  • I was searching for sand flea rakes and found the cheap one were built cheaply, and didn't want to pay $100 + for what seemed to be a quality one. so I made one myself for about $50. that I know is solid. It weighs about 4 pounds so once I use it for about an hour I will add a update.

    Great job! I’ve been going to buy me a rake. Would save money and time just raking a few times and getting a days supply. Like your channel.. subbed!

    Rivets are fine but I would use a MAP gas torch and aluminum rods from Harbor Freight and braze those pieces together. Stronger joints and a cleaner look.

    • @anglerissues2309
      @anglerissues2309  Před 3 lety

      I agree. That’s what I did , I used the rivets basically to hold everything in place until I brazed it with the aluminum rods. Thanks for watching.

    Nice job. How did you attach the screen to the angle?

    • @anglerissues2309
      @anglerissues2309  Před 3 lety

      I used the thinnest aluminum flat stock I could find by 1/2 inch and cut to length, placed on top of the expanded metal (screen) drilled through the angle and flat stock then used aluminum rivets. The flat stock acted as a washer basically. Thanks for the question and view.

      @@anglerissues2309 Thank you. Would a bead of aluminum hold it as well, just ran down the angle?

    What kind of steel mess did you use Aluminum of galvanized steel?

    • @anglerissues2309
      @anglerissues2309  Před 2 lety

      I could not find aluminum so I used galvanized, but attached it so it could be replaced. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks for watching, that torch head is from harbor freight sku# 91061. I use it with map gas and it puts out a lot of heat 🔥.

      What type of rods are you using to weld it together?

    • @anglerissues2309
      @anglerissues2309  Před 3 lety

      Galaxy 3 Tablet They are alumiweld rods that can be purchased at harbor freight. Real easy to use. The key is cleaning the work surface to manufacture specs. Good luck and thanks for watching.
