People not understanding why things happen will always be funny to me. They got that many in the paint because he had to step up on Luka, which took him OUT of the paint. That opened up the lob or a baseline cut. They were only that successful because he WASNT in the paint, not the other way around

I didn’t feel comfortable betting on Dallas because Luka hadn’t been looking like himself all playoffs and if he wasn’t going to play amazing I could see Minnesota just being too good .. but this version of Luka I would bet on all day . I’ve never seen a perimeter player so easily be able to manipulate great half court defense with a scoring and passing combo.
Luka healthy is easily the best player in these playoffs, I think people must’ve forgot he’s a generational talent because Dallas had a rough year last year and started off slow this year.

Dallas only started slow because half their starters were injured. People ignored Kyrie, Lively and Maxi all missing 20 games first half of the season.
Luka not only controlled the game, offensively was great but his defensive game was amazing down the stretch. Keep in mind he’s doing this not 100% healthy.

Refs at the end of this game were soft asf. The foul call on Mike for the “subtle but effective push” in the words of Marc Davis and the putback that was overturned pissed me off so much especially because it was barely over the rim and they never call that when it’s that close

While I understand Minnesota being favored on this series, this is definitely winnable for Dallas. Dallas' defense has been elite in the playoffs too so this might come down to which star on either side can do a better job keeping their offense afloat in a defensive minded series
Dallas in 6 this team is just much better ever since that trade and they def above denver too. Kyrie is a different beast compare to jamal and mavs have really good centers unlike denver.

I think Minnesota didnt necessarily take away the role players 3pointers. Mavs just couldnt hit an open 3 to save their lives. Ive seen them go cold before but I think once they see these start to go in, theyll get their percentages back up to average. PJ missed alot of open 3s today which hasnt been the case this playoffs.
