Kalvin Phillips has given a new meaning to the term "unplayable".
I think the criticism of Coufal has been a bit reactionary. Yes, he was poor yesterday. No question about that. But that was his worst performance for quite some time. Are we really going to drop a player after ONE bad game? By all means if he continues to play that badly in the next game or 2 you have to then make a decision, but if we have that attitude of wanting to drop a player for one bad game then we wouldn’t have the same starting 11 every other week, as even Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus have had off days.
Was thinking exactly that as I was listening. I wouldn't drop him, reckon he'll be bang up for it at home to Spurs and wouldn't surprise me if he grabbed another assist.

I personally think we need to upgrade there in the summer. You can see how slow he is getting now.
@@jordanharrison8454 We’ll certainly need to sign a RB whether it’s an upgrade or competition if Kehrer’s loan becomes permanent and Johnson is leaving as Coufal literally will be the only RB in the whole squad. It’ll probably be Wan-Bissaka knowing Moyes’ history for out of favour Man Utd players and knowing the player is with Sullivan’s favourite agent.
He’s literally been our best player defensively for the last month.
I always dread this game and can see Moyes bringing on Phillips to score an own-goal in the 98th minute.

Great shout for Orford to play. As you say we are unfortunately once again in the position towards the end of the season where we have players who we ‘think’ could do a job, but we’re not sure because Moyes has passed up opportunities to give players like Orford game time in appropriate fixtures. It’s why we finished 6th when we could have been 4th and why we were 7th when we could have been 5th or 6th. Keep doing the same thing and you get the same outcome.

I’m in total agreement with Geo and think we’ll win the game 2-1. Spurs at home under the lights in a game where we need to bounce back and put the disappointment of Saturday behind us - I’d argue it’s near enough the best fixture we could’ve asked for. Their play style suits the way we want to play and our attack is on form. We will get loads of chances we just need to be clinical. My only concern is the middle of the park but I’ve just got a gut feeling we do them over and hopefully dent their champions league hopes and enhance our europa/conference league hopes. 2 big games this week - I’d taken 4 across the 2 but imagine the scenes if we get 6. They’re 2 teams around us and to get where we want to be, we’ve got to beat these teams - and we will.

Coufal looked bad and Johnson looked bad. Coufal has been pivotal this season, Johnson has provided nothing. Obvious choice is to stick with Coufal.
What moyes fails to understand is how much a striker helps the defence by keeping there defenders occupied… and I feel for such an experienced manager it mind blowing how tactically noarriw minded he is

Surely the irony is lost on only me with regards to Spurs fans. They were complaining about the dreadful style of football under Conte and Mourinho and a desire to get in a coach who played better football. I don't recall the MSM slagging them off, telling them to be grateful, to be careful what they wished for etc etc etc. Yet we have the cheek to want exactly the same thing and we get pillored in the MSM cos we just little old West Ham.
Lo and behold, Spurs get in a more progressive manager, have maintained the same league position as the "boring" coaches yet have done so playing a much more exciting brand of football. Quell suprise. Will wonders never cease. It can be done.

There was another cracker of a conversation between Henry Winter and the presenter on Talksport this morning. The presenter actually confessed that he never watched West Ham but then went on to say we could end up like Charlton. Moyes pal Henry Winter wasn’t much better.

My only issue with what you said about JWP, is that JWP has actually scored more against Spurs than ANY other team..... He is to Spurs what Callum Wilson is to us. So I'd have him in the squad.....
Yeah, Vlad’s post game interview showed a hugely frustrated and despairing player. Next time a media talking head waffles on with their get back in your lane talk, they should have to listen to that interview. No exaggeration we have a top 5 front 3, we have a Brazilian maestro and a top shelf keeper. The rest of the players are decent. We should be doing much better.
Would like to see Moyes learn from his awful sub choice against Newcastle and make a more attacking option after 60m (if we're leading) and if he's desperate to move paqueta up front that he brings Lewis Orford on to be the link and potential understudy while Pac-Man is still with us

Agree with your back four. Rest Zouma and drop Vlad. I don't feel Johnson is an option at CM but he's capable at RB for this one. If we go 4-2-3-1 I'd use Paq and JWP in the middle of the park. Bowen on the right. Kudus number 10, Cornet on the left and Antonio up top. Bowen,Kudus,Antonio and Paqueta are all capable of causing problems and did in the last game. Expect goals at both ends.

Is Orford really any further along than the likes of Kodua and Marshall who cant get a sniff out on loan,I thought Earthy was considered the best prospect?
