      @alexshaykevich509 Před 5 lety +54

      Those IPF spotters and Olympic stands are a joke. They obviously don't give a shit about safety. It's trivial to set up a cage/monolift and safety straps, you can still dictate that the bar has to be walked out. This is all kinds of stupid.

    • @ArtyYooo
      @ArtyYooo Před 5 lety +67

      To be fair, when the weight is divided it's not heavy at all. 200kg, with 4 spotters, is them carrying a shared weight of 50kg each, i.e. like 1 person spotting a bar with half a plate on each side. It's a lot of weight, but with more people it gets less and less. It's the same reason why groups of people on the side walk are able to flip cars after car crashes etc., division of labor.

      this was the topic of the squats from the two guys on the mic. when these guys are so big you cant really see the hip crease anymore and with the quad size so big they pretty much go as low as there body's will allow

    • @Rezan661
      @Rezan661 Před 4 lety +1

      Mole Hansman the judge failed the lift with a yellow card and a yellow card can mean a lot of things. Most likely it was due to a reason that we could not see like him lifting his feet off of the ground, or him touching his feet to part of the bench.

    • @Rezan661
      @Rezan661 Před 4 lety +1

    Are you kidding me with these depth calls? The IPF really needs to sort their shit out when it comes to calling depth. If you are going to put in the rule book that the crease of the hip must be below the top of the knee, then call it that way! It’s not 1inch below the top of the knee, or 2 inches below the top of the knee. If it is, then change the rules so there is no confusion. SMH IPF

      No it's not - show people a picture of a somebody doing a squat and ask them where the crease of the hip is and ask them where the top surface of the leg at the hip joint is is and you'll get different answers every time. If you check the rule books very few even mention the "crease of the hip" liftbigeatbig.com/the-thin-line-between-champ-and-chump-squat-depth-in-powerlifting/

      @CloudCrash Před 5 lety

      Joe Nextlifter I understand where you are coming from. I went through that whole article and found most federations mention a hip joint/crease. IPF does say top of thigh at hip but their diagram looked no different from many of the others so it was pretty confusing.

    very different forms for clinton and willians. Willians does both over hand with a sumo style and each hand is more far apart than what I would expect. when Williams deadlifts he drops into it then pulls right away rather than squating slightly down like many do. I would think this would mess him up because he is rolling the bar slightly right before exploding up. He knows what he is doing and what is comfortable for him. The different forms and styles that work for different people is one of the things that makes this sport fun to watch
