If I were you I would keep em all. You are blessed to have these fish and it was destiny that you found them. Treat them with salts, nox ick and some mela and pima fix so their health regains back and keep them quarantine for about a month. I would also add some stress coat to replace back the slime coat that gets taken out from their transport, plus stress coat has aloe in it so it would help with doing so.
The kin matsuba is absurdly amazing, love it, but even the others!
The butterfly one, the white one, even the one with a red head and black body.. they're all beautiful, if I were you I would end up considering keeping most of them!

Just came upon this channel while researching how to improve my brown thumb in fish keeping. All of those fish are really pretty, I'd definitely keep the larger ones if you've the capacity. But I want to show some love to the white koi who was rescued, it looks REALLY trippy to me.

The long, flared nostril is normal for a Hirenaga (butterfly). Not an injury or defect.

my parents let me dig an awesome pond in their garden when i lived there and a teen. i got a little carried away and made it almost 5 feet deep lol dug for 2 days, then put in the liner and rocks. it was more expensive than they expected but its been many years, i moved out more than 5 years ago now and they still keep it going. my dad just replaced some pumps last week and was complaining about how much this pond is still costing him but i think he likes it deep down.. you can tell that guys wife has been nagging him about that pond for years, "one man gathers what another man spills" i suppose 🤷♂ 😂

The fish are quite safe in the pond with ice on the top unless there is salt in the water. Fresh water will freeze and the salt will be left behind in turn higher concentration of salinity. The water is above freezing so the fish are fine. Goldfish which is the same family as Koi, changes their metabolism during cold water times. They convert carbohydrates into alcohol to prevent their bodies from freezing. This may also happen with Koi but has yet to be studied nor confirmed. My opinion, probably does the same considering same family species and have evolved with snow and ice. The cold and ice is safe for the fish. I believe that the set up that you have for your fish is way too same. My Koi Pond is a minimum of 4 feet by 25x30, 2 waterfalls, large amounts of filtration and crystal clear water. This next Spring, break ground to build a proper pond for your finned friends. I think too that you will not like the smell that the pond water will smell like within your home. I think that you have a big heart and care for your fish. 💕 Prepare for next winter and build them a huge deep steep sided pond with large fish caves. They will live it and you will be able to rest assured they will be OK with cold water.
