How To Install a Letterbox To a Door | DIY Know How

Today we demonstrate how to fit a letterbox - from measuring up, cutting the hole to fixing the hardware. In this video we also fit a draught excluding letterbox. Easy DIY project.

Great video and super helpful, thanks. Would you recommend adding a flange or silicone between the sprung letter box and the front of the door?

Generally you don't have to add a weather seal, but I suppose adding silicone between the letter plate and the door wont do any harm.

Is it possible to fit a 'traditional' chrome letterbox to a 'developers regular' composite door too. Or is the process completely different?

Generally composite doors have a different style letter box, but you can get them in chrome.
