MaxPax is actually a pair of identical twins, with Max using the keyboard and doing macro, while Pax uses the mouse and does micro. They communicate telepathically.
That's why you will never see MaxPax at offline events.

Lowko, you don't need to worry about someone flashier coming and taking your public away. One of the reasons I love watching your videos is your attitude, which is really positive, respectful, and fun. Watching videos with you is like being with a good friend and hanging out. It would take a lot of "flash" to create an atmosphere as appealing as what you create by just being you. Keep up the excellent work. You are a wonderful SC2 ambassador.

Saw that too. While Lowko was already paying attention to something else, about to the camera away, we could witness just the turn around of that reaper towards the adept. Its unavoidable conclusion was confirmed by the little disappearance of a blue dot on the map.
At that precise second, the whole reddit "everything terran" felt a disturbance in the force.

@@LowkoTV The reason you still only have 500k subs and will never hit a million like other casters is because you always show favoritism to european players (praising/bias towards Serral, MaxPax, Clem, etc.). You called MaxPax the best Protoss when Hero is statistically and objectively the superior player. That's not very smart for your CZcams income and career when you alienate the majority of viewers who are Korean. I spoke with my Korean starcraft group and I asked them if they know LowKo and they all said "Oh that's that european guy who hates the Korean pros, yeah we hate him". Smarten up and think big, you small northern european neanderthal.
10:30 Colossus is a fully robotic unit. No Protoss body or soul involved. Zeratul retrieved some from under the ocean in the Protoss mini campaign in Wings of Liberty. Colossus are also part of the Purifier armies in Legacy of the Void, which are all robotic. I think the Colossus is highly inspired by the alien robots in HG Wells War of the Worlds.
Also consider that pylons literally float, protoss have no issue suspending things in the air.
New words:
“Artillery”: tanks, disrupters, brute lords.
“Armored infantry”. Marauders, roaches, immortals.
“(Map) Intelligence” explorers, scans, creep.
“Sabotage (supply lines)” mine drops, zealot runs, bailing runs.
Strategic = macro
Tactic = micro

50:30 I was never good at Starcraft, I would never even play anything except custom maps back in the Broodwar days and only did single player on SC2. But, I will still stop by to watch your casts. Appreciate you for keeping Starcraft in my life in some way!

I think you can easily compare it with cell phones. When first phones with color display came, they were amazing. Now you would have headache to read on such wierd colored low quality screen. I think when you have started, everyone was happy for any caster that kept uploading good content. I remember that there wasnt enough people. At these days, you upload in very good quality and with such positivity, that is really easy to stick around. I think you have nothing to worry about regarding the past, and thank you very much for always doing good work. I honestly appreciate it.

Well they both are still clearly improvable. With a Serral or a Maru, I could in the past get this feeling of overwhelming power.
To me, Reynor was the only one who could compete. He seems to take it easy lately however.
I wonder how much current Clem & Maxpax good results are related to new patch era. They seemed to "awaken" before that so there's some hope they'll confirm. We will see.
Also, Maxpax will have to go to offline tournaments, rather sooner than later, if he wants to reach the top.

Also, unfortunately Maru has had it rough lately. He’s been uncharacteristically underperforming and making a lot of bad calls

For a new word to add to your vocabulary, I would opt for "efficacy."
It means "the ability to produce a desired or intended result."
Example: The efficacy of using Ultralisks to win a game in the previous balance patch is really low.
a word to add to the cast: "verschlimmbessert" - still one of the best german words and means "tried to improve things, but made it much worse"
Lowko asks for a like, so I think - ok, I won't lose anything, I'll give him a like. Five seconds later I hear "thank you by the way, I appreciate it" and my heart warms. What splendid social engineering! :D

