The 1st BCS champion was Tennessee vs FSU in 1998. The 1993was Not bcs championship game.. FSU won the ap and coaches poll IN 1993.

Yeah this wasn't done too well. He also did not mention how ND was beaten a week later in 1993 giving FSU a move back up in the rankings which got them to the NC game that year. Showing the Britney Spears, Eminem, etc. videos to give an idea of the 90s was completely unnecessary too. Seemed like this was put together without doing some fact checking which leads me to believe they don't really know that much about FSU.
FSU had a third string QB vs Tennessee, should have won anyway.

This has been an amazing series covering the history of Florida State football and I can’t wait for the final part to release. I also loved all the old game footage you included in this one. I’m honestly kinda in disbelief in how many total national championships they have been to in total and I never knew about. I really wish Bobby could’ve won more than 2 during all the time he was there for. If only his kickers hadn’t failed him so many times I guess 😅

Great video man! I’m extremely surprised you didn’t point out that fsu was forced to play the Natty game against Tennessee with a 3rd string QB who had never taken a single snap (we lost our 1st string QB to freak injury before the season started & then lost our backup in the game against UF)…not to take anything away from Tennessee. It was a fair game aside from the fake officiating via overturning that 💯 legal & successful onside kick recovery…fake calls for SEC teams in title games was a very real thing that everyone knew about back then. Before the age of “review” it was simply a thing any team not in the sec just had to put up with…but that isn’t Tennessee’s fault & they were a great team regardless. We still had our chances & lost, hats off to the victors…but it’d be silly for anyone to try an argue that having an 18 year old kid who never played a single collegiate snap before or after that one nationally televised game against one of THE best defenses in the country didn’t put FSU at a significant disadvantage. Truth be told I’m ok with THAT season…but no one will EVER be able to explain to me why it’s “legitimate” that UF got to lose their ONLY game to fsu by 3 points & STILL receive a spot in the title game one year buuut the VERY NEXT YEAR when fsu lost their ONLY game to UF, by 3 points, in the swamp (in a year when there were NOT multiple undefeated teams)…suddenly their was a “decision” by the committee to “not reward end of seasons losses, regardless of competition”🤔🤯👌🏻
Before someone with no actual to Knowledge of those seasons decides to chime in with an excuse I can probably anticipate…FSU was #1 at the time AND had the #2 SOS in 1997…UF was #3 at the time & had the #37 SOS 2 years before when they were rewarded for losing.

I miss the QB thing sorry, I didn't catch it until I was get ready to upload. But I agree the on side kick is the reason we lose and we 💯 recovered that on side kick 🤬 this is why I never trust a zebra , the whole game had an egregious level of refBall, I guess we should have paid the refs more.

There was no BCS the season of FSU vs Nebraska in 93
You are incorrect about the BCS distinction for the 93 season. Florida State was chosen based on their position in both the AP and USA (which is now the Coaches Poll). FSU did play in the first and last BCS National Championship games in 98 against Tennessee and in 2013 against Auburn. The BCS did not come into existence until 1998.

1993 didn’t have a BCS…
Beastie Boys were the first successful white rappers. Licensed to Ill was a huge hit and was the first rap album ever to top the Billboard charts. Also, pretty sure first BCS was 1998. (USAToday, “ Ranking the 16 BCS national champions “). Fun fact, FSU played in the first and last BCS bowl games.
Rewatching that 93 Nebraska game it reminded me how much of a beast Tommy Frazier was. Florida State has been able to hold off two of the great mobile quarterbacks in college football history in Frazier and Vick.
💯 I had forgotten just how unstoppable Vick was if he hadn't come in trouble off the field then who knows what he could have done. I never Frazier play live but watching that game should what a great play he was . Thx for watching come back soon.
