Canadians don't consider it as our Independence Day. It is the day that the modern country of Canada was born; thus it is more like our Birthday.

@@sweetpixiesmile Agreed, the celebrations are similar in many ways; its just the reason that is different. It is also important to say that as in the US; celebrations are not the same across either country.

Yeah funny eh? When I heard it I cringed a little. We are in fact not independent in a sense as we are a commonwealth state. But a good comparison for Americans I guess 😊

Americans should know that when they are in a different country and the money has a queen or king on one side then that country is most likely not going to be celebrating INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

As a native Canadian, I love that you were there to witness our culture. The first dancer in yellow is a Fancy Dancer, they are incredible, move super fast, i don't know how they can dance so fast without passing out. The next two dancers were Chicken Dancers, not traditionally old dancing style but still fun to watch. The next one who is holding hands with the people is a Grass Dancer, traditionally these dancers begin ceremonial tradition for such things as pow-wow's, it starts with them.
Lastly, when everyone is holding hands dancing in a circle, its called a round dance, traditionally it's a way of bringing people together from different tribes and cultures. When dancing, the people follow the path of the sun.
I'm so happy you included this in your video, enjoy your time visiting our great country.

True. Thankfully poutine isn't some fancy dish. It's simple enough to make tasty in a variety of ways. Just need the basics: tasty gravy, fresh curds, fries that can take the moisture.

Glad you found a better poutine and got a better idea of what we rave about. The funny thing is that was probably a decent ish poutine… and many would argue about the poutine being better where they are. I’m not from there, but many feel like poutine in Quebec is the best… it definitely is partly because they have really great fresh curds there.

Love that you were in Canada on Canada Day 🎉. I was at Banff only once, I live in Ontario, and I was with a friend so we only had one day. You have seen so much more than I. Mi plan to return and explore within the next 2 years. You really need to go East also to NewBrunswick and Nova Scotia, another beautiful are to explore and hike. And Vancouver Island is wonderful with ocean, largest trees, mountains and if you ever go try to get to Butchard Gardens and Salt Spring Island while there. Thanks for visiting and for your videos. I’m on Manitoulin Island visiting with a friend right now 😊.

Hey, I'm a little late as you can see, but enjoyed the video and watch you two wander around. Glad to see you enjoyed your stay. Take care I'm going to go play catch up, get my drift. Later, and as always, "Enjoy The Adventure." 🤠👍✌

Canada really goes all out to protect and preserve our wildlife. When we travelled to Gettysburg we were astonished at the amount of deer we saw perished on the roadside. 😢 I’m happy that Banff was everything you expected it to be. Safe travels ❤️

Hope you got a chance to meet a symbol of our country on Canada Day, a Mountie in full dress uniform 😊

Fireworks have been banned almost everywhere on Canada Day because of forest fires

Welcome to Alberta! While you’re here and if you have a chance, you really should try to make your way to Waterton National Park in the southwest corner of the province. Smaller, less crowded but equally spectacular. I’m lucky to live close enough that we take several trips there every year. ❤🇨🇦

Glad you guys are enjoying Canada..Banff was in my background for 20+ years, we love the maritime now, but miss the mountains. Happy you guys got some great poutine finally. BTW, we don't have interstates in Canada 🙂
