If I hear 'Remember Drill Safety' one more time...
Good video. I recommend attaching a Snail Sakk Mail Catcher to the inside as well, so as to catch the mail. Love my letterbox - so convenient.
Thank you 💕. Very nicely explained.
Thanks followed to the letter. Mission accomplished
All I can remember is my "Drill safety".
Probably better if u use a spirit level or a square when marking out the position in the first place.. Never assume that the bottom of the door will be level as it will have been cut to "fit" the ground level ! And... when drilling fixing holes, it's easier to drill the largest "lug-holes" first.
Careful. Doesn't cover fact that many, if not most, letter plates' spring & hinges overlap main aperture & need a section cut out above each side of the screw holes.
Better to drill those lugholes before going right through for the bolts. Then you can use the point of the flat bit as a guide.
I prefer their previous video "watching paint dry".
You put a big split on the inside of the door when you drilled the bolt holes
You should have mentioned that a postman needs to be able to put letters through this letter box safely. IE, with out breaking fingers on an over strong spring resisting the flap, and not having to push their fingers through the letter box to overcome the completely unnecessary draught flap. As well as not getting there fingers bitten off by a Dog. Lots of safety advice for the fitter, but no consideration for the person who is going to be using it, the postman.
I got to step 19, the test, but it failed, now what do I do? Oh and when can I remove my goggles?
Do it now.... 6 years now so you should be safe.
@@landcruiser801 I recommend keeping the goggles on for another year, better safe than sorry.
PS. Please do not fit a cage to catch the letters as this will prevent larger items been put through the the letter box.
step 1 D.I.Y Dont Involve Yourself