Hi Lowko.
Longtime viewer and lurker here. I don't actually play the game that much but i enjoy your casts a lot and frequent your specific channel due to your energy and love for the game.
Apart from wanting to thank you for the great relaxation time i get every lunchtime at work (where i usually watch your uploads) i wanted to share a small nitpick thing that made me frustrated recently without me actually realizing it:
Basically, i wish you could sprinkle in some more basic trivia and little known facts about the game. Minute game mechanics that players know of but viewers might never consider to be relevant like what the actual buffs for zerg units on creep are or how many times a Mutalisk projectile actually can ricochet between targets.
i realize that this is usually considered baseline knowledge and you already do it for so many of other mechanics when they are actually relevant to a cast so it's not a "you are not doing it at all" thing but more of a "i wish you'd talk about even more niche stuff" kinda deal.
For example: the creep thing, i have been most confused about for a long time now, but i never thought of looking it up in the moment because i'm caught in the action but i also forget afterwards. Now, admittedly, you actually spoke about it recently, so my curiosity was sated but there was another thing that has had me bothered and frustrated at the inconsistency for months now and i only now managed to look it up mid-cast.
I'm talking about the Widow Mine. Specifically the seemingly inconsistent way it is detected by the enemy of a terran.
Looking up the Wiki i quote "Widow Mines are revealed while Sentinel Missile is on cooldown. The existence of an Armory will grant burrowed Widow Mines invisibility while reloading. The existence is indicated on all the player's Widow Mines by a red light appearing on top."
Specifically this second part has been driving me nuts and i am reasonably certain that you have not made a note of this in one of your casts from the past two years or so.
Edit.: At least now, when i rewatch it, you make a note of it at 32:40 but you don't actually say that the armory was the important building IN RELATION or indicate the lights turning red on the mine.
Now that i know why Z or P sometimes miss them even when they are reloading, i can just look at active buildings and see if an Armory is there but i sure do hope this was something that you just casually dropped like a snack bit of trivia two years or so ago.
either way, thank you very much for your dedication for the cast and i'll absolutely be a big fan of your work for the foreseeable future.
Supercalafragalistic is definitely a word you should use more often in you casts.
Lowko [51:15], I think it is your beautiful narration that is promoting an increase of the community. Despite what you thought back then, the reason you are having it still is you are attracting first time comers like crazy, which is not others have been able to do as much. An the reason for that is your narrative style. Let me elaborate a bit on that:
1) You explain what things do over and over and it never gets boring, do not ever stop that. When its your first SC2 match, you make any viewer understand what these updates do, or what you need to do to get the next, make people understand what you are speaking in terminology and know how. For example, keep telling the amount of health combat shield is gonna give and what percent increase is that. This does not get old even if you know it.
2) You keep explaining tactics and pay attention to the early game. You keep explaining how to build order will/could continue. And you explain things as you are experiencing, like, quoting: "well clem really needs to reposition these hellba...theeere you go, now its gonna make zerling harder to attack from that side, but not after the zergling speed upgrade which has only 10 seconds to complete, apparently Dark is also thinking that and now he decided to pull the trigger once again, he's a mad man..." etc etc. Amazing! Listening to the thought processes is amazing!
No need to categorize:you know how didactic your style is, and this is lowering the learning curve to single digits, making it enjoyable to first timers.
3) Your non-professional style. You keep rolling back to catch what you missed. Your informal references to stuff. Your sympathetic down to earth style. I feel like I am watching it. Appreciation of interesting things around the map not related to the gameplay at all. Not taking it that extreme serious. Also amazing..
As a SC fan, I had not liked the SC2 before you, and you got me back into the game, made install it once more and keeping me interested in the game. I am not playing much, and am playing like shit really, but I am very much keen on listening the pro tactics from you and wondering how it'd go if I was able to execute them in the ladder.
Anyway, I think you should, and will be, appreciated much much more over the next of course of years. You are not only getting a part of slice from the existing viewer base, but actively generating more under your slice.
And also, now that I know about the game pretty well thanks to you, I can start enjoying the matches in other YT channels but its boring there besides the match, but you are quite fun. Adding your didactic approach to this fun-ness is making you unparalled. You deserve every bit of praise in this YT channel as you get both in comments and in YT numbers.
I sincerely hope you dont get bored of this or sc2 any time soon.

I started watching your casting after husky dropped off the earth and have loved your content ever since! I'm glad we have a few amazing casters after all this time.
Love how you can go in with 10 PLUS THREE CARRIERS, a Mothership, and a group of stalkers and get melted by terran with a group of vikings and marines. like cmon man.
Much bigger group of vikings, though. Upgraded too.

That 10 range on Vikings is ridiculous, it should be 8. Carriers and Colossus are so hard countered by them its ridiculous nad if u build stalkers to counter the counter, well they get destroyed by the marines. It's a lose-lose for Protoss.
Terran can use the same group of units to hard counter a broad range and can stack debuffs like emp and anti armor

Not a regular. But I do pop by now and then - watching your videoes. Every single time you convince me to take another go at SC2. I'm protoss by heart, but I've never been good at maneging all their abilities. Thank you for fueling my lust for SC... every single time

The Viking needs to either be more expensive or take longer to construct OR not be effected by a reactor. HUGELY powerful for what you invest, especially since they can "siege" also.

