SPECS
Music notation software: Sibelius 6.0
Audio merge: Audacity
Sound font: Some online midi-to-mp3-converter that doesn't seem to exist anymore
Movie: Windows Movie Maker
Transcription: my ears®
Thanks to all of you, I haven't checked in for a while, but I really appreciate everyone watching this!
Here's a quick FAQ for the comments below.
- I added some specifications for how I made this vid to the description for those of you who are interested.
- The original 'hotewig.sib'-file has vanished, together with my old PC, so unfortunately I can't provide you with any MIDI, PDF, or other related source material.
- Unfortunately the online midi-to-mp3-converter I used to render the MIDI is off the air. But it was very basic, so you should be able to find similar engines when googling for 'midi-to-mp3'.
- This must've taken me a few days to make, on-and-off. In my memory it was definitely doable in the sense that it's basically about transcribing 75 isolated micro-songs. Transcribing parts of the History of Japan movie was much more laborious than this.
- On that note, I won't finish the History of Japan transcription, I lost interest for transcribing bill wurtz for now, perhaps some other time. However, I'll be putting out some new content on a regular basis on short notice, so stay tuned for that.
Take care, Bram

My guyyyyyy, I CANNOT even begin to imagine the length of time it took to listen to all these jingles, analyse them, choose instruments, score them and then create this video with timestamps for each one. God-like, crazy behaviour, if you ask me. Congrats to you and thank you!
"Now the Phoenicians can get down to business" became the swankiest ringtone ever 1:57
4:14 is just beautiful

My favorite jingle
1:35 Trump every 10 seconds
3:14 gives me chills
Bill is a genius with all these chords and progressions. I'm only a novice at reading and analyzing music.
4:23 is my most favorite jingle
Let me be honest. It’s all just jingles, which isn’t what I had in mind, but it’s all gentle, soothing keyboard music, and I love it all. I really do. 😌
0:05 sounds like a star sound 2.0
I hope someone makes these in My Singing Monsters Composer or something
Of all things I expected to find in this comment section, I did nOT expect My Singing Monsters here, lol
Yo found Steven Universe pfp user here.
Hello fellow MSM player 😉
If only it was that easy
and they wrote some hymns and mantras and stuff
0:16 the more you know
There are 75 Jingles in History of the world, I guess
Bill Wurtz himself only counts 66 though: billwurtz.com/questions/q.php?date=201611200926
You are a godsend. Even if the MIDI is gone, the notes are enough.

I’m surprised I’m not seeing love for 3:04 “It’s the Golden Age of India?” In my opinion it’s one of the best!

hi. just thought i'd ask you something. do you do your transcriptions by ear? also, when do you think the rest of the history of japan's jingles will be transcibed? -Sequoyah p.s you did a good job.

thanks for that, out of context it sounded like 'ding' :)
Mightily impressive. Would be great to have a condensed piano version of this, for live performance...
You can make a religion out of this
I hate society
3.32
The jingle at 3:55 isn't "Ding," it's "Ming," as in the dynasty.
Is it me or does 4:03 feel a bit nostalgic.
important to note that Bill Wurtz has gone on record saying he is entirely self taught musically. none of this is done with theory. the more you think about this man the better he gets
Theory is really just a way of explaining things that already exist, and its all from 18th century European music
@@arandomsupra Truer words have never been typed
If you check out his website he talks theory in phenomenal depth in his “questions” section but I think it’s awesome he’s taught himself so much about how music functions on his own! Didn’t know he was self taught.
0:41 bro didn’t include the “why”
It’s not Ding its Ming but whatever 😂
