It’s a little remembered fact that the 2:1 valve gear was actually invented by Harry Holcroft, and not by Nigel Gresley. But the N1 and U1 3 cylinder locomotives drove the link 1:1 link from the opposite end of the valve chest. That beautiful model has a very robust-looking set-up, and I simply can’t imagine problems with the inside valve over-running. Such a pity that they were unable to fix the anomaly. The Bulleid valve gear was better, whilst it was looked after, but his problem was that there wasn’t sufficient room for the Piston Valve rocking levers which whipped and amplified backlash further back. He was hampered by the war and prejudice. He proposed a 2-8-2, Gear driven camshafts and so forth, but gears weren’t available. I’m certain that if he had more time, and stayed on after the catastrophic absorption into the Languid Mediocre Slovenly (LMS) railway posing as BR, he would have fixed the problems and saved a fortune. Maybe made the innovative Leader Class work.
Many people to see mechanical engineering and fine arts as opposites, but when you see things like this you realize that mechanical engineering really just is kinetic sculpture that does something useful.
Very interesting, a Pacific loco with Gresley conjugated lever controlling the inner cylinder. Obviously not a Gresley loco so what class of loco and what country
The overall shape of Japanese Steam locomotives look somewhat similar to the Victorian Railways Steam Locomotives in Australia, to me it Looks like a cross between a VR K class, a VR R class and a NSWGR C38 class Edit, it looks more like a VR S class locomotive
there were 2 C53 class in the world. One from Japan (this chassis and wheels in this video) and the other in Indonesia. Although the C53s in Indonesia had no sucess and more of a failed engine
Can you call my dad because I never tried the train before so I’ll just give me it who it who it to my hey Siri and then and then we will take care of this for you and we will make a sad for you. We don’t lose it I will put a railway hey I want for the highway 100 everywhere we don’t Toledo they don’t have Abby everybody doesn’t have to go anywhere with her car will put a sad and every.

I really love these locomotive testings.
Lovely engineering here! Love it! Cheers
AMAZING WORK AND NOISE
This kinda reminds me of Gordon and henry's wheels
Superb craftsmanship .
Beautiful. I can’t wait to see my 4-8-4 doing that under air.
Absolutely beautiful work
That is damn well made!
Engineered to perfection!
Simply beautiful.
Very nice, like !!

The prototype is Japan National Railway's type C53 locomotive.

Edit, it looks more like a VR S class locomotive
1000 thumbs up!!! Very good work!
I do like that sound
Oke untuk ilmu pengetahuan
Kinetic art.
is that a veriation of Gresley/Halcroft valve gear for the middle cylinder?
The Gresley conjugated valve gear is employed.
very nice
All can say is 100% WOW !!
Un tripudio di meccanica!😀
How to cotrol move and regultor exhuast steam 2 valves ander or dowen piston.steam train.thnks for you...
This is the most beautiful 3 cylinder boogey i ever seen
Where can you find drawings for JNR and/or JGR steam locomotives?
Fantastic.
Thanks for upload,.
I'm still not very sure the purpose / functions of the lever (painted in black).

What is the bar the pistons are rocking back and forth in front of the locomotive for?
To answer your steam locomotive question it is for the valve on the center piston
@@wesbrackmanthercenthusiast4695 oh ok
add the train body pls
What country are the C53s from?
