the reason for the observation isnt related to their p/t but because when they die they cause their controller to gain life. Some things like invigorate cause an opponent's life to change as a cost to cast the spell. With Emperion out, you wouldn't be able to cast the spell for that cost.
Ya I spent too long trying to figure out how the hell they came to that conclusion lol doesn't make any dang sense to me!
Banefire is uncounterable and the damage can't be prevented, surely it will resolve right? RIGGHHTTTT?
No when Mat dies all the spells on the stack that he has cast becomes exiled and no longer exist.

The Myrkul, Lord of Bones deck is a great deck! Literally everything I expected.🙏
Both Jaheira and Myrkul look like very fun commanders. Jaheira ramped crazy good, while Myrkul generated a ton of value with doublers. I didn't see either played before, but they are definitely on my radar now.

Good to see someone running Majestic genesis. If you’re in green and your commander is 5 cmc or more I think it’s just great value. That card has swung the game for me several times.

So for people wondering about the pest/Emperion observation, the pests still die. The lifegain isn't a cost required for the pests to die, so their death still happens, the lifegain just doesn't. Its like if a lifelink creature does damage with an emperion on the same side of the board. Damage still goes through but the lifegain doesn't. This is in contrast to the alternate cost of invigorate not being able to be paid, and the card not being able to be cast for that alternate cost.
One of the best games I've seen on your channel. Loved Dom's deck. Try to keep a blue source in your opener next time Andrew..

I love my Extus-Adventures deck. Always fun getting the creature value for being an adventure.

6:00 Mat played a land from his card exiled with apex of power but you can only cast spells from amongst those cards.
It doesn’t seem to affect anything I don’t think but should know how that interaction works in the future if he keeps the deck

12:00 you should think about spells with mulitple payoffs and targets, like magma opus, fight with fire and sublime epiphany. Get some non leagendary creatures that have etb's and you're good imo
Built Myrkul when he came out but god damn is he hard to make work. So much set up and mana intensive.

Syr Konrad triggers twice for nontoken sacs, right? Once for them hitting the graveyard and once again for leaving (exile)... At least I think so, yeah?

I got my Myrkul deck (still early stage) in my binder.
The hardest thing to do was to cut it down to 100 cards.
That is the toughest part of building any Commander deck. Too many cool cards exist.

Weird! Must be an upload issue. The audio in the Premiere Pro file seems fine.

I love my Hinata deck but in my play group they've decided it's too scary even when they're playing decks that make it so I can hardly play lol.
Same here. I love Hinata but you can either build her to be weak (not running X spells) or insanely strong. I think she treads the line of cedh

Can somebody explain why Jalbert didn't cast Awaken the blood Avatar T9 and swing for lethal? I think I'm missing something. Thanks!
He could have cast it two times, creating four Blood Avatar Token, having each enemy sac 4 creatures, swing and take out Dom - or am I wrong
Pretty sure he had enough mana and tokens to cast it 3 times to get 6 avatars. That's 18 damage on attack before any combat damage. Was a bit silly not to just play it out real quick, would take 30 seconds in real time and see what happens. @mtgmuddstah we'd rather see it played out to see how close it was!

Me and Andrew brainstormed quite a bit, but with Platinum Emperion on dom's side, and plenty of ways for him to protect it, i just couldn't get through

From 10:15, the black market goes up and your lifetotals are going down rapidly.
At Andrew's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 28, Andrew's life total = 37, black market 3 counters.
At Jalbert's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 26, Andrew's life total = 35, black market 5 counters.
At Dom's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 21, Andrew's life total = 33, black market 7 counters.
At Andrew's upkeep -> Jalbert life total = 16, Andrew's life total 28, black market 12 counters.
From sacrificing the 4 manifests -> Jalbert life total = 12, Andrew's life total 0, exiling the 4 cards.
During Jabert's turn he would have lost a total of 36 at least.

That Myrkul deck was great. Not playing with the boring Devoted Druid, not using the usual Enchantress stuff, but more like an Abzan aristocrats/goodstuff. Well done!
Jalbert is the goat
Very interesting game! However I have a feeling the final interaction of Dom getting manifested cards back as enchantments doesnt work. They died as 2/2s manifests and death triggers care about what it was on the battlefield to actually trigger. I'd love some explaination if this does or doesnt work as this is a horrible interaction if it does work!
Myrkul's death triggers only care if it was a nontoken creature when it died. When you exile it, Myrkul will use the card's actual information to create the token, as long as it's a permanent card.
what a misplay by Matt. why pump 40 into the X when Jalbert only has 38 life? if he did 38 he would have lived, but probably not for long though.

You ***CANNOT*** allow enchantress players to get big.
There are ***NOT ENOUGH RESPONSES*** to stacking the board full of enchantments.
For some reason, only ***WHITE AND GREEN*** can deal with this and everyone else has to suffer unless you can tutor out an All is Dust.
There are not enough colors that can consistently remove enchantments, therefore every Enchantress player is automatically arch nemesis unless they're playing enchantment creatures.

Now, to tune it... I'm getting Reconfigure and Living Weapon equipment to emulate Transformers combinations. 😁