almost 95 percent of people in metal leagues make more use of a single BC than of a half dozen kivings
Vikings get annihilated by Storm and Stalkers. If you don't babysit them constantly they drop like flies. They are fine.
In 1v1:
Zerg owns all.
Terran owns Protoss.
Protoss owns none...
... unless you're MaxPax.
(Sick series! I love watching pro PvT winning because it's so difficult vs pro Terran.)
Colossi are entirely robotic. But hey, there are already artificial intelligences for terran in starcraft, the adjutants, so i don't think we'll be seeing a terran (or even real life human) colossus anytime soon e.e

I think one of the issues is that the protoss reactive units depends on the opponent to be good, either he forgets about detection or gets a disruptor in the face. There is no unit that depends on the player to recover, like with blink stalker.

as for if there is a pilot for the laser giraffes, in the SC2 campaign you get them when you go to the AI world as they are controlled by AI. same with the Tempest and a bunch of campaign specific units like the Energizer and Sentinel. so they do not have pilots (or at least flesh and blood pilots).

New vocabulary term: reconnaissance in force.
Regular recon is done with the expectation of avoiding significant combat, in SC this might be a scouting worker or a single zergling, stuff like that. Recon in force is more like a scouting party, with the expectation of some combat.
The purpose of recon in force is to compel the opponent to expose his army position and composition, without committing the entire army to combat.
Amazing series.

What a great series of games.
This series highlights that yes terran has the explosive widow mine drop, which can be deadly if the protoss stops paying attention for five seconds, but protoss has the disrupter, which is also explosive in it's damage if the terrans stop paying attention for five seconds.
I liked those videos from 7 years ago - they were more light-hearted and cheerful
taste's like "schnitzel" as a phrase 4, thats goes so well
You can see almost all of the Protoss building units flying in the air, the Colossus is probably using those levitation technologies
words to use suggestions:
"artificial intelligence quotient" (made up by me) = some stat of making something making absolute sense in vacuum but given the circumstances it's one of the worst possible decisions.
example: "Maru's artificial intelligence quotient went through the roof lately. I did not expect him to delay a CC for that extra Tank. What did that Tank achieve? A 3-hatch ling flood in his backyard?"
"homing pigeon" = Widow Mine's projectile
"flying colon" = Mutalisk
"flying comma" = Corruptor
"off-racing as British" = playing Zerg (Queen pun intended)
"now that's rich" = a player makes an exceptionally risky decision bordering with pure madness ("Scarlett is going for a double 3rd Hatch before Pool. Now that's rich!")
"has this %unit_name% considered getting a job?" = this unit is idling for a very long time
"Skunkling" = Baneling that traded inefficiently (e.g. was sacrificed for a Thor)
"Italians" = Protoss units
"things went Harstem" = a unit or a group of units was used in a stupid way and died (IODIS material)
"r/AllThingsEminem" = when a player has a crazy APM count but doesn't win
"jackpot winner/loser" = extremely efficient/inefficient trader (>2 times difference)
"went for a 30 inch pizza" = similar to "now that's rich" but not to that extent. ("Gumigod went for a 30 inch pizza with his early expansion on the low ground")
"%player_name% knows where Brazil is" = you didn't expect this player to have this skill ("Did you see that? A Bronze player who got his Orbital going! DemonLord knows where Brazil is!")
"Oh my God! They killed Kenny!" = when a unit you expected to die actually dies
"seems %player_name% is wearing their software developer stockings" = when a player makes a game very chaotic

Protoss: offensive recall with 20 stalkers, 7 carriers, and disruptors.
Marines: Just auto attacks with marines and valkeries and kills everything but some retreating stalkers.
I got the thumbnail with the green circle, what is obviously better then a red "x", and as such I watched imminently!
This doesn't change teh fact that we never even got to TOUCH the version of the Mothership they showed in the demo 10 years ago in any game mode. Yes I'm still bitter about that and will forever be because blizzard deserves it

To be honest I'm surprised no one takes advantage of the Mothership as a defensive unit. On demand cloaking/time warp to stall attacks, and keeping an extra recall at home so you can have your army on the map rather than at home

When I look back to my previous projects, I feel bad about it too, I want to make it better too.
I know people pluralise colossus as colossi but the proper pluralisation in English is colossuses. Of course that doesn't sound as fancy. Colossus is a Greek rooted word and people pluralise it as colossi which is a Latin pluralisation, which funnily sort of doesn't make sense in that context. Still colossi is legit to use xD
You know what's worse? When casters use "colossi" for a single colossus.

About you talking about trying new phrases or words: more than me offering some, maybe this would be a would be a good use of chatGPT! (actually, this is your idea, you said in another video it would be a good idea to get new map names). Try asking it different way to say some phrases that you feel you use repeatedly. One that pops in my head I hear you use frequently (though not in this video) is "put all eggs in one basket".
