- What does the inside of our cabin look like? Today we are sharing a walk through tour of our off grid cabin interior. The interior is not yet complete, but this video shows you the layout, our progress and what still needs to be done on the cabin build. Great idea about adding the propane heater as a backup! Just be sure to run it every so often to make sure you’re first time using it while away isnt a disaster 😊

I think your cabin is just beautiful!! I love all the windows! You both are so lucky to have such a wonderful place to call home. With all the nature around you my hope is that down the road you will add a massive front porch!! It will be the ideal place to listen to the birds and watch the wildlife. That morning cup of coffee is gonna taste extra good in a rocking chair on a big porch!! Good job with all that you've done so far. I'm sure the rest of the work and interior will measure up!! Just an after thought......perhaps that massive porch would serve you well on the back side of the cabin. It looks like just woods back there. Wow!! How inviting!! Love your videos!!

Been a while since I checked out your build, coming along great. I'm in northern NY and get some cold Temps also. A vented and sealed battery box is the way to go, I have mine in the bedroom closet and never had any issues. What capacity is your water tank? I also have my water tank (200) gallons in the house and use a 12 volt pump to pressurize the system with a small propane on demand water heater for hot water. I find 200 gallons lasts two weeks except when I have to water the garden,then I go through much more. Luckily my place had a well and septic when I bought it. The rain water collection is a great idea but what about the colder months?
Thanks for sharing, it is great to hear your battery box works well! Our water tank is about 1000 L. I am hoping we get 2 weeks of water, glad to hear you do. We are not 100% sure about the cold months but probably for the first winter we will fill a tank on our truck from a well or spring elsewhere and bring it to the cabin to pump in. Hopefully this is not a long term solution.
