      @AtrusDesign Před 8 měsíci

      @@blm7929i bought a Steamdeck OLED too, it will arrive soon, then I’ll decide what I’ll keep. I realized how well work game streaming from my desktop to Steamdeck and Lenovo. So for recent AAA I can just play remotely at full detail since my main use of handheld is at home in my bed. So Steam OS and new OLED screen could win VS Legion go in my case… I also realized several digital card games (that I love) adjust cards size according to the screen, so NO difference between Legion go and Steamdeck about cards/text size, there is just more or less space to place them on the screen, this does means bigger screen is a relative advantage (no one say this…), more, text are more readable on Steamdeck LCD I am using now, so I assume it will be better on OLED screen. It will be hard to decide.

    I own a Legion go, and I can tell you is frustrating. I was excited about the fps mode and believe me when I tell you it's a mess. It doesn't translate well with the games and each game has a different controller set up very different from each other. Halo has a different set up than Crisis and COD etc. Other than that, is an impressive system except for the Windows 11 headaches.

      Naaah not to bad . Legion go is basically the same as jumping into pc gaming . If you never owned a pc gaming rig as of late yes this will be a crash course and somewhat of a steep learning curve but once you get past that you will realize how lunch better the legion go is . I coming from the deck btw . And when u have the deck long enough you will realize it has it own set of issues. Although an oled screen is nice it doesn't fix the issues . Those of you on the fence just go with the Legion go . These are my honest first impressions for most. If you buy the deck . You will get instant gratification but you will get annoyed/ frustrated at the performance cap and other issues that u WILL notice in the future . Now Legion go you will be impressed with the power of this device but will shortly lived due to the tinkering involved bc it is a windows gaming pc after all. But in the LONG RUN you will be glad/ waaaaay more satisfied you choose the legion go. So it's really instant gratification vs long term
      Gratification. You choose guys and ladies

    - The fact that with Steam Deck you can play less games compared to the Lenovo: there are many more games for windows compared to linux
    - The screen resolution

      Lenovo Go is not just a gaming device, it is a computer, a powerful one, the Z1 Extreme is just as good as a Ryzen 7 5700X (and that is actually very surprising), it could be use as a computer that outperforms many laptops, and the GPU is just as good as an RTX 1650

      Games don't have to be Linux compatible ! It is all the interest of this machine, it runs Windows games ! I have no Linux game in my library, all Windows, and no problem with the Steam Deck (thanks to Proton).
      Yes, some games will not run because of their anti-cheat that is really made for Windows (and works like spywares) and some others because they need something not available, but the thing is that you don't have to restrict to linux games.

    Biggest tip :
    If you know pcs - legion and rog
    If you know very little - steamdeck
    If you nkow nothing about pc and windows - switch.
    We have to be very clear that the closer you get to windows the learning curve gets higher.. more issues arise.. it’s not a console.. hopefully soon it can be that easy.. but its not.. this is the reality. Even steam deck.. when things aren’t compatible that is still a learning curve.. this is the reason why consoles and switch do so well.
    So i hope that helps.. thats the basis for purchasing- how much knowledge you have and are you willing to be frustrated and learn?

The only difgerence is it doesn have a mouse and keyboard, so buying an additional $80 USB-C dock, I connected my PC's Mouse, Keyboard and Monitor, and what do you know? I have a full gaming PC for half the price. Legion Go is the best Windows 11 handheld gaming/PC right now.

    If you looking for performance it isn't even close, the Lenovo legion is your choice. If you looking for something that is more stablish and optimize but ok or average with power and with performances then the Steam Deck is your choice.
    Another thing to keep in mind, the Lenovo legion just came out so is really not a fair comparison to say that the other one is better optimize since the Steam Deck has been out for 2 or close to two years now and the other one just came out and it will require a lot of optimization in the weeks and months ahead to work good with games.
    I would say before you go out shopping for one of the two and you not in a hurry, just wait a few more months, maybe 3 or 4 more months and by then the legion would be better optimize, and it will be a good choice for you.

I LOVE the idea of a Windows handheld device personally. It makes it easy to just get whatever game you want on there, however you want to get it on there. It allows instant access to all emulators. You can attach it effortlessly to any display monitor and you have a full PC setup that takes up virtually zero space compared to a full gaming PC rig. The controller turning into a mouse is a true work of innovation that I think is being downplayed right now. Genius!

    So far my experience with the Legion Go has been mostly good so far. It’s great not being chained down to steam. I’m also able to play GamePass games natively along with other launchers. And being able to play AAA games at higher resolutions and still maintaining playable frame rates is nice. (It’s my Baldur’s Gate 3 machine.) However, part of me still wonders if I would be happier with the Steam Deck. Most of my gaming library is in Steam. Plus the Legion go not having a sleep button to suspend my games like the Steam Deck and Nintendo switch does suck. As a father of a newborn, I only have time to game in spurts. So If I can’t save I’ll constantly have to lay the Legion go down and leave it running, plugged in until I can get back to it. I just wondered if the hit in performance is worth it.
