Suffice to say that Agatha Harkness is the closest thing we've gotten to a classic Disney villain in over a decade.
Yes Wanda
Yeah, but that is not a good thing. In the old days, Disney didn't pay much attention to the villain design. The villians were just some evil people with powers that fit the theme of the movie. But that's all. There was nothing behind it. They always were extremely flat characters with no profile. They were just evil for the sake of it, with no explanation about WHY they are how they are. They had no backstory and no understandable motives.
Sure, Agatha was very entertaining as a villain in WandaVision because she was such a fun character. But compared to all the deep emotional topics that the show dealt with, her character was definitely the oddball. That was okay, because her storyline was only a minor part of the show.
But now she is getting her own series and if that is supposed to be good, she definitely could use a bit more personality and background. Since I have faith in the MCU skript writers, I'm optimistic that she will get that, but then she wouldn't be like a classic Disney villain anymore.

I was not expecting this. I knew that Agatha Harkness was a darker character, but I just figured that they'd stick to what was safe from WandaVision. I never thought that they'd make the jump from a sitcom to a horror series with the same character.
I thought they were just making something like a prequel to show her story pre-Wandavision or something. Looks like I was wrong...

He's probably trying to get information on his mom in there. In the comics, Wanda was able to meet her birth mother briefly for the first time on the Witch's Road.

I know Disney doesn't have the creative sense nor the spine to make Legion canon for the MCU, but it'd be amazing if she were also playing the Shadow King/Lenny here, just manipulating everyone like always.
Sheâs dead. Itâs as simple as that. Wanda wouldnât fake her death after all the damage sheâs done. She beyond redemption. Not even bad writing can bring her back.
Also, sheâs the only one that can break the spell she cast on Agatha. Now that sheâs gone. The spell is broken. All she needs to restore her magic.

@@steeez0 Marvel is big, and some people always have to hate the big thing. I dislike Disney, but Marvel has been solid on everything so far (aside from Secret Invasion I didn't like that). MCU shows have all gone for being different and trying some new things and it has been a delight for me. I love the persistent narrative across the MCU without them doing the same formula every single time as I do have varied interests so each show hit well with me for different reasons. But some people just gotta hate, it's pretty much their personality. Hopefully most of them grow out of it.

The beginning of the teaser didnât feel like stereotypical marvel, it felt new, and it felt like the character Agatha had more depth than to be seen. Just the feeling alone of this not being the usual marvel but feeling more like the glory days of agents of shield is what weâve really been waiting for
I thought they were playing into the TV show gimmick from Wandavision, with Agatha being in a typical crime procedural show. I'm probably way off however that was my first instinct.

Finally met someone who's watched Agents of Shield. That classic was a all time hit of Marvel TV, 7 straight years. If this show is coming with some good cinema drama,can be a hit

I really like her, the first time I watch her was in the Wandavision. Sheâs a good actress.

Agatha is trapped within her own mind from what Wanda did in Westview. Sheâs living out all this stuff in her head in the first two episodes. Things starts to go wrong when Wanda dies because the spell starts to get broken, which is why things start to get eerie in the first two episodes and thatâs why Aubrey shows up telling her that she still trapped. Which is a kind of cool detail to show how potent and powerful Wandaâs magic is because itâs still taking affect even after she âdiedâ if she was truly dead, then the spell would be broken 100% but thatâs not the case. Agatha still has to fight her way out of the illusion that sheâs been trapped in.
Perhaps. Wanda or her soul (if it was her body) may be trapped in the Witchesâ Road. And it does seem like itâs pretty much as bad as the Darkhold from what weâve seen. Unfortunately, the only thing that suggests this would be the hands that were on the tree and how the corpse seemed to be trying to talk to Billy.

And if you look at the official synopsis, Billy is asking Agatha to take him to the witches Road and the road grants witches with what they most desire so he may find a clue to finding Wanda without indirectly knowing that heâs looking for her.

@@disneyboy3030 oh most definitely. If you notice, although Wanda is âdeadâ Agatha is still trapped within her spell. That in itself already raises an eyebrow because if she was truly dead, then the spell would have broken entirely, and she wouldnât be trapped and needing to claw her way out. I think that goes to show that Wanda is extremely powerful that even after âdyingâ she still really alive and her magic is still taking effect

I was not expecting this. I knew that Agatha Harkness was a darker character, but I just figured that they'd stick to what was safe from WandaVision. I never thought that they'd make the jump from a sitcom to a horror series with the same character. greatest move today was *XAI80T* as you said
Horror isn't an inherently unsafe genre. There are lots of kids horror movies especially about witches, multiverse of madness also had a lot of horror elements and was directed by someone known for horror. Wanda vision, while not horror, was a very dark premise, and the part where Agatha was present as a character and not a brainwashed townie was when the illusion broke, there's no way they would have reversed that premise and put Agatha in a 50s sitcom.

She's just not going to see herself as a villain and since we're following along from her point of view, we'll probably be sympathetic to her in her show. Kind of like The Punisher. Ron Marz had a great quote about him, "The Punisher isn't problematic. He's a bad guy we root for because he kills worse bad guys." I can see Agatha in a similar situation ...
