    Thx for the nice videos. A small observation: a game is lost by the phasing player if defcon reaches nuclear war, not necessarily the player who dropped the defcon level. Cheers!

    Great work as always. Thank you for the clear and concise explanations, plus clear and illustrative visuals. Know it takes a lot of effort to put these together - very much appreciate the care and consideration.

    Excellent explanation. Your content is always of such high content. Just one small correction though: on the space race you stated that all players can earn the special abilities. Actually, it's only the first player to reach that step, and that effect is automatically cancelled as soon as the other player reaches that same step.

    Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you, have owned the game for months knowing I’d love it but too intimated to understand how to play, you absolutely fixed this dilemma with your tutorial!

    Brilliant, Ben. As a beginner this gives me a lot of confidence with the game. Slowing the speed helped a lot too.

    Thank you for this series, very clear. As far as I can tell there is one error with your description of losing because of reaching Defcon 1. The rules say it is the phasing player who loses when it happens, not necessarily the player who triggered it, and the example given is of a non-phasing player triggering it to win during the phasing player's turn (8.1.3)

    Thanks for all 3 lessons. I just play the app version where everything is handled automatically. Your vids gave me the required understanding in attempting to understand and win the game after just randomly trying to play without strategy... Lol

    This series made me subscribe. Excellent work! That should be helpful for many new players for several years to come. It is the best Twilight Struggle tutorial I have watched. I have a question regarding the previous episode, for domination and control of a region, do you count all the countries total (battle ground and non-battle ground) and all the battle ground total? Or do you count the Non-battle ground countries total and the battle ground countries total?

    • @harsh-rules
      @harsh-rules  Před 5 lety +2

      For Domination you're comparing two totals with your opponent and must beat them at both. 1st each sides total of Non-Battleground countries. 2nd each sides total of battleground countries. If one player has more of each category in a region they've achieved Domination.

    • @Basilisk4119
      @Basilisk4119 Před 5 lety +3

      After checking the rules....
      More battleground countries and more total countries (including battlegrounds again)

    Harsh, I have a question. There is an early war card, but it is shown in player help cards as late war (name: Defectors). It isn't shown as a optional card also. I have a little mindfk in which deck I should place it. Help please

    • @harsh-rules
      @harsh-rules  Před 4 lety

      It's an early war card. The player help must have a typo. Here is a link to BGG below where they discuss it.

    I will start my first game this weekend, and i Have a very stupid question regarding action rounds. So for the early far, there's three turns ( right?) so 18 action rounds? each turn having 6. second question regarding the defcon status and military operations, lets say the defcon is 5, does it mean that each player need to attemps 5 coup or whhathever operations, or have a total of 5 ops point played? thanks

    • @JamesI88
      @JamesI88 Před 5 lety +1

      If defcon is 5 then you need to conduct 5 ops points of military operations to not lose VPs. However, obviously if both players each conduct none, you just break even.

    • @Basilisk4119
      @Basilisk4119 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, it's ops points played

    During your Realignment explanation , at the 2nd modifier step "each controlled adjacent country" , you give USSR a point for controlling Afghanistan , which they dont . Is there something Im missin?

      " Pakistan is adjacent to Afghanistan, and controlled by the USSR."
      Meaning, Pakistan is controlled by the USSR.
