    You’re amazing. I love all the great ways you’ve shown how to use the SAK. I’ve carried a SAK for years, but never knew these techniques. Between you and Felix Immler, I have higher respect for the Victorinox knives than before.

    Good job, but ... North of the Equator. reversed in the southern hemisphere.

    • @nikgyver7
      @nikgyver7  Před 7 lety

      the trick with the clock is for northern hemisphere..for southern hemisphern turn the "12 hour' of your clock to the sun and the line between 12 hour and small hour arrow show the north...

  • @bushcraftnorthof6012
    @bushcraftnorthof6012 Před 6 lety

    Neat hacks, but interesting to see how they work up north here. Next time I’m up at 80 degrees latitude, I’ll check them. Unless it’s late in the year. No sun then. Take care!

    • @nikgyver7
      @nikgyver7  Před 6 lety

      i am also to the north hemisphere,but not so north.(i have a comment on the screen about north and south hemisphere,with the clock works with reverse).it works in you place but you have more declination in your compass.you must to adjust the declination in your compass.here is 4.5 degrees east.all these tricks show the real north.no sun,look the stars.

      @lesliemiller7534 Před 3 lety +1

      It will work anytime as long as you mark the end of the shadow, wait 20 minutes (I normally wait 30), and mark the end of the new shadow. The first will always be west and the last will always be east (this is only an approximate line, and is NOT accurate enough for for declination map use). This will give you a good general direction for any direction using the four points of the compass

Weight? 0.00 Grams Value: Priceless or Your Life, pick one. I suggest we learn all three and practice till they are deeply embedded in our brains ....

    Magnetic north and true north have a difference so pointless comparing the two. And if you take military time... In this case 1300. And divide by two which would be 0630..... Point 0630 at the sun and 1200 points north.
    Faster and easier

      Faster and easier? Yeah. I'll just whip out my 24 hour Watch that reads "military time" the next time I have one and figure out if you are running off UTC or what time zone you happen to think "military time" is. In other words, don't be a douche bag.

    • @zchuss1
      @zchuss1 Před 4 lety

      @@kd5txo hahaha really you need a watch with the 24 hour clock printed on its face to know it.
      Secondly I am a trucker and this is the only thing I would need utc time for.
      I guess you never used anything other than a digital watch.
      Also did you calculate the extra hour for dst on the watch diagram or was this done in January.
      Read books by Tristan Gooley you will learn a lot.
      And I have been natural navigating most of my life.... So douche bag... Nope.... Ignorant no.... Trying to give some friendly info from my and many others perspective and knowledge yes.
      But if you think that's insulting you then so be it... That makes you very nieve as everyone is always learning... Including you and me.
      Oh before I forget my way works with a full moon only the poles are reversed... North is South.
